The Gestational Diabetes support thread

I just had tons of discharge/ mucus (sorry way TMI) pinkish brown that I don't know what to make out of it?
Besides that I feel a little better hip wise and I think I will try to have a small walk of even the torrential rain will stop...strongly doubt it though...

My family are doing my head calling me all day asking if sth happening  and properly make a huge deal out of it if I was at the bathroom and don't respond...

Generally can someone tell my bean to get out already???????

Oh and Amy how do you manage to organize all those kids lol... I am alone and yet can't organize myself for the hospital...

Sounds fab hope I'm back having cramps again fx it's something thus time I would rather go naturally
Organising the kids is easy enough just point them in the direction of the fridge lol x

Awww how exciting!!! How are the pains now?? Any progression???

I'm in the bath its more pressure than anything and pain when I walk. X

Maybe is the baby engaging? Or you think early labor? Surely you are an expert by now at all that compared to me that I will not even be able to tell unless my waters brake lol...

Does the bath help a little?

I am living in the bath trying to get rid of these piles before the birth. It was quite a task to get out lol
Babies head is lie thts why I think I'm in so much pain x

Hey girls, how is everyone???

Amy you have been so quiet today that I am wondering if I should say congrats already????:D

i will not bother you with how am I doing, let's just say that please all pray the bean to come sooner than later as not so sure how much more pain I can get :(

The same time I have been a bad girl, forgetting to do my readings all day:roll:
I ate the right things though...

Have a nice Sunday everyone :)

I'm here Hun just been cleaning like a mad woman lol
No bubba for either of us yet that sucks waaaaaah!
Wont be long hun I know it'd hard but just think this time next month we will be laughing at our hormonal selves x

Hello ladies - had my GTT today - results on Wednesday! That was not a fun experiance"! hope your all well xxx

Good luck for your results, hope they come back ok! x

Hey ladies, nobody checked my sugars so no idea if everything back to normal...
I suppose I will see how it will go when I will finally get home and eat that cheesecake and then test..
Meantime i eat whatever it is on hospitals menu and certainty is not low carb...

Amy any labor symptom spotting lol??

Jaxx did you see the new gp already?

Just wanted to say thanks ladies for such an informative thread! And for the help. In light of the dangers of me having the GTT the hospital are issuing me tomorrow with a glucose meter and diary to monitor my sugar levels that way.

Can I just ask, those with GD who manage through diet alone, do you have to have an early delivery? Or is the diet change considered enough to cancel out the GD and they let you carry to term?

Hi girls sorry I haven't been around been in hospital with bp I'm just out will catch up soon x

I went for my blood pressure check Monday morning and i had protein in my urine and raised bp so I was kept in for tests and possible induction. I am glad to be home but frustrated it's minus a baby. I have the hospital again tomorrow and Saturday and Monday they are planning on breaking my waters when I go to be induced. I am glad it'd coming to an end my body had about as much as it can take x

Poor you :( I am glad you are ok, can't wait to meet your lady

How are you doing with the blood sugars? I didn't even have time to do any of them... I also only ate carb stuff as no time to properly cook...
I got 1 h sleep in 3-4 days. I just can't doze off.

You poor thing :hugs:
My sugars are still up and down I see the team again tomorrow at this stage I don't think anything new they do will help much as it will only be for 3 days. X

Willow - I have been battling with my doctors/midwives/consultants ever since finding out that unless it's a threat to either of our lives i will not let them induce me. Of course they keep going on about "their protocol" but did say women can and have refused before. I am currently diet controlled only and hopefully I can keep it that way!
As long as you're not on meds you have a better chance of everything. How often did they ask you to take your blood sugars?

Three times a day one hour after meals, plus a couple of early morning pre breakfast and a couple of random samples each week.

I am reluctant to be talked into an early delivery if I can possibly avoid it, so I can fully appreciate where you are coming from on that one!

My diet is so good that I'm hoping my sugar levels will all be fine!
