**The No Sleep Club**

maybe you should start training him urchin to do what EM78 said! that way he could just feed when he wants without waking you!!

Boobie bottle = £20 down the drain :wall: She wouldn't take it (liked the way it was like a warm booby against her face but it's too soft for her to push her bottle lip against so she just chewed it then screamed).

Back to the drawing board with the bottles then  Do you think anyone would buy the bottle on ebay? Is that a bit manky?
Maybe DH should offer her a bottle first thing in the morning to see if she'll take one then?

Last night Olivia went to bed at 9.30, woke at 3.00 for a feed then back to bed at 3.30, woke at 4am, tried to settle her but she was cooing and wide eyes so fed her for 5 mins then she slept til 7. So it was a good night really - just a shame I got woken up at 5.30 by DH's snoring (it was so bad I had to go and sleep in the spare room!)

LOL! Definately an improvement though
Do you feed Brody on demand during the day Urchin?

Lucy

Yes, although he's lost interest since I started weaning, I now take him upstairs onto the bed to feed him during the day so he can't get distracted, as the slightest sneeze or movement from me ends his feed as he is just too nosey!

Thats a shame Lucy about the bottle. I would give it a go on ebay. I have tons of baby clothes I might try selling.

I know what you mean though! i am such a clean and tidy person and I bet you are too - its whether people belive you and take the chance of buying them!

I have about 8 lovely coats to sell on there. Heidi got bought so much stuff and half of it she didnt have the chance to wear because the weather wasnt right for it - or she grew to quick. Most of them are Marks and Spencers or Next - some even have labels on still

Gone off the thread a bit there! - oops sorry!

Brody has had some MASSIVE naps today:
11-1 then 4-6!!!!

I've got the nap routine down, He sleeps in his crib, wakes after about an hour but I don't go to him, and he goes back to sleep for another hour!

Have I made a big mistake or will he sleep all night?!? Stay tuned to find out

Oooh Urchin let us know!!

I met up with Petchy today and another girl Claire, and Reuben (petchy's little boy) napped really well and so did Claires little girl. I reckon it must be the hot weather

Let us know what happens tonight!!!!

I didnt give Heidi a bath tonight after last nights fiasco! shes is in bed now - but very unsettled?!

Heidi decided to wake at 3.45am arghghghghg :wall: – Way to early = she hasnt done this for a while and today I am going out and meeting some friends in a shopping centre and so it will now mess all the foods and sleeping pattern up.

I left her grizzling for an hour but then she started really crying, so I bought her downstairs and whilst her bottle was warming she fell asleep!

So now its 5.09am and shes fast asleep in her rocker and I am here stuck on the settee watching GCSC Bitesize!!!!!

How did you all get on?

L x

Aww sorry to hear that Lisa BUT there is hope:

Brody was asleep in his crib at 9, he woke at 3am then 8am!!!!!

I cannot believe it, his sleep has been getting better and better this week and I'm sure it's because of my new "regime" If Brody can do it all of you can get there I'm sure. For weeks he was waking every 2 hours, even every hour  but now we do seem to be making real progress.

The new stuff I've ben doing is:

-Never rocking him to sleep for naps (into his crib awake every time unless he's out in the pushchair etc)

- Not picking him up straight away after a nap, he now sleeps for an hour, then wakes for a few mins, then goes back to sleep for another hour! :D (he was only have 20 mins at a time before)

- In the night, I'm ready with bonjela and teething beads to try and get him off again WITHOUT a feed. It's harder at first, but Brody has taught himself to go back to sleep without feeding.

- After every night feed, it's straight back into the crib awake (sometimes 50/50 awake asleep but a bit awake anyway.)

It really works for me girls GOOD LUCK!

Ah i'm so pleased Brody is sleeping better.

must feel like heaven to get more than a couple of hours kip?

think you are doing the right thing in trying not to feed him if he wakes now. if he can go that long sometimes i'm sure he could do it all the time, sometimes its just breaking a habit.

godd luck for tonight - lets hope he keeps it up :D

Great news Urchin!!
You must be really pleased with yourself and Brody!! Well done!

