If you want an argument you've picked the wrong person. I'm not gonna bite. Do you you want, say b***ocks to your husband in a church, send your kids to a catholic school whoo hoo. I couldn't be less interested.

anyway.. back to the topic.. how do people feel about recycling? is your council doing enough in regards to it? my council collects bins once a week.. and recycles paper, grass, glass and cans and plastics.. we re-cycle our food waste by giving it to our chickens and ducks (all food except meat)

Well we did well to get to 22 pages of lively debate without it turning into an argument didn't we

We can make a new post about recycling if you want, have we covered enough in this thread yet, do you think?

Recycling. Our council does partake, however, working in the energy to waste sector I can tell you that the council doesnt have the capacity to actually recycle the amount of things it tells us to seperate and collect.

So when you go to a landfill you will find that a good percentage of the waste they get us to recycle ends up going into the landfill anyway!!

 I've really enjoyed this thread and I'm glad we all had a chance to voice our opinions. Ok  I'm a bit cranky today and I really didn't want to go down that whole christeneing/wedding route again. Remember we had a thread about it ages ago? Plus I don't like being spoken to like I'm a naughty kid, I get enough of that from my OH thanks! :rotfl:

As for recycling I'm doing my bit this year by not sending xmas cards and not wrapping the adults pressie's. I expect my recycling wheelie bin will still be overflowing though come boxing day!!!

Lou :)

ONCE A WEEK... OMG the smell... :puke: :puke: :puke: I think I would die if I had to go put rubbish in the bins and they only got emptied once a week... It would be like...cockroaches EVERYWHERE :puke: :puke: :puke: It's bad enough when the bin men go on strike over the summer and only collect the rubbish twice a week

I won't give my opinion... it's all been said.

Ooh.I give old clothes etc to the charity shops.Newspapers are used to set the fire etc.Bottles, plastic etc goes in the recycling bank in the village. We have a compost heap and...like you,we have a chicken & duck recycling plant  they're very useful aren't they

 Last time i looked at this thread it was 11 pages... now look at it.. you ladies can talk  :x

recycle everything I can at home - annoys me that businesses are still charged if they want to send their paper for recycling - which means- you guessed it - they don't

I reuse as much paper as possible at work but anything that can't be reused or has to be shredded goes straight in the bin :(

I used to chew scraps of paper when I was younger.I suppose that's recycling of a type
