All Americans are airheads and thick.
The French eat frogs legs & croissants and wear stripey jumpers.
All Germans are Nazis'
All football fans are hooligans
All SAs' are racists
etc.etc.etc.....

And all the above are how we have conveived them. It's completely normal, therefor, it is not breaking news that "All Muslims are Terrorists".

We have to take responsibility for the impressions we give others of ourselves. We are how others see us!

Hmm but surely we have a responsibility to educate ourselves so these prejudices do not stay with us. The German's are Nazi's one, well yes there are still neo nazi's in Germany, as there are in Italy, England etc but the war ended over 60 years ago. Germany has not been a Nazi country for a long time yet it is still a common belief. i don't see how the German's should still be thought of as tjhis, and what more they can do?

Yes it is but I feel as a parent I have a responsibility to bring up my child away from all these stereotypes. I want Seren to be able to question her views and beleiefs. Idealistic maybe but I can but try.

Its hard for me to say as I haven't but I imagine I would feel a great deal of anger and hatred towards the scum that did it. Nowhere have I said terrorism is acceptable. My point is merely it is wrong to presume all British Muslims as terrorists and that alot of this is due to ignorance about the muslim faith. I personally believe that ANY form of terrorism whoever it is directed at, or whoever is doing it is wrong and cowardly. That goes for 7.7, 9/11, Oklahoma bombing, animal activists etc etc.

There are fundamentalist Christians out there - Timothy Mc Veigh, responsible for the deadliest incident of domestic terrorism in U.S. history to date, the Oklahoma bombing which resulted in the death of 168 people, including 19 children. Are all Christians terrorists? Terrorists who say they are muslim does not = muslims are terrorists. They hide behind religion.
