I know, its ridiculous. Its stopped now. I am going to the doctors on Tuesday for swabs and to have a look to see if its an erosion/eversion etc. If all comes back clear then I will be referred to gynae again. I am so scared, what if its cancer or something? I have had numerous scans and nothing has shown in those, I also don't have any other symptoms apart from the bleeding but still scary xx

Hi Andreax they want me to have an internal scan on Day3 of my cycle to count follicles and also to do AMH for egg quality but I'm too scared to go. If they tell me my eggs are knackered or that there is only a few left I think I would be totally devastated the consultant said I was being an ostrich (burying my head in the sand) but it's a self preservation thing I think it would be very hard to hear that I definitely wouldn't be getting pregnant naturally. My Day 3 bloods were very good so they said I showed no signs of pre-menopause they similar to a girl in her early 30's. I'm sorta trusting Mother Nature to look after things, I'm hoping that I might have one healthy egg left inside me and that it will hopefully create a healthy strong baby bean

That sounds great what they said about your day 3 day bloods, I worry if i am in peri/pre menopause already as my periods are a lighter than they used to be (although i have never had heavy periods) I only have one day of red bleeding then a couple of days of light red/brown blood, it worries me. I 'try' not to stress though....haha yeah right.

Who knew this ttc malarky was such hard work, these babies better go on to rule the world the amount of work we are putting in to ttc them!

Hi hons, I'm in Southern Ireland so no NHS over here I have to pay for everything privately, though GP will do Day 3 & Day 21 bloods so that only costs Euro40. AMH or Egg Count costs Euro150 each. If pregnant you can go public but won't be seen until 13/14 weeks so I have gone private both times thankfully as they picked up the MMC's earlier.
Did your AF arrive last weekend or are you still in? Might pluck up courage to have internal scan next cycle. I did get GP to test blood for AMH but our local lab wouldn't process it as test is too expensive even though I offered to pay. I think we worry no matter what happens, I was worrying cos my periods had got heavier !

Clementine, I know its scary but it really is best to know. If you have low egg reserve it doesn't mean its the end of the road, it just means that you may need to act faster so some assisted fertility treatment may be needed rather than trying naturally and risking time running out. My consultant said even women with very low egg reserve can get pregnant naturally (although harder), they just need that one egg.
If your day 3 bloods are good then that's great as it shows your body is not struggling to produce the hormones for egg development etc.

If I was you I would brave it and go for the scan, I know its so scary. I was terrified when I went for mine (after high fsh results). I honestly thought they would say I have no follicles at all but was fine.
You have to go with what feels right for you though, hope I haven't offended you with my 2 pence worth but just wanted to let you know what the fertility consultant said about it xx

Its a nightmare getting an appointment isn't it. I have one doctor who will see me on the day no matter what but she only does Thursdays which isn't always great as sometimes I have problems on other days of the week lol.

I hope the witch stays away for you. I have 8 days to go and I am sure she will turn up as per usual so think I will be on this boat for some time yet xx

Oh ladies, I had my acupuncture today. I had a needle in the top of my head. That was an odd experience but very relaxing in the end. I was worried that she would forget to take it out and I would be walking around with a needle poking out of my head lol xx

Its amazing, I recommend it highly. The lady I see specialises in fertility and she focuses on where I am in the cycle, so when I went last week I was due to ovulate, this week she did some to help with the spotting. I haven't had any more spotting since 5dpo, may or may not be due to acupuncture but its just so relaxing. It is supposed to regulate hormones for me.

This is what I found when googled it;

Theory

Acupuncture is based on the belief that an energy, or 'life force', flows through the body in channels called meridians. This life force is known as Qi (pronounced 'chee').
Practitioners who adhere to traditional beliefs about acupuncture believe that when Qi cannot flow freely through the body, this can cause illness. They also believe that acupuncture can restore the flow of Qi, and so restore health.
Some scientists and acupuncturists believe that acupuncture may stimulate nerves and muscle tissue, and that this may be responsible for any beneficial effects.

It can help with spotting, progesterone, lower FSH etc, all sorts. They can focus on loads of things, headaches, bowel issues, even carpal tunnel as she said she may be able to help with that.
It really is not how you would imagine, it doesn't hurt at all and the needles are small. My acupuncturist is so thorough too, she wanted to see all my blood results, scans, any medical records and she has been doing her own research into increasing progesterone, she is wonderful xx

I think i will look into getting bloods done again, i hate doctors so have to pluck up the courage to do it! Yes you are right, we worry no matter what. Got af last weekend so CD7 today, should OV in around 5-6 days! x

All my bloods, scans hsg have come back ok

Number issue with both OH SA and they have said to us no iui just straight to IVF as only 10% chance of it happening naturally

Spanner in the works is my BMI, got about 4kg to get off before they will refer me! Although if we had gone private I'm well under their bmi limits grrrrr!

