Ttc shit boat - long term ttcers

I've got a blocked tube Millie and Iui worked for me with clomid (we have a touch of make factor too) so there's no reason why clomid alone won't work if you're tracking the side you ovulate, and the same with Iui which is much cheaper than IVF. It's worth looking into if the clomid doesn't do the trick xx

Ah thanks Dee :). They've said I can have 3 more clomid rounds so hopefully I get lucky and ovulate on the right hand side!

Ahh I am okay about it. Mainly because I've been keeping myself busy with my new business with Forever and I'm having soo much fun having an aim and focus again. I've also lost some weight and now I feel a lot more like my old self. And I guess I got to a stage where entire days I was just spending time googling and looking things up and just doing nothing but thinking how unfair it all was and obsessing about the what ifs, that I've just had to stop that for my own good lol! So no more googling and wondering about the future etc etc. It has helped a lot. I feel a lot more emotionally capable now lol.

Ahh snowbee thats terrible!! They showed me on the screen at the time!! Xx

Wow that is good, I wasn't allowed to see the screen and they said they weren't qualified to answer any questions I had to wait until my next consultant app for him to explain it all. When they cancelled my app I rang up for the results and they wouldn't give them to me over the phone only at the app, which I've not had yet as it keeps getting moved! Can't find out from GP as they don't always send her the results, last time I went to her she didn't have anything about it on my file. I may try again soon though as I want to check what result she got for my thyroid as I'm concerned that might be my issue as my pcos doesn't appear to be caused by insulin resistance and thyroid is the next most common cause.

I know lots of people with only one working tube and none of them have had any problems, even when oving from the 'bad' side the other tube seems to compensate for it so fx it will be the same for you!

Snowbee that's awful that you've had to wait that long. If they won't give you the results over the phone (which is fairly standard now) then they should write to you, especially if they are cancelling your appts to see your consultant.

I'd ring the consultants secretary, tell her how many times your appt has been cancelled and how long you have been waiting for your results. If she can't get something sorted for you quickly, ask her for the number for the patient liaison service and say you are going to put a complaint in about it. That should get your consultant moving.

Also when I had my HSG I saw the screen and was told the results there and then too.

Just had my hsg! Right tube fine, left tube blocked from scarring!
Not really sure what happens now I need to ring for an appointment xxx

Millie I'm sorry to hear you have a blocked tube. I hope you get an appt soon so you can get sorted.

CD14 today. Last cycle I ovd on CD10, not sure if i did this cycle as wasn't opking, I did have ewcm on days 9 & 10 though so fingers crossed.

How is everyone else on the boat?

Feeling a bit down about it all at the moment, trying to be hopeful that there is a chance but I'm just fed up of the neverending cycle of negatives and disappointment. Trying to be positive that finally my cycles are seemingly normal after last years mc so surely that means it has to happen at some point?

Sorry your feeling down snowbee, I know it's hard but try to keep positive. It's good that your cycles seem to be back to normal.

I'm trying to do all I can to take my mind off it as we still have 2 months before we find out anymore news on OH SA. Now 7 days late so really need to try and chill out so AF will arrive.

Hi everyone , I felt the need to climb aboard as well ! Feeling the need to let off some steam !
I previously tried to conceive with an ex partner for 3 1/2 years, went through several blood tests , ultrasound, HSG (bloody awful thing) and they found I was progesterone deficient so got put on 6 months of clomid. I have now been trying to conceive with my fiancé for 15 months , unfortunately I have to undergo all the tests again ! Just had my bloods done and surprise surprise I have low progesterone levels. Have to have another HSG 😫 , then they are going to put me on crazy clomid again which made me really poorly last time . Although I know what to expect this time round it doesn't make it any less frustrating ! Of course I'll take the tablets again but I can't help but feel cynical about them !

Still waiting for my lap and dye appointment. Pretty much waiting by the door every morning! I need to have it 6 weeks from the original date (24th June), so it will be in the next month at least. Just want that letter!

I'm 7dpo today and no symptoms whatsoever! !
This is my 6th Clomid round and should be my last but I have enough for 1 more cycle

Ragdoll sounds like you've had a right time of it, what sort of side effects put you off Clomid?
I must admit I get a few hot flushes but apart from that im lucky to have no side effects

Kitty that must be frustrating just waiting for your appointment, are you still on Clomid?

