sorry for the delay ladies was a bit frantic there for a bit. So called the hospital and the lady took some details then passed me to the midwife and said "Vicki thinks her waters have broken...". I'm sitting on the loo with soaking wet leggings round my ankles, trail of waters leading to the loo and Niagra falls taking place down the pan whilst I'm on the phone thinking that I'm pretty definite my waters have broken lol.

Anyway, they said keep an eye on baby's movements and they weren't concerned as waters were clear. If nothing happens over night then I've to go in between 8 and 9 tomorrow and they'll try and stimulate labour?? Assuming a sweep? I'll then get sent home and if nothing else happens get induced on Monday....yikes.

No pain or twinges whatsoever. My mum came over with her overnight bag and we're currently sitting watching Alan Carr before heading to bed.

I'm excited, nervous & calm all at the same time. The only sad part is that whilst I'm waiting to have contractions my hubby is snoozing away in his bed in China oblivious to it all. He'll be absolutely gutted as his flights are booked for next weekend which we thought was plenty of time but there's not much we can do. He may be able to get an earlier flight but he def won't be home in time Will need to call him tomorrow to let him know what's happening. I'm getting emotional though at the though of meeting him at the airport with Junior x

I'll try and hold on until Tuesday so that I'm start part of the October Mummy thread xx

Just goes to show that it can happen at any time. I was still only 4/5 ths engaged so 1/5 th in pelvis at last MW appt and haven't even had so much as a twinge. I did have a bit of brown discharge last Sunday which I'm fairly confident must have been my show but no mucus plug or BH.

Enjoy the footy Clarebear, I'm sure you'll be fine. I was out shopping at Costco with my friend today and just keep thinking I'm so glad they didn't go in the store as it would have been so embarrassing although I'd maybe have got free nappies or something x

Well Vicky, something tells me you are going to be leaving us October mummies!! Can't believe it, you lucky thing, such a shame about hubby, but just goes to show you can't plan these things - babies do what they want!

I have had a hideous nights 'sleep' up eight times in the night, with painful Braxton hicks, needed the loo, being uncomfortable. I feel terrible, but couldn't even lie in, as its so uncomfortable, there is no pleasure in it. Sorry girls, woken up in a right grump today

Vicky, such a shame about your hubby. I do think you're going to be cuddling bubs very soon. I'm slightly disappointed your waters didn't go in Costco. I love the place. I'd happily hang round there if I knew you got Costco freebies for your waters going.....even if it was just a free pizza

Haven't slept a wink as I stayed awake all night waiting for something to happen. The something happening started at about 4 with some mild contractions and then when I went to the toilet there was blood like a period type bleed. The same thing happened a couple of hours later so called the hospital and they said to come down when i could just to check everything over. Got there at about half 7 and was put on a trace and baby is fine. She said that blood is just more of my show and is absolutely fine. As soon as I got up off the bed to leave my contractions started coming more frequently but not frequent enough. Had an uncomfortable drive home and now debating whether to try and sleep for a bit. The MW said she expects me back in tonight but if not I'm booked in Monday at 8am for an induction

Just off Skype to hubby and I bubbled when I told him that he was going to miss it. He was at his work and I could see him frantically looking at his calendar on the wall like there would be an answer there for him getting home on time bless him. We're fine though and ended up having a laugh about things and he's going to try and change his flight to get home on Wednesday. He's actually said that he doesn't want me to let him know what sex the baby is as he wants a surprise when he's home. I don't know if he's planning to whip it's nappy off at the arrival gate lol x
