The Clomid Thread - 6 BFP's!

I took mine cd2-6 and had 3 cycles of 50mg. Fell pg on the 3rd cycle but if I hadn't they had upped my dose to 100mg. If you are going to take I wouldn't take a higher dose than 50mg as it can overstimulate your ovaries x

so the 2nd day of your period you took it is that correct? ok thanks hun, she's posting them to me so going 2 have a look xx

Yeah - be prepared for proper hot sweats and horrendous mood swings lol

Hi Charlie, silly question but I'm just curious does having half a womb affect your cycle length at all or was that the mild pcos?x

No it was the pcos that was causing it as far as I'm aware. My half womb couldn't be detected with an ultrasound, it was found after a hsg X-ray. I still have 2 ovaries tho. I think the whole womb is there but only half has formed a cavity inside. Apparently it's large enough to conceive but my more dominant ovary is the one on my bad side. So I'm hoping the clomid gives my other one a boost! I find out on Wednesday If I have 2 kidneys as its common to only have 1 with this condition. Oh the joys of ttc! Haha U have to laugh or u will cry! Xx

oh really?? :s i'm moody at the best of times lol xx

My first month was the worst for side effects! I was so moody! I was like a psycho! The second month I was great! Even leading up to af, I normally have bad pmt without clomid but I didn't have a single mood swing, didn't even feel like af was going to show.

The first month I was worst just after ov, crying constantly and the worst headache I've ever experienced in my life.

On cycle 3 now so hoping my body is getting used to it nicely and I'll be hopefully greeted with a BFP instead of the witch in 27 days time! Xx

Hiya girlies! Not been on the clomid thread in a while! How is everyone doing? Well I'm CD2 today, starting my 6th and final round of clomid :( Boooo! Going to be taking EPO, Drinking lots of water, charting and lots and lots of BDing! Have any of you heard of it working on the final round? I don't think I have but oh well got to stay optimistic xx

Hi all, I've not posted for a while as life has been stressful and there's been a lot going on, including the fact that we are getting married in 9 weeks time!!
Anyways I have now tried 3 months worth clomid, which was the maximum amount my GP was willing to prescribe me and unfortunately we have had no BFP :( nor have I had a period. In fact it's been over 237 days since my last one!! I was diagnosed with PCOS a couple of months ago and we also found out that OH has a low sperm count.
However the good news is, that because my GP has been brilliant (which I am very grateful for, as I hear lots of people struggling with getting help from their's) we were referred to a specialist and therefore we now have an appointment with the fertility specialist tomorrow!! :D
My OH & I want to write a list of all the questions we think we should ask, but do any of you ladies have ideas on things that we should ask? Any suggestions would be much appreciated :) .x

Hi Sianey,
How did the appointment go? Sorry I didn't respond in time for your appointment but hopefully you got lots of hopeful and useful info. If you need any info, just ask and we'll do our very best. I too have PCOS and hubby has low sperm count. I've had months of Clomid and ICSI, which failed at implantation stage so I have quite a bit of experience of treatments.

Hi there and thanks for the interest!
We had a very positive appointment and have been given a lot of hope! Apparently the lab that tested my OH's sample last time requested another test to be repeated in 3 months (this was back in March). We weren't told about this but apparently it's standard when the results are 'abnormal'. The specialist believes that it was low possibly because we had to take the sample 40mins in the car to deliver it purely because that's the closest hospital to us that does the testing and they don't provide facilities to provide a sample!! So stupid! The specialist suggested that we camp out near the hospital! lol
Anyways, the specialist prescribed me Provora to try and induce a withdrawal bleed (due to my lack of periods). I have to take 2 of these a day for 10days. I have also been prescribed 6months worth of Clomid but 100mg this time instead of 50mg! However, if the Provora doesn't cause a bleed I'm not actually sure when I'm meant to start taking the Clomid again. I was given so much information I don't know if we even discussed it! I have also been prescribed Metformin 500mg, to try and help me lose weight which may well help my PCOS. I'm not greatly overweight but at the same time I am not as slim and healthy as I use to be and need to be!! The specialist was lovely and so helpful and really positive that the Metformin would help me lose weight! I'm only taking the one 500mg Metformin tablet at the moment, however I can take up to 3 a day providing that I'm not having any nasty side affects. It's only day 2 of taking them but I feel fine at the moment.
Honestly I feel so happy and positive about things and I really hope this kick starts my body again! If I do have a bleed I have to then go for a blood test on day 21 to check that I am in fact producing eggs. If I'm not producing eggs and nothing is happening I will have to be checked to see if my tubes are blocked but the Doctor wanted to avoid that for now as obviously its pretty invasive. I really hope that everything is ok but at the moment I'm not worrying about everything as stress wont help matters! Unfortunately I can't avoid all stress as I'm due to move house a week on Saturday and my wedding is less than 9weeks away! Eeeeek!! But I'm gonna do my up most to remain positive and calm!
If any of you ladies have experienced any of these medicines, I'd really like to hear your feed back on them. Sorry for the essay and good luck to everyone else ttc! .x.x.