We came back early tonight. Oscar's got a wee bit of a cold. He's sleep has slightly improved, but no doubt, I'll be up with coughs and bloked noses!

haha!

Brody was back to 2 hours last night, but at least the difference now is that i KNOW he can do it. Yesterday he didn't nap much at all (screaming child on the trampoline outside woke him up....it was Mason  )
Trying for better naps today :)

Hope the naps go well today Urchin :D

The little pixie improved slightly this morning - 5.30am  Thank goodness it was Saturday morning and that is D/H turn!!! back to it for me tommorrow though!

Glad I got a lie in cos today we go and meet up with all the parents from the parentcraft group! I think it will be really strange cos last time we saw them all we were all rolling around the floor on beanbags etc and talking about epidurals!

looks like i'm gonna have to join the club again... :(

ruben was sooo good for a while, waking only once in the night, around 4 or 5am. then it slowly crept forward....

he now wants feeding every 2 hours day or night!!! thought it was just a growth spurt first, but this has been going on for a couple of weeks now... i think he's getting hungrier (well he would be at 15lbs 14oz, that's pretty big for 13 weeks...), and i don't seem to be able to keep up with his demand. i have tried everything to increase my supply, in addition to feeding every 2 hours, i also try to find time to express at least once a day, i drink plenty of water and have been conscious of eating extra healthily and well.

he used to sleep from 11pm until 4 or 5 am, and slept through occasionally. the last 2 weeks he has been waking at 2am and 5am without fail, and also wants food every 2 hours during the day. last weekend when OH gave him a bottle as i was out with a friend, he drained over 9oz and wanted more (OH eventually managed to get him to sleep)!!! he woke up 2 hours later hungry again! last night he went down at 11pm as usual, woke at 1.15am, 3.30am, 5am and then finally at 7am. :wall: i can't cope with this much longer... i got so used to him sleeping well (thereby getting a decent kip myself as well!) that going back to how he was seems extra hard...

i posted on another thread
i have 2 different HVs, one says that due to his weight, how hungry he is and the interest he's showing in our food he's prob OK to start on some baby rice, the other is a very strict "no solids before 6 months" person.

it's getting to the point now where i am considering introducing a little baby rice even tough he's not 4 months yet... i was trying to hold out for as long as possible - obviously i don't want to increase his risk of allergies etc, but i am starting to think he is not satisfied by milk alone anymore... :(

Awww petchy!
It does either sound like a growth spurt or baby rice time. Growth spurts can last a couple of weeks, has he put on loads of weight?

About the baby rice thing...I think if you just gave him a few spoons before bed it won't do him any harm as long as you don't replace any milk feeds yet.

However, this didn't make any difference at all with Brody, and with lots of babies they sleep LESS at first when you start weaning.

Just something to think about.

Do you put him down awake all the time? This was definitley where I was going wrong with Brody, most of the time I put him down awake but the few times he goes down asleep always make things worse in the night. I'm trying to break that habit now.

I agree with Urchin, growth spurts can last ages sadly, Seren has one last lasted a couple of weeks but soon levelled out. It was around 14 weks as my HV was the same saying start baby rice but I got to 19 weeks before I cracked :D Seren has been on solids for a week, and still has the boob every hour and a half/ 2 hours. It could be the heat, it could be another growth spurt or it could be that my daughter likes booby too much. Her sleep is still erratic. We had some grewat nights, waking up at 11-12 for a feed then again at 5 but last night it was back to normal. Might give her a steak before bed time lol.

has he put on loads of weight?
not as much as he has been doing before! he has gained though, but is now just between the 75th and the 91st centile, where before (2 wks ago) he was on the 91st exactly (and had been since birth)

Do you put him down awake all the time?
yes, every time! he's very good at going to sleep on his own, and before he'd even settle himself if he woke up and wasn't hungry - so he's def hungry when he wakes these days...

neeeeeeeeed sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep......... yawn...

Awww Petchy - hows it going?

What are his naps like in the daytime?

Are you going to try the babyrice?

Sorry for all the questions!