Staces I live half between Dublin and Belfast beside the sea on the East coast, I'm just on the Southern side of the border. My parents are Irish but I was born in England as they lived over there for 16years but they came back to Ireland when I was 2. When I graduated from Queen's in Belfast I worked in London for 3 years and in my last job I was based in Leicester for 2.5years. Some of my closest friends are based in the UK so thats sorta how I ended up joining a UK forum even though I'm Irish
I would have gone private to Newry in Northern Ireland as it's only 20mins away but they changed the insurance costs for Southern patients so private fees went from £2500 for maternity care to £5500 which is ~€7000 plus I'd have to pay for scans and for another thyroid consultant so it was just too expensive. I'm now going private to the Coombe Maternity hospital in Dublin which is about 75minutes away and private maternity care costs €3900.
Sorry AF came You should go for blood test CD2 or 3 next month and I'll get scan done ...... FX we get BFP's this month so then we can avoid

Ttc for 4 1/2 years with no sniff of a bfp, just had a lap which confirmed I have endo. The doc keeps saying stuff like "the endometrosis was a surprise" and I have to stop myself from murdering him because I told him I had it before the op- he's the best I've seen but his god complex is unreal :/ and OH's sperm results and my bloods were fine apparently (ive made an appt to look at them all) so we've just been given the option of IUI or IVF.

They don't do unmedicated IUI so I'd have to run the risk of the endo getting worse- dunno if having the 6 cycles offered would be silly with such a small chance of success. I have regular cycles so it wouldn't be solving a specific problem. But then if we go straight for the 3 tries of IVF and I have miscarriage problems or they didn't work at all we couldn't go back to IUI. Please help us decide ladies! What would u do?

If you both try it, I hope you like it as much as I do, everyone is different of course and some may not like the feeling. I can't explain what it feels like when the needles go in, you feel it but it doesn't hurt xx

These doctors amaze me with how they think they know everything and just ignore what we say when ultimately we know our bodies better than anyone.
I had a lap too in October for endo, we knew I had it before the operation.

I would definitely get print outs of all blood and SA results so you can go over them yourself, they have got a few things wrong with me and signed them off as fine when they're not.

I am surprised they are not giving you the option to try naturally for a while, a lap can improve fertility and if your OH sperm is fine and bloods good too then I would have thought they would want to give you a chance naturally. I take it your tubes are clear? I can't really advise on the IUI vs IVF as I don't know enough about success rates. If you have the 6 IUIs and they don't work, are you then able to still have the 3 IVF cycles? Or is it one or the other? xx

Not feeling good today, was awoken at 3.30 by my son and I felt so dizzy and sick, I even lost my balance and fell into the door Eventually got to go back to sleep and still feel the same when I got up, have to keep sitting down. I am not going to get excited, probably just a bug. I work with children so its likely I have caught something off of one of them.

Oh btw, does anyone know if its ok to have swabs taken in the 2WW? They want to do swabs on Tuesday to test for reasons for bleeding (I have had all the swabs before and all clear so pointless really) and to check cervix etc but I don't want my cervix messed with (sounds wrong) if there is a chance of pregnancy?? I am wondering if I should change the appointment xx

Hiya,

Dizziness was my first symptom with my son too. I am trying not to think about it too much. It got better as the day went on yesterday and then its back again, not as intense today though.
I will be 11dpo on Tuesday. I have had all the swabs before, they will be looking for STDs (I expect) I had to have these done last year as part of my gynae investigations, all clear, I am sure they will do a swab for BV, again, had it done, all clear and I think they will look for thrush too which I of course could have as that is changeable. I think I will go to the appointment mostly for reassurance but say I would rather wait to have the swabs til another part in my cycle. I have looked up signs of cancer and I don't have any signs apart from the spotting and I have had numerous internals, scans, bloods hsg and lap, I would have thought something would have shown up but still paranoid. I always assume the worst.

How many dpo are you now?

Still no more spotting, I am 9dpo now and only had the spotting on 5dpo which lasted a few hours so I am glad its not carrying on up to AF so far xx

Think the bleeding is def more of an fertility issue , have u had spotting when ur not in the 2 ww ?