Hi,

New to these forums, been ttc for three years, had BMI of 34, told to loose weight, did lighter life now weight 12 stone consultant prescribed l00mg clomid for 6 months. First cylçe, negative and I'm gutted as in the disappointment I forgot to take the clomid days 2-6, now on day 13 I'm feeling nauseas and vomited and the last thing I want to do is try, feeling depressed as another month slips passed.

It's the biggest waiting game, and I live my live by every two week.

Good luck all

Sianey,

That is great you feel so positive - hang on to that!

I started on 100mg of Clomid which didn't work for me, as shown by the 21 day blood tests. I was then quickly moved on to 150mg (which 2 doctors and a nurse have subsquently given me the wide-eyed look as to why I was subscribed so much when I am not overweight ) Anyway, since January I have been on Metformin also and it has started to really help. Well, I thought it had since I had gone from an 11 week cycle following ICSI failure, to an 8 week cycle and then a 28 day one last month! Never had that just with Clomid. However, now I am 9 days late and don't know what the heck is going on. I am too scared to take a test as I had some awful news last Friday (my dad took his own life quite horrifically) so I am guessing the shock has knocked me sideways and things may not return to normal for a good while. So yes, stress can affect you. But fingers crossed that Clomid is the answer for you.

Any more questions or anything along the way, just ask, we'll do ur best.

Jacq xx

Hi Cornwall,

Don't lose hope yet, it is still very early days. I know when I started clomid I thought it was going to be the magic answer and it would only take one go. Are you having 21 day blood tests to check that you definitely did ovulate? The reason I ask is that 100mg didn't work for me and I had to be upped to 150mg, which is pretty high, but did work for me.

Hang in there, and remember we are all here to help and support you.

Jacq xx

Oh my Jacq23, I am so sorry for your loss. That is such terrible news. I can understand your hesitancy when it comes to taking a test. I think you're probably right leaving testing for now as the shock/stress may well have interfered with your cycle & you probably don't want the possible disappointment of a negative test.
However, I really hope that you do get a bfp if you don't get af and do decide to test. It may well be the thing to get you through this hard time. Fingers crossed.
And Cornwall, please don't lose hope! I have been through so many emotional ups and downs and we have only been ttc for 7 months. I really believe in positive thinking, it has helped me get through my really low points. This is what the forum is for, help, advice and most importantly support from people in a similar situation.
Again best of luck to all of you! .x.x.

Oh jacq I'm so sorry about your dad. That is so shocking. Hope you're looking after yourself and taking the time to grieve. I lost my dad almost 8 years ago and the pain does ease over time but it's a heartbreaking process. Hugs xxx

Thanks Kay Kay....well here is the world turned around on its head for me... are you ready for this....?!

:bfp:

OMFG I cannot believe it!! Who knew that Clomid Round 9 would be the lucky one? Well, a combo of Clomid 150mg, Metformin and Activ Balance (I think, or Conceive Plus or something) fertility gel, plus going at it like rabbits.

After my dad killing himself, this is something to lift our family, especially mum. I am more than 6 weeks as I just could not face taking a test with all that has gone on in the last few weeks.

Please everyone pray for this sticky bean.....!

OMG OMG OMG :stork:
