How have your LO's reacted to toast? Do they just suck it? Also do they just have it dry?

Sophie had scrambled egg and toast today. I lightly toasted it so it wasn't too hard and put some lurpak light on it and cut into fingers. She didn't understand at first but then quite happily sucked and gummed on it. She didnt eat the crusts but they were handy to give her something to hold on to.

Which annabel karmel book did everyone buy??

I've got two:

Baby & Toddler Meal Planner

and

Top 100 Baby Purees

They are both fab, but I find the Top 100 Baby Purees the best (its not just purees, it is all age ranges, you just puree or mash to the consistency that you want). It's just fab for ideas and just to know quantities of ingredients to make a tasty meal.

I would highly recommend them.

I just make about 4 recipes in 1 night, which takes about an hour, and freeze them all into weaning ice cube trays (I've found the silicon ones to be the best as the portions are really easy to get out ) and that food lasts for about 4 weeks which is brilliant.

Jax does bite it now and tries to chew it but eventually spits it out, lol! I toast it and put unsalted butter on it.

I originally went on her website and found the app there but if you type into search in the app store annabel karmel then it comes up with annabels essentials. Was about £3.99.

I bought the purees book and the top 100 meals in minutes and got them second hand from amazon. I hope they're in decent condition!

Angel plays with it, gums it, chews it and swallows it occasionally lol. I lightly toast it so it's not burnt but not too soggy as it can get stuck on the roof of their mouth. I butter it lightly with Lurpack unsalted and she seems to like it. I gave her cheese on toast for lunch and cut it into fingers she played with most of it but seemed to like it lol xx

I just gave E a try of Ella's Kitchen Cookies. I'm not sure if she got to actually eat any of it, but she sure had fun sucking on it and getting it all over her mouth, hands, clothes and highchair (once it was nice and soggy).

Jax does that with the Organix ones, they end up really slimy and slippery and hard to hold

I read 'sun fucking' instead of 'fun sucking', there's def something wrong with my eyes, but probably my brain as well, LOL!

Gonna make some of my own food tomorrow, any recipe ideas? Are they allowed cooked meats like chicken or turkey or do you reckon they'd be too salty?
