The Gestational Diabetes support thread

Well, he was 7lb 13oz on Monday. My mu reckons he will be about 8 and a half lbs by the time he arrives!

I think so! The nursery isn't ready yet, but he is going to be in with us for a while anyway, so we still have time to sort that out :)

Hope everyone is doing okay? I've been moved upto 18 units of the novorapid now, got to see the diabetic consultant on Tuesday, I want custard! An icecream! Not together though :eek:/ lol xxx hugs to all x

ice cream and hot rice pudding is yummy together tho maybe give that a try when ur allowed.

im doing ok on the diabetes front now i have my meds again lol
im making fondant babies for cakes right now and its smells so yummy i want to eat the fondant but im being good

Hi PP, hope you're feeling better now hun? Not long to go until induction...exciting!

I'm ok thanks :) My morning fasting readings seem to be getting higher, not sure why but other than that (fx) I'm managing to work out what meals I can have. Just hating brekkie...I seem to have to have high protein first thing and I hate it. Having a variation of either cheese on toast, turkey bacon on toast or scrambled egg on toast...just find it too heavy for brekkie & almost gagging eating it :( I just want my cereal or yoghurt instead & fruit! Can't wait to be normal again fx :)

Do you girls know if gavisvon or tums affect blood sugars? My acid reflux is returning!

On a positive... Sunday's going to be 18 deg! Finally some nice weather :) xx

Hi bewdleygirl,
I've been using sugar free rennies - i think us pregnant women must keep them in business! ;)

My novorapid is up to 14, 18 and 24 with my humilin at 26 now. I am still waiting to find out if they are going to leave me to go naturally or if they are going to make me have a c section. When did you ladies find out what was going to happen to you xxx

I found out just over a week ago, jimjams. They tend to make a decision on induction at about 36 or 37 weeks in my local areal. But every health authority is different. Ask your diabetic team, they will be able to tell you.

I'm being induced tomorrow! So so scared. But so so excited too!

Good luck for tomorrow openeyes.... Keep us posted will be thinking of you xx

Thanks hun :) I'm sure it will be slow going, so will probably update regularly :) xx

Ooooo fantastic openeyes! Good luck hun! Will be sending lots of positivity your way xxxx

They seem quite high levels for your gestation jimjams, are you diabetic just in pregnancy or diabetic beforehand? I would think they would make your plan based on how big baby is getting at your growth scans etc but latest they will tell you is 35/36 weeks. Maybe ask them at your next appointment what they think the plan will be? X

Ok, girlies! So been here since 10. Propess is in and currently on the monitor. Should be off of it soon. And then it's just a waiting game. My lovely oh is currently asleep in the chair next to me. Bless him!

Just need to wait for the propess to work and then hopefully within the next 24 hours my waters should get broken!

:D wooohooo will be looking out for your updates hun, best of luck with everything :D good that he's sleeping now, he can be awake with you more later lol xxx

Thanks, my love :) I was bricking it this morning. But now I just want him here! It' a sshame this is such a long process!!

Try and keep mobile when you can hun, let gravity work! Xxx when are they checking progress? Xxx

Well, I don't think there will be another internal until tomorrow now. But I'll go back on the monitor in about 6 hours.
