My little princess Ava Rose

Well done with the feeding thing! Sounds promising... I'll have to mention this to Dyscochick as she wants to reduce night wakings... Ahh, poor little thing with her eye - hope it keeps on improving xxx

Can't believe Ava is a month old today, it seems so long ago that I had her now!

I think she is starting with colic, last few nights between 6 & 10 she is just crying & won't settle. I've just tried to give her abit of gripe water out of a small plastic cup but she just brought it back up. I've got an appointment on Wed with the health visitor to get her weighed so I'm hoping they'll give me a prescription for something. It's so upsetting her crying so much I hate it.

Xx

No I haven't tried anything yet, I nearly bought some colief today but the pharmacist said u can get better stuff on prescription so I didn't buy it cos it was £12. So I thought I'd wait until I see the health visitor.

Xx

It's so horrible when they cry and you can't do anything to help them :( Really hope the HV can suggest something. Do you think it's definitely colic? Harry cried a lot but we didn't think it was colic. Think maybe it was just a stage he went through? Hope Ava will be a bit happier soon... xxx

Bought some infacol yesterday, thurs & fri night were awful she was so unsettled it was upsetting.

I think it's definitely colic, you can see she's in pain. She squirms about going red etc.

So we were supposed to be going to a 30th party last night but I didn't really want to because of how Ava has been, dh ha s been away with work so he's not seen what she's been like. So I started her with the infacol at tea time & decided to go to the party, fed her before we left & got a great burp up. How sad is it that I get excited about that!
Anyway she just slept the whole time we were there, we only went for a coupe of hrs but it was half hr drive away. So she slept from 7.15-10pm! Couldn't believe it. Now dh doesn't believe me wen I've told him how unsettled she's been...lol.

Xx

I don't think infacol agrees with Ava she has been pretty sickly today after her feeds & has had more poos than normal, this mornings was rather large & was coming out of the sides of her nappy! She was really quite sick at tea time, I think she scared herself a little with it. So I haven't given her anymore this evening & so far she hasn't brought any milk up & hasn't been suffering too bad with the wind either.

Xx

Dh gave Ava some expressed milk in a bottle today! I was a little nervous about it, I felt abit lost wen he was doing it because its my job. I know it's silly because its still my milk but I felt guilty for some reason. Anyway she took the bottle fine but I'd only expressed 2oz & it wasn't quite enough so I had to finish her on my breast (which I secretly was pleased about). I expressed some more & did 4oz this time, it's probably too much but wud rather have too much than not enough. We're going to a wedding reception on Fri eve so I want to give her a bottle then rather than me trying to find somewhere to bf.

She's had a little wind again tonight but dh is here & he managed to get a big burp out of her, I think he winds her abit harder than me,or is was just luck! I'm thinking Thurs & Fri eve might just have been bad nights is she's not been like it since.

Xx

Hey amber

Hope little avas wind leaves soon, jacksons seems to get better through time.

Don't feel bad about feeling guilty whenever oh feeds my lo I think its my job I feel I need to keep checking on OH if he's feeding even though he can manage LOL

Xxxx

tapatalking :) - can't see tickers!

Hi amber, sounds like you are doing great. Ollie has the odd colicky evening and we find gripe water does the trick. We tried infacol got a couple of days but firstly we wasn't always colicky and also I don't think it agreed with his tummy! Xx can't believe she is over a month already! X

Glad Ava sounds like she's doing better :) Hopefully it was just a blip... Well done for expressing and getting her to take a bottle too - it does make life so much easier when you don't have to get your boobs out in public lol! For the first couple of months I didn't even want to give Harry a bottle as it felt so unnatural to me and I always got DH to do it, but I've got a bit more used to it now... Anyway, sound slike your both doing really well :) xxx

Glad it was just a blip for u hun xxx

Thanks for ure support ladies, I'm getting my head around dh giving her a bottle now. We've been out for the day today so we took my expressed milk & dh fed her whilst we were out, we know she doesn't like cold milk....lol.

I took her to baby clinic yesterday to get weighed, she's 8lb 4oz now, that's 3lb weight increase so she was pleased with her. I mentioned the bad nights & my issue with infacol, but since stopping the infacol she's still been bringing mouthfuls of milk back up so now don't think it was infacol. So HV said to try back on infacol for at least a week to see if it helps, she said a day wasn't enough. As to bringing part of her feed up, she thinks she's just being greedy & taking too much & her stomach is bringing back up what it doesn't need. Which I do agree with, I can tell sometimes she's had enough but still keeps going. So we started infacol yesterday tea time & so far so good!

For some reason Ava decided to wake up for an extra feed last night so she had 2 feeds in the night instead of just one,I hope it was a 1 off!

I got a picture of Ava smiling yesterday, ill post it later its so cute!

So I've been exercising for just over a week now, been on the treadmill 3 days on the trot & not even lost a pound! Not impressed, I think my scales are broken....lol, it won't budge from 9 stone 10lb!

Xx

Aww, look at that beautiful smile! :) That's a great weight gain too, well done! It's so satifying when they put on weight and you know it's all down to your milk isn't it? Hope the infacol does the trick for her and she doesn't decide to keep waking for 2 feeds!! Grr, that's annoying about the weight loss, but at the same time, you're supposed to be taking on extra calories for the bf-ing,so maybe now isn't the best time to be trying to lose weight?? I admire your determination though :) xxx

Wow what a beaming smile hun! and she is so young as well  She is a clever girl.

Lovely weight gain, keep doing what you are doing hey!

Gorgeous pic Hun! Ollie is greedy too, I guess it's like us it takes time gut the 'I'm full ' signal to reach the brain so they keep going! Hope the infacol works, it does need 2-3 days to build up in the tummy, just keep an eye out for constipation! Xxxx

Well I now have mastitis! Managed to get an emergency appointment at drs today & got some antibiotics. Glad I've been expressing cos dh was able to feed her abit yesterday & he did the bedtime feed for me. God it really takes it out of you, I've read a few people who've had it on here, if it wasn't for them I wouldn't of known what it was & wouldn't of gone to the drs.

We're having a head wetting for Ava on Saturday so I hope I feel better by then.

Xx

Massive hugs :hugs: It's bloody awful. Hopefully you feel better soon, get plenty of rest when you can and drink loads- LOADS- it helps xx
