*** November 2014 Mum's ***

Definitely do that just be aware may reduce in sales :-/

Oh njp I wondered where you had gotten to hope frankies ok and they get her sorted asap. A few Nov babies have had that recently I find it bizarre there's so many but imagine it's rife this time of year as newborns in winter can never be good huh.

Oh thats not good NJP, at least you're in the right place though. Fingers crossed she's feeling better soon and you can both be back at home.

My dad just rang me, there's a high possibility he's going to be in hospital over Christmas. Although it's partly voluntary as he's been waiting for a bed at this special physio place for ages and as he's still bed bound its not like he's going to miss much not being at home on Christmas day.

Forgot about the sales kaa....may try before Christmas then see what they say then try at a different mothercare after Christmas if they say no! Haha

Looks like everyone is going into hospital over Christmas! Good that your dad has a place lined up even if the timing isn't great.

I'd try to return it for a full refund before Christmas then see if the one you want is in the sale ;)

Apparently bronchiolitis is one of the main causes of admissions in the children's unit at this time of year. When we first got here we were on the ward with loads of screaming kids, it was awful, the nurses must go home with banging headaches. We're in a side room now. Suits me, not having to make small talk with people!

Njp...glad you are in the right place and frankie is getting the care she needed. Must be nice to see some visible improvements too...take care and use the midwife care if you can and catch up on some zzzzzzzz.

I too have been using warm mattress to settle Imogen i use a wheat bag heated in mircrowave and a hot water bottle. The water bottle is still an ok temp at 4am but useless after that. We also use white noise to help her settle.

Thanks re grandma..she had an opp this afternoon that went well.

Mellie..despite having signed up to mothercare, i seem to remember the only reason i could access there pre-sale website was because you kindly sent me a link...if you get another link..would you kindly share it again..i got loads of bargins in the summer.

Wishing you all goodsleep...especially little Frankie in hospital ...xxx

I tried white noise with Jake and he just didn't seem bothered by it at all. Which was disappointing as I wanted to get him ewan the dream sheep.

Yes apple if I get another link I'll share. I'm personally looking forward to the asda sale, last year it started on xmas eve and I went crazy! So this year with baby things to buy I dread to think how much I'll spend. I wish all shops did a full sale online too.

Nice that you're in a side room now, hopefully that means you'll get more sleep as all the other children won't be waking you both up.

The number of times i ask friends where they got baby outfits i like and the reply is from either Asda or Boots i need to get on it...

I've only looked at boots a couple of times found they have a lot nicer girl collection than boy.

Ffs just wrote a huge message and it disappeared argh!!

Njp glad u managed get a side room hope it helps u to get some rest too. How did u get on during the night?

Apple good news that op went well :)
Sometimes white noise works but think depends what mood she in haha. My nans bought her the sheep for Xmas so hope it works for her.

Only time been up in night is now for a feed so good night yay! Just need her to stop wriggling and settle to sleep coz I can barely keep my eyes open :-/ and hubby snoring next to me making me want to punch him in the back of the head!! Ha.

Lucky you Kaa, I've had an hours sleep so far. I don't know what it is but every Wednesday night for the past 3 weeks Jake has been an absolute pain and barely slept!

Oh mellie... How frustrating

I have had a good night slept from 2am-6am and having a sleepy feed so straight back to sleep...always have an awkward feed around midnight...where she has eyes open and just wants boob.

She doesnt show much interest in ewan...but i guess thats not the point...it just hangs of her moses basket...i dont know how much it contributes to sleep really

Mellie hope you got some more sleep this morning. The night before last I got none too, I was sat up in bed all night trying not to nod off with her in my arms, it's so exhausting.

Kaa, hopefully faith will be getting to the stage where you can start going longer in the night soon.

Apple glad your grandma's op went well.

I had a better night last night. I woke at 2am to be told they were going to put a feeding tube in because me feeding her was too unsettling, taking her out of the oxygen box. She screamed and screamed when they intubated but once the food was in her belly she settled. Because I can't tube-feed her, I managed to sleep through the next feed so got a bit more rest than I have in previous nights. Her heart rate has come down a lot now, it was regularly near 200bpm last night and is now around 150. I think we'll be in another day or two, you can tell she's still fighting off the infection.

I am bored shitless! I have one magazine and my phone. Fortunately I have free WiFi so might get Netflix going later.

Christmas is going to be such a rush job. My family presents need picking up from various click & collect places and I think I'll miss the last post on them. I haven't started the food shopping yet so will have to rush that through next week, was hoping to have everything except fresh veg bought by now.

