Ttc shit boat - long term ttcers

My appointment went well thank you! Our consultant at the new clinic is really nice, very enthusiastic about finding out why we aren't getting pregnant and not automatically blaming it on my age! Wants us to get a sperm dna test and the implantation window test, then we might not need the embryo screening.

I hadn't heard of those tests before blueflower. Is the sperm DNa test to make sure it's all normal? What's the implantation window test?

Sounds like you have a good consultant this time.

Yes its a more advanced sperm analysis and if necessary they do IMSI with the ivf which involves picking a sperm under a higher magnification.

The ERA is a biopsy of the endometrium to determine when its most receptive to implantation, so if its not ready when the embryos are, they freeze them for the next month.

Well AF has arrived for me was my last Clomid cycle so now we are getting referred for Ivf

Had a good cry this morning but the one thing that has cheered me up is thst my good friend in here millielaura has got her Bfp this morning! !! :D xxx

Ohh has millie got her bfp I've not seen that, will go and forum stalk. Sorry about AF angel, I hope IVF does it for you. I was due AF yesterday, no sign yet but also BFNs so I obviously didn't manage to ov when I had my EWCM, bugger as I thought my cycles had settled.

EWCM is still a good sign though. I have only had it the past two months since, erm, ever! Xxx

Well I am 5dpo today... have been feeling rough, have a couple of mouth ulcers and free falling thick, white CM. This has been making me wonder. I've been having twinges and very light cramps this evening, which unfortunately I've had this early for the last couple of months. I also believe cramping this early would never be anything this exciting. Feeling less hopeful now!

Kitty, you are on clomid right? I had cramps through the TWW when I was on clomid so I don't think you should read too much into it. It could be a side effect, or it could be early implantation :-) FX it's the latter... Xxx

It's definitely the former. Or AF wriggling about, I usually get pains about a week before. I'm pretty matter of fact about TTC, can't possibly imagine seeing that pink line and just just don't ever believe it's going to happen! Probably not a good outlook to have, obviously!

Hello everyone, I do have my bfp, soo happy! Still super nervous though and not thoroughly convinced all will be okay and that I'll be leaving this boat.
Also feel sad about leaving my ltttc friends here, hope this boat is gonna be vacated totally this month!!!! Xxxxxx

Congrats again Millie!

Kitty - I have the same outlook. Are you on progesterone supplements too? At 5dpo it won't have had a chance to implant yet xx

No, nothing like that. My progesterone is always super high, always ovulate, everything is working perfectly, just can't seem to get pregnant :( xx

Congrats Millielaura ! I'm sure the rest of us will join you in leaving the boat soon ! Positive thoughts and baby dust to all - we can do it !

Oh, how frustrating! :wall2: Surely it will happen soon? Work on helping the implantation! It is the right time!

They tell me I always ovulate too but something is not right as naturally I get so much spotting. At least I have finally been given metformin now (but not to start until October). Also, I believe my progesterone starts to drop too quickly so I have been finally been given some tablets (I took pessaries on my IUI cycles).

Who would've thought getting pregnant would be so difficult...

Huge congratulations millie, I hope you can take the rest of us with you it is about time we all got ashore :)

Kitty fx for you this cycle. It is so hard to actually believe it could happen isn't it. I think it is one of my ways of facing the disappointment.

Wedding yesterday, surrounded by babies and bumps and of course the when are you going to have children questions, oh the joy. Then have people telling you not to wait and it will be the best thing you ever do blah blah.

Congrats again Millie!

Does anyone have any tips for aiding implantation? I already drink raspberry leaf, eat pineapple core, eat Brazil nuts - along with the obvious no caffeine, no booze, no smoking, no green tea, no anything else that may cause uterine contraction.
Most people do none of these things and have all the luck in the world!

Hi I thought you're only meant to drink raspberry leaf tea until ovulation because it can cause the uterus to contract? I may be wrong though but I thought that's what people drink to help them go into labour.

good luck xxx

I do. And then bromelain for 5-6 days after ovulation. I follow everything to the word :wall2: ugh.

Sorry I thought you meant you drink it after ovulation xx

My issue is implantation. I was told it could be an issue with the embryos arresting as they have an abnormality or the receptivity of the endometrium is on the wrong day for the embryos to implant.