Snowbee good luck for this cycle really hope you get your Bfp and get of the boat (as much as we love you!)

xxxx

Angel6901 , I had a few episodes where I had a hot flush, heart palpitations and shaking all at the same time. Had to sit outside, barely able to breathe. Scared me so much , had to go outside to try and breathe , then of course I cried a lot as well. I believed I was on the lowest dose, recently found out from my new consultant that last time they increased my dosage twice and didn't tell me and that's why I had all the side effects ! . I will try clomid again because unfortunately I have to before they would allow me to have IVF. It's all jumping through hoops !

Oh gosh those side effects sound awful!!! I used to suffer from panic attacks when I was younger so can really empathise with you,
you could perhaps try 25mg to start then up it to 50 if you do ok on the lower dose, I'm up to 150 now so can't go any higher if it doesn't work next cycle (or this one) I'm looking at IUI or IVF but will have to pay privately as I have a child already, I'm willing to do anything to have another but really hope we get lucky before that xxxx

I was hoping for a miracle bfp before our appointment tomorrow but its not to be. Only seems to happen to other people. Beginning to think pregnancy only happens to other people too! This really is a shit boat to be in!

I got the same on Clomid on 50mg. Horrid!
I'm increasing it to 100mg next time. Fingers crossed for you xxx

After my hsg showed one tube blocked from scarring, I'm just waiting for a letter for my next appointment and also the results of my pcos bloods.

I really want to get myself ovulating naturally again. I found Clomid tough and I found my HSG really painful and unpleasant so it has put me off treatment for a while!! Xx

Sorry Blueflower :( Hope you have a positive appointment.

Gosh Ragdoll those side effects sound awful. Did it actually work and you ovulate or did it just mess with your body? You could ask them for a different medication (like letrozole?) instead to see if that worked better for you?

I've decided to lose 5kg. I can't mess with my diet too much as I'm already eating to control my hormones and pcos so does anyone have any suggestions? Would I be better doing say 15-20 mins additional exercise every day or doing a longer session every other day or just a couple of times a week? I do quite a physical job and have a physical hobby so it isn't like I sit around all the time so I'm not sure which option would be better for me.

I think doing more shorter bursts would be better snowbee :)

I've just lost a stone by doing the clean9 and then continuing on the programme afterwards. Been doing lots of excersize and making healthier food choices too! :)

I think weight loss reallyyy helps as I had ewcm on day 14 for the first time in soo long xxxx

Angel6901,Blueflower,millielaura,Snowbee thanks for your advice and kind words . I went to my appointment the other day prepared to have a lengthy discussion about clomid , the other consultant said I'd be on it for 6 months, the different consultant I saw this time said that I ovulate so there is no need for the tablets and he will refer me for IVF after my HSG. Really surprised , but pleasantly so !

Blueflower I hope your appointment went well?
Well done millielaura ! That's an amazing achievement !
Snowbee I agree that smaller and frequent is the way to go , as too many long sessions of exercise can have an adverse effect. The silliest things can work as exercise , like cleaning kitchen/laminate floors by hand rather than mop (now and again not all the time !) and taking clean clothes upstairs in a few trips rather than one. Little things like that soon add up and it doesn't feel as much of a chore as going to the gym etc as you don't notice you're doing it !

I tried to post a reply on here but it said my comment had to be checked over? I don't recall swearing but I may have done !
Quick update- I have been told I can skip the clomid and be referred for IVF after HSG-yay ! Bad news is I was supposed to have my HSG today but they cancelled last minute saying I hadn't had recent swabs- when I called to make the appointment I told her when I'd had my swabs and she said it was fine so I must say I'm very annoyed ! I have to have swabs again and book back in for HSG , but given the nature of it this might set me back another month I may have to wait for next period before I can go !!

Thanks to everyone for your advice

Blueflower - hope you had a positive appointment?
Angel6901-sorry to hear that you will have to pay, the cost is extortionate it's so unfair !
millielaura-well done on the weight loss ! I know exactly what you mean , sometimes the pain and discomfort from the tests can make it seem like an endless mountain to climb- I hate it when people brag about how quick they got pregnant and didn't mean to - it isn't fair that we have to walk through fire to achieve the same thing !
Snowbee- last time the clomid did increase my hormones and I was ovulating but it didn't happen. I agree that short bits would be better than prolonged sessions !

And now magically it's posted my original post