I'd make note of what happens on a Wed see if it's something that reveals a pattern.

Hopefully u will get a good sleep tonight too Apple.

Oh that's good u got some rest njp but poor little Frankie. At least it's all doing her good and she's improving. Bit rubbish ur stuck in there bored though good idea with Netflix though. Hope ur out soon and can get all sorted and settled for Xmas :)

A couple of days more isn't too bad as long as you're out in time for Christmas and she's all better.

If you have free wi fi why don't you have a look at ordering your Christmas food shop online too, you can do click and collect with your food at Asda and its normally free. Obviously fresh things you might still want to get yourself as you don't know if they'll pick the good veg that you would.

Annoying thing is I haven't done the same thing on any of these Wednesdays, so no idea why it always seems to be on a Wednesday.

Been to see my Grandparents today, got some pictures of them with Jake. Shane's Grandma dying made me realise how blessed both Jake and I are to still have mine so had to make sure I got pictures of them.

NJP, do you get a proper bed next to Frankie or do you have to sleep on a chair?

I have a chair that pulls out into a bed, it goes fully flat so is comfortable enough.

Online shopping is a good idea, will have to look into it. I need to write a full list of stuff we need.

Frankie is doing okay, she's out of the oxygen box and has the little nose tubes feeding oxygen in now, problem is she keeps pulling them out. I don't think we'll be home tomorrow, hopefully over the weekend.

The WiFi has blocked streaming services so no Netflix! How rude!

Mellie, I know what you mean about grandparents. I've only got one left & I really want to get up and see her because she's in her late 80s and want her to meet Frankie soon.

My milk is drying up a bit, trying to pump regularly but the left is giving off about 30/40mls whereas it was giving off about 120 previously. Hoping it will come back okay.

Oh no I hope your milk comes back, I never even thought that could dry it up. Just try and pump as much as you can.

Good news that she's out of the oxygen box, can't be nice having tubes her nose especially when she doesn't know what's going on. Bless her.

All of mine and OHs family have met Jake now, although stupidly I didn't get pictures of half of them with him as I was too busy in my newborn whirlwind. Got a lovely one of my mom with Jake and my niece yday. Although it looks like none of them are related. My moms blonde, my niece is ginger and Jakes got brown hair and dark skin! Haha

Haha, I knew a family like that, it was like all the kids had been adopted, they were all so different.

That's nice that the whole family have met him now. You'll just have to do more visits for photos!

I'm hoping that it will come back with regular pumping. I was so tired last night I didn't get up to pump at all, stupid. They've stopped doing that rock hard and leaking every few hours thing.

Njp...glad frankie is doing well...i would try and enjoy the rest while you have the hospital help..i know you would much rather her be well and at home...but just remember it wont be for ever.

Re pumping...i get verious amounts of milk expressed sometimes i get very little other times i get quite alot.

Mellie..thats funny about your family looking different.

Aw great she's out and in a normal cot are they still tube feeding her? Make sure u are eating and drinking enough too. Hopefully that will help ensure u continue to provide a good amount of milk.

Having lost my grandad and uncle last year then my other grandad this week I know how important it is to get these special times and take lots of pictures which I still haven't done, stupidly :-/

Hope we all have a good night tonight. Last of my Xmas shopping tomorrow then all done just need to get them all wrapped and under the tree on wrapping day :)

You have a wrapping day? That makes it sound like there's an official public holiday dedicated to wrapping! I practically have everything now, just need to pick up some glasses I had made tomorrow, going to start wrapping things tomorrow as they're all just dotted around the house at the moment.

I think I'm in for another rubbish night, I've slept for an hour so far and that was only because Shane had him. Fortunately he's on lates tomorrow so means he's about tomorrow morning, so I've left a bottle of expressed milk in the fridge so he can take him downstairs while I sleep hopefully.

NJP, get oats down you to increase supply think fennel tea is meant to aswell although I don't know how it tastes.

Mellie..i too think im in for a LONG night...Imogen took a bottle of expressed milk this afternoon at 4pm and has been grumpy and unsetteled ever since. (we are planning to go out tomorrow night and inlaws are baby sitting..so gotnher to practice feeding him a bottle) he took one expressed bottle the other night really well from OH but since 4pm today she has been upset...she also looks like she has a touch of nappy rash..its slightly red and spotty..(i always use sudocream so no idea how that happened...mother in law has been doing alot of nappies recently so putting blame on her. )

Other moan is my nipples really hurt..i assume from too much expressing...not cracked but just toe crunching sensation when she latches on.
