I ended up going private as I was getting taken the mick out of because OH and I are 22 and nearly 25. The care is so much better but it is expensive and will all add up.
But then my friend, her and her OH are both 22 and they got treatment after 6 months of trying so I really think it varies by area .
I wish from the start I had been more assertive and not let myself be taken the mick out of by the GP's I saw so one piece of advice is do not let them undermine you! Xxx

Whilst on this subject....

Is the waiting for private long?

As mentioned we have been referred for NHS treatment but my GP warned that after the consultation which should be in a few weeks the waiting list for actual treatment in my area could be around 18months....!x

Oh wow!! I really think I might go ahead and get a consultation booked in in that case!! I don't think I want to wait if I don't really have to! Patience has never been my strong point! Ha ha x x

Hi Lesley, I would recommend you check the guidelines for your NHS treatment first. In the area we come under if we have private treatment it makes us not eligible for any NHS treatment afterwards, so you can't get private treatment while waiting for your NHS treatment. We have decided to wait for our 'free goes' on the NHS first. I'm going to be starting on clomid and hopefully that is all we will need but if it isn't and we need further investigations and more invasive treatments we will still be able to get NHS treatment. Otherwise we would go private for the clomid as that isn't too expensive. We can't risk missing our NHS chance just in case we need more expensive treatment.

That sucks so much it's all nhs or nothing for you snowbee. The area I'm in have only very recently started offering anything at all. They agreed to last June and then pulled out and then only in December 2014 did they decide to allow private treatment and from the sounds of it its HSG then straight to ivf with them. That's the impression I got anyway. So the guidelines are as long as you have had no more than two ivf cycles privately then you can go with them.

So just had our doctors appointment, being sent for tests thank god! Day 21 bloods booked for the 19th and I can't stand needles lol.
Feel better now, finally moving forward.

Aww I couldn't stand them at all either and used to feel so faint after blood tests. But had quite a few since first going to docs about ttc and i think i am used to them . Sometimes I'm sick after if I don't eat before so defo remember to eat if you can

CD27 and I think I'm out. Just started with some brown cm. Good news is this will be a 27/28 day cycle to follow last months 26 day cycle - after 10 months of ridiculous cycles following mc looks like they might finally be settling down. Timing was spot on this cycle so bit annoying, why won't the egg meet the sperm and get on with it!!

I am CD9 today, ewcm has started and we bd'd yesterday, I hope we manage lots of bding over the long weekend, we shall see. Its not always easy with a teen in the house, need to wait until he goes to sleep. I had a really vivid dream last night that I was 20+ weeks pregnant and the baby was moving, it felt so so real, I had to feel my stomach when I woke up as it was so convincing. I felt sad when I realised it was a dream. I also saw two magpies the other day, always only see one so I am taking these as signs that I will get pregnant this cycle xx

Sorry about af snowbee that's great about your cycles settling down though!

I thought mine had until this 15 day cycle. Can't think what it could of been lol other than I started that co enzyme q10 on Monday night the night before af came but surely that wouldn't cause af to come and so quickly lol? Just my body being silly I think!

Noope I've never tried it but I have a full bottle in the cupboard. I bought it when my cycles where long to shorten them and then they decided by themselves to go super short haha. So not sure if it's better with long cycles rather than short? Think I read it isn't good with clomid either. But if the clomid doesn't work then I think I may as well give it a shot! xx

Yeah probably not a good mix with clomid, I think it helps regulate hormones so prob work for long or short cycles, I wouldn't use it if cycles were fairly regular to being with as could possibly mess things up xx
