when I was little me and my best friend used to play mummy and daddy (she was daddy lol) and we would lie in bed together with our baby and watch tv as that was what parents do. As far as I know she hasn't felt the urge to get a sex change and I am in a heterosexual relationship.

im not talking about wrong or right

im talking about natural or un-natural

natural and un-natural does not come in to it in a childs eyes

It is right and wrong that is all they see

If you say that something is un-natural to them they see that as wrong

hmm. thats one to think about isnt ebonymummy.

i dont know. i dont think i could show a prejudice about things like that.

my ancestors were all persecuted on both mum and dad side.

my mum's side were all Jewish, lost everyone apart from nan and grandad.

dad's side were classed as "coloured" in South Africa. were segregated and persecuted.

hmm definiately a hard dilemma ebonymummy x

and so was mine...

being black is not un-natural nor is it sexual.. being black is being black

homosexuality was prosecuted becaz of religion

well if they wanna see it as wrong.. thats what they see it as..

i wont present it as being wrong or right

when they ask me when they are older..

around 10-ish.. i ll tell them it un-natural.. as it is

I personally don't think it is unatural, how can it be when there are gay people in the world? And if Seren one day introduced me to her girlfriend I would be just as proud of her. I would want my child to be happy whatever their sexuality, and not feel like they have to live a lie for fear of upsetting their parents or becuase their parents thought it was unatural.

well when i was little...

we had a game in jamaica called purple touch..

where if your fingers werent crossed.. they can touch any part of your body..

this was meant for big people.. but was leaked in schools :rotfl:

i use to touch my best friends breast and loved it...

i thiunk thats why im bi-curious

gay people are killed in my country

this gay man accidentally touched my dads 'tingy'

and my dad gave him a few knife scars to remember...

being gay is still a taboo in the black communtity.... esp jamaican community

the whole purpose and men + women are to reproduction

its like a jig-saw

it fits... and the picture will fit

u might find another piece of da puzzle that fits 9no pun intended) but the picture will be odd

i have quite a few jamaican friends so i understand what you are saying ebonymummy.

at the end of the day it is each to their own. everyone brings up their children with the best intention.

i mean my best friend, i hated her husband, he would rather his son turn out gay then date a black or asian girl, i mean what is that all about.

my childhood boyfriens's mum and dad hated me, called me a w*g. now sods law, he has married a dark skin, beautiful black lady, and has 3 gorgeous children. so i laugh at them now.

my uncle told me he would disown me if i was to go out with a white guy

Sadly I tihnk this is another case of the media blowing something out of all proportion. It may be that this is a serious government proposal, however, reading about it in yesterday's Telegraph, the Telegraph claimed that it is the work of an extremist Christian group who claim that these books will be introduced, despite the government never actually having proposed it.

As to whether different lifestyles should be taught in schools - then yes I believe they should. My best friend at school knew he was gay since he was 4, and it turned out that this is a common age to start suspecting you're different from the norm. It's also a very long time to think that you're "un-natural". Recent research on homosexuality suggests that it is do with the number of sons that a mother has had, the more sons she has had, the more likely it is that her youngest will be gay. It's not a gay gene as such, but suspected to be something to do with conditions in the uterus. Of course it's not a fail safe rule, as my OH's youngest brother can testify- he is the youngest of 3 and is in a heterosexual relationship.

Homosexuality has been persecuted at some times because of religion and of course praised at others beucase of it. Think of the perfect love of the ancient Greeks where homosexual love was prefered to heterosexual love. Woman were not considered equal in that society!

i dont think anyone in my family could come out that they 'give head' let alone be gay

ebony im not being rude just intersested... im pretty nieve

My point is that as long as my daughter is happy in a loving relationship I couldn't give a shit if her partner was male or female. Children are another issue, and anyway gay couples can have children so I could still be a granny.

biologically...

thanks hun, I did get an a-level in biology and I have my own baby so I know how it works

I see no difference between that and Seren adopting a child when she is in a heterosexual relationship because she has infertility problems. There are enough heterosexual couples to keep the human race going.

gays - its a taboo... older black peopel think its a (white thing) but obviously there are as much balck gays as there are white gays.... its just a taboo in out community unlike it being alot more open and accepted in the white community

how many rappers do u know... that dont sing about killing gays

all reggae singers 'fire burn' gays

most jamaicans (mainly older ones - my dads generation) hate gays

there could never be a gay march in jamaica.. too much blood shed

(there reasons are stuoid tho i think.. they say god dont like it)) but they dont go around killing.. ppl who commit adultery tho.. which our men are notorious for (they say..lol) plus they are killing the gays as well so they are not abiding by the bible

but the bible does stated that if a man lie with a man as he does with a woman he should be put to death... but the bible also states 'thou shall not kill''

hmmmm

but with blow jobs.. i love it :cheer:

but its a taboo to jamaicans + africans..

black american embraces it fully

i find that black countries are more against it that in a multicultuarl society
