My scan - not sure what to think?

They said baby is fine measuring 8+2 but sac only measuring 5/6 wks. Got to go back in two weeks to confirm it's growing ok. So another two weeks of worrying.

Anyone had this before??

Yeah even the midwife said she had never heard of it! Been looking it up on the net but not much on it, just says either the sac will catch up and everything will be fine or I will miscarry . So just got to wait it out.

I'm afraid I haven't heard of it either but maybe the sac is just a late bloomer... I have all my fingers and toes crossed for you and I hope the sac catches up pronto!

Don't panic too much hon as bleeding is quite common as I'm sure you know.

Could you go back to the hospital so they can check you out and put your mind at ease? It's not necessarily a bad thing, I've seen lots of posts on here where women have had bleeds but gone on to have healthy babies.

Yeah I bled with all three of my children but with already having a problem am thinking the worst. Think I shall pop to a&e and see if I can get scanned today, presume it will be harder to get scanned over the weekend. At least that way I won't have to wait until Tuesday, I suppose!

Can't you go straight to epu though as you've already been seen by them?

I didn't go via the EPU my Doc just booked me in for a scan. Do you think I should ring EPU then? Was just thinking if I got to A&E they have to deal with me whereas they might just tell me to wait till Tuesday otherwise?

 

[HannahD]

I'd go in via a+e, that way you're guaranteed to be seen there and then. EPU might not have any regular appointments left but they'll always see a referal from a+e.

Well only just got back from the hosp. Was bad news. Bubs heart stopped beating two days after the last scan. Am going back in tomorrow for an ERPC.
