.. October 2016 Mummies - First Trimester ..

Well, it finally happened, I spewed my guts up last night! Think I ate too late and it just didn't agree with me. I won't complain though as I've managed to get to 10+4 without being sick! Made me really feel for you ladies that have been through the mill with sickness, it really hurt my belly! x

I wasnt sick until after 10w. Its worse because the hormones slow the digestion process to get the most from your food. So usually it tends to be quite heavy food that you bring up.

I was only sick like 3 times but its left again now. So must be the hormone surge at 10w.

I was sick the whole way last time, so this is a dream in comparison

Yeah I had a home made curry on Friday, brought that up 30 mins later (I think just too heavy) then I think the Sunday night I had a KFC which was fine but the next morning I woke and was sick the KFC  so it had obviously been sitting there all night.

Past few nights Ive ate things not to high in fat etc as that causes acid for me which would make sick awful. It burns my insides. So I had a home made chippy tea the other night and last night chicken salad. Heavens knows what Ill have tonight.

Well i thought i was spared being sick cause my nauseas been awful but nope. Puked my guts up after breakfast :( husband sat and laughed because i was all happy to eat abput 20 mins earlier. Short lived though and back to not eating. I knew breakfast two morning in a row was too good to be true!

Bless you! Hope it eases off soon! I've come home from work as its really took it out of me having such a restless sleep and my throat is raw. Just praying it's a one off! x

Christ I darent come home from work. Last week when I had a stomach bug I was up during the night being sick, came in feeling like a zombie and emailed my manager - she ignored me the whole day so I phoned her and her first question was "is this pregnancy related" ummm Im not bloody sure! probably!

Ive not felt any worse tbh.

If I go home early Id just come in to more work so, may aswell stay

I'v only been sick once and that was after chips and curry sauce, haven't thrown up since but just feel constantly sick X x

My manager asked me today while walking to a meeting how long I was planning to take off for maternity leave. I'd not even thought of anything less than the full year but just said I wasn't sure. I get that they need to find cover but I'm only 11 weeks!

You don't have to make that decision or inform them just now, you need your matb1 form to apply and you don't get that until 24 weeks xx

Thank goodness for that. I don't want to make any decisions without talking to family first xx

Oh and does anyone know if there's anything stronger than paracetamol that we can take? My migraine is killing me today and paracetamol isn't touching it at all.

Karen is right on her comment. You dont evem need to think about atm. Just keep happy and healthy. Alert them when you need to. My manager hasnt asked me yet but I have a team of people and a couple new starts so she prob isnt worried.

About the migraines. I suffer terribly hadnt had one in months and then a few weeks ago a solid week of migraine with aura and losing my vision upto twice a day. Then a pressure migraine afterwards. Bloody awful.

Anyway I went to the GP who didnt wanna give me anything risky or like not proven safe at this stage in the pregnancy but she gave me 500mg cocodamol. Ive only taken them twice actually but the migraines have left for now. They didnt take it away but I guess took the edge off atleast. Paracetamol dont even dent mine. I was previously on a prophylactic indometacin for them before pregnancy and ttc but I couldnt manage on Patacetamol.

Crap thing is (no pun intended), the codeine can constipate you...

Hope you feel better soon!!

Thanks Claire. I don't get auras and such so I'm lucky with that. Usually stronger ibrofen does the trick if I take it straight away, it stops the migraine before it properly starts. I've had this one for 2 days now but it doesn't seem as bad as usual. I'll give cocodamol a go and ask the pharmacist what mg they can give me. xxx

Hi all

I had my booking in appointment today. All went fine. Although my bmi is 37 and that's with me having lost a stone since jan!!! The midwife was nonplussed about it and to be honest I've always weighed heavier than I look even when I was a size 8 I was 9stone 7 and I'm only 5 foot 2!

Got my ready steady baby book which I flicked through tonight with my 7 year old and read to her about the baby at 11 weeks. Was nice.

So next app is scan in 2 weeks when I will be 13+5.xx

I know this might not help but maybe worth a shot, some lavender oil on the temples or wrists. Maybe worth checking it's safe in pregnancy x

Yeah your pharmacist or GP will help. As I say my GP didnt wanna prescribe anything not safe esp with a previous loss and Im sure as long as your not eating them, 2 are fine for a migraine. Im sure your gp or pharmacist will confirm though ;) no warnings according to the medical BNF that the drs go by. Can even in special circumstances have it during breast feeding as small amounts of codeine pose no harm..

It was a 3 day headache that pushed me to the GP too.
