News post for Labour signs for 37 weeks +++ ladies

I've had that... Mine was a bit lumpy, and the texture of the glue on pritt stick

When I told my MW, she said it was just discharge unfortunately, not a show

Oh. Well thats OK.... :) Mine was very jelly like and stringy...

I think I just joined this thread! :D

Hiya Steelgoddess!

Dawn

I have nothing happening..

Yesterday in consultants appointment when they checked me over- said baby is going to be about 7llbs...I thought that was small..they said yes small compared to 8-10llbers but right for my size.. I am 5ft 7 and a half...I never forget the half haha - but thought that might have produced a slightly bigger baby...

I know the size is only approximate but it means labour might be a little easier? wishful thinking...
I was also told I could be a week late... - reason for that? As I have had no symptoms so far...

I feel tired, heartburn and nothing more...

That's bollox!!!!!!

You're 38 weeks for gods sake! You could lose your plug tomorrow and start getting loads of signs!! If you were right at your due date or something then I could understand it! But they can't predict how things will be in 2 weeks time!!

IGNORE THEM! x

Neev I know how important that extra half inch is - i am also 5ft 7 and a half :cheer:

Were they checking you by having a feel? How interesting if they turn out to be right :D My midwife said I wasn't going to be giving birth to a petite 6 or 7 pounder on account of my height :( I have my 38 weeks appointment tomorrow so might ask them what they think about weight and when he might arrive.

I'm thinking that size has to have a bearing on how difficult birthing is although my friend said that you should take into account the size of your hips too! Hope yours is a nice and easy labour though (and mine too) ;)

My symptoms today are period type twinges and little bit of a sore back. Oh and yesterday I was meeting a friend's 6 week old baby and she blatantly kept trying to root for my boobs (the baby not my friend)

Daffodil, jelly sounds promising, I haven't had anything like it, was it a lot?

And hey Sharne

I had to clarify, I know what dirty minds you lot have ;) Also was a bit embarrassing so I passed her over to my OH to hold and he said he thought she was trying to do the same to him, so perhaps it wasn't a imminent labour sign or anything

Trust me a baby will try and latch on to anything and anyone!!! Including your arm if they can get good suction on it!! Tally tried to eat baby daddies mums boobs when she held her before, and she's tried to find Dave's boobies too.

Heh, I shall tell OH that, he'll feel better - he thought the baby was trying to imply he had man boobs!

I know Dannii...I think I was showing eagerness that I would rather have the LO early because just by a few days he would be missing a year in school (3rd september - 3 days - 1 year behind in school). So she was adamant that the way things are going, especially it being 1st pregnancy and I having no symptoms that I am most probably going to be upto a week late. So I have a provisional appt with the consultant on 10th September!! ha - my birthday too...

Mildly I know - hubby often says I have lost my half inch with that perfect slouch I carry these days.

They were checking the size of the baby by feeling it and she said the height is fine, the baby is fine, DH asked can they tell what size it might be? Her answer was - oh it is a little one, near to 7llbs at time of birth. I think by size she meant the size of bump and height...my bump isnt that huge but she also said not to worry - it is healthy and perfect for your size. So I think that was more a reassurance

Size does matter ...for birthing .. so maybe it could be easy slithery birth? Fingers crossed eh....lets all have pain free birth....I am dreaming now right?

I'd say about a level teaspoon full. No sign of blood in it though. Now for the rest of today every time I go to loo I get a really tiny amount of it but its still really stringy.

I've also poo'd about 3 times in the last 5 hours (TMI sorry) and I feel a bit sick. Also I feel hot more than normal, but I don't know if that means anything.

But I bet you nothing will happen now lol. I read online that your discharge can just mean your cervix is "ripening" and you could still be another couple of weeks anyway.

Neev: Its my birthday September 14th and due date 12th! :D

Dawn

OK TMI ALERT...

Last night when i was in the bath and I rolled over and saw something... It looked like a jellyfish when I saw it and when i took it out the bath it was like a big ol blob of mucus kind of like wall paper paste. Whats that??

Recently been getting HEAVY backaches and mild periody type pains...
My moods are weird also they either very up or very very down
Tightening of tumy where it feels like its being stretched to the max...

All this and I bet you I come late :rotfl: Although I do think i'll come early...

:( POSS TMI ALERT! :(

After my upbeat update this morning I now have a bit of a progression.

I went for a walk to the post office this afternoon and on the way back I had to stop for a while (Nichola loved it cos she got to play in the park for a bit) cos I was in agony with my back and bump.

Then when we got home I cooked tea and once we'd eaten I erupted :puke: into the kitchen sink . Then shortly after I started getting stinging squeezes in the top of my bump with a really high temp (42*C). I started to worry so I rang the community midwives for some advice, I got the answer machine. I thought "I'll be ok they'll ring back in a bit".

Then things got worse. Real bad squeezes and cramps 5-10 mins apart so when hubby came in from work I had a shower to see if that would ease a little - it didn't - so I rang the ward and got told to come in to be checked over.

Got told my pee was fine, temp is a little high, but not to worry, and that I'm having contractions!! But they need to get 10 times worse. She did an internal exam and said that my cervix is favourable and did a sweep!! Still getting regular painful cramps now. I'm about to take some paracetamol and have a soak so I can have a chance at some sleep tonight.

So I could have my LO in the next few days!!!

Sorry for the Gross parts!

Come on baby hanti-boo!!!!!! :cheer: :cheer: GO! GO! GO!!

This sounds BRILL babe!! I'm sure things will happen soon for you! :cheer:

Yay for more babies arriving!! xx

Was getting pretty regular pains last night, every 15 minutes which lasted for about 3 hours until I went to bed, thinking I better get some rest  Then got up extremely disappointed this morning having had a really good nights sleep and feeling quite refreshed :wall: A few days ago I was dying for some rest and to get a good sleep, but now all I want is the pain!! I WANT to be woken up with contractions, or suddenly find my waters have gone.....but its all gone quiet  Hopefully this is the calm before the storm and it will all kick off at the weekend?

All is quiet and normal again for me! I think yesterday was just one of those sickly days...not sure about the discharge but I will ask the midwife today.

Hanti-boo! Sounds like your baby is on the way! :cheer:

Steelgoddess...you can't pop yet we're due at the same time LOL

Well, this morning I went to the loo as normal, came downstairs then got this mad urge to go again. I had a tiny pee and then when I wiped my main plug was there!!! TMI - It was about the size of a 10p coin and clear with a browny centre.

Then my community midwife rang to see how I was doing. I said I was ok, getting used to the squeezes and that I still felt quite ill and she just said "Well why are you still at home then?" She then reasured me that I'd be ok, just keep active and if my waters go or I feel worse to go straight back into the ward.

So if nothing else progresses today I'll be at the ward tomorrow morning getting another check over to see how I'm doing.

I'm really excited but crapping myself at the same time, TBH I'm not sure I can do this now and I'm just about to pop!

Hantiboo! You'll be fine and you'll soon be holding your baby. :cheer:

Midwife came to see me today and look at the house for the home birth, they are on call as of tomorrow. Told her about the discharge and she did say it was some of my "show" but that sometimes it comes away gradually as your cervix is getting ready so could still be another couple of weeks. She was really nice and said "I hope you go into labour next week because that means I will be on duty and can come out to you" :D

This is all getting very exciting!

Aww Daffodil, your MW sounds lovely! I hope you get her when you have your little girl - I wish my MW was that nice! She said at my 38 week appt "I'm on holiday for 2 weeks, if you have any questions ring the docs and they'll put you through to someone else" lol - She reeeeally cares about her patients! x
