*******~~~October Mummies~~~*******

Sweetie that sounds like such a mission. I've found that consultant and midwife seem to say the opposite things a lot too.

We're fully baked! 37 weeks today! Why did every 9 months of TTC feel like forever yet this time is flying by so fast?

Also same for SunnyGirl if she sees this xxx

Hi Gemsy,
I was just wondering if you'd update the first page of our lovely sparkly thread as we seem to have had a wee bit of an influx of bubbas and it would be nice to see them on the front!
I'm on mat leave now and have nothing better t do than haunt these pages so sorry if I'm over stepping the mark. :)

Yes, I will do.....ooops....I forgot about putting babies on there!

Well ladies. I might be going sooner rather than later. Had the midwife today for 38 week check and my blood pressure was a bit too high so she sent me up to triage. Was put on a trace and had bloods and urine taken and pressure taken a few times. Still coming up as a bit high so they said to go back again on Friday to have the whole palaver again. The doc did start talking about medication for the pressure or if not then maybe starting things off next week.
Fingers crossed things go back to normal because I really don't want any sort of drugs if I don't have to.

Fingers crossed for you hun - I am back in tomorrow morning, for BP check and urine/bloods. Hoping mine is behaving!

Well what a difference a day makes! I went back to clinic yesterday for second round of steroids and got the same midwife as Tuesday. She rang delivery ward again and got a cancellation for Friday so my c-section is now happening tomorrow morning!! Honest to god I was so happy and surprised I could have kissed her! She said she felt so bad for me after my Tues appointment what with all the conflicting advice I was given and seemed genuinely pleased she was able to help!

Only problem is that I can't sleep at all!! I slept from midnight to 4.30am on Tuesday night and last night just from 11pm-1.30am!! It's awful when your body doesn't do what you want it to.

Anyhoo I hope everyone else is feeling grand xxx

That's brilliant news Sweetiepie. Can't believe your twinnies will be here tomorrow.

Good grief! I'm shattered after only one morning of looking after DS. I wish I could nap but I'm having my roots done over lunch. At least DS is napping now. I'm hoping he has a long one, he's always knackered after his nursery days.

Good luck sweetiepie!!!

Well I am out of MLU now :( consultant came to see me this morning, when I was in day assessment, she said even though my BP is behaving-ish now, with my history, she thinks I have a 30% chance of developing eclampsia either during or after labour. Obviously this could then lead to seizures and/or stroke. She said I really don't want to be blue lighted from MLU to hospital with all the stresses that bring and she would highly recommend a consultant led delivery.

For me, 30% is just too high a risk to myself and baby, so I've decided to deliver in hospital. I'm gutted, but they have said I can have minimal monitoring, and an active and hopefully water birth too. Its just that I will be right there if they need to do anything about my BP.

Oh - I haven't forgotten I need to update with deliveries, just need to get a moment when I have time to collate all the info!!

Gemsy I'm sorry but agree you've got to protect the both of you. It's been a real roller coaster for you hads't it. Getting you n bubs safely through it is the priority x

Girls, I think we are up to date on the first page - please let me know if I have missed anyone!

Has anyone heard from Sweetiepie? She must have her little ones by now!

Having a bit of a down day today :( I will write another thread about it I think! Hope you're all doing ok. x

Wow, theres been rather a lot who have popped already hasn't there!?
Shame you haven't had a great day Gemsy. Hope things pick up for you. I had my blood pressure and what not checked again today and it is still a bit high but still ok-ish. Just got to be checked again on Monday. Bubba is sitting nice and low now, I think she said 3/5ths.

Hey Ladies, sorry for taking so long to update but it's just been manic.

I'll need to type up a birth story but ended up going in on the Monday morning for 8am to get induced. Turns out I was already 4 cm so they gave me something in a drip to bring the contractions closer together. I was coping well with the pain and then it seemed to get out of control. At the point when I was desperate for pain relief and distraught that she said it would take an hour for diamorphine she ended up checking me again and low and behold I was ready to push. She said "do you think you could manage a wee push for me..." and then it all just went really fast. Before I knew it he was out, my mum had cut the cord and he was lying on my chest :) Think it only took about 2 hrs

I was told the whole way through that he was a big baby but he was only 6lbs 15 bless him. Hubby got back from China on the Wednesday in time to pick us up from the hospital and then it's just been a blur since then, but a lovely blur all the same. No names yet as we can't agree and hubby was convinced it was a girl so he's just called Yogababy just now :) I hope you're all doing well and I'll try and have a look at everyone's updates. Can't believe this time last week I was shampooing my waters off the livingroom carpet and now I'm sitting here with my wee bundle in his moses basket. Good Luck everyone, and I hope to see some more bubbas flying out over the next couple of weeks xx
