My labour watch thread - he is here :D Birth story in the labour section!

JM would you trust a man not to forget to take a pill?... :)

My fella is more reliable than me i forget everything, would trust him to take it :) x

I had the coil for 4.5 years before 1day, randomly it failed here we r now waiting for junior to arrive. One in 200 chance of it failing, I guess it was just meant to be! I'm hoping to get it again after the birth as u.forget its there n is extremely handy!! :D

another little update.

as I had a high BP last week, my MW came to check on me yesterday. My BP got back to normal now.

twice in the last couple of weeks I saw stars flying around me. Both times were after a warm (I guess even hot - naughty me) shower and both times it only lasted about 10 seconds, so I was told not to worry about it.

my back is really sore now! I try to stay active, but I feel that it gets only worse after a walk, and by the evening I can hardly walk at all :( Very annoying!

on the positive side - all the last little bits are sorted now :) My parents bought us a lovely warm bodysuit for taking the LO for walks in cold weather, I got my eyebrows and eyelashes tinded (so I can still have some eyebrows on the labour pictures!), and I also got some nursing bras from M&S (I've gone from A cup to F cup!)

oh and I just ordered a lovely notebook with a magnetic clasp - I want to write all the little things about our baby in it :) It is so easy to forget things! Here it is:

Know what u mean about your back............mines been bad around my sacral joints particularly on one side but for some reason today its better.............maybe LO shifted?.......Lovely idea with the notebook and that's a very impressive increase in bra size! lol xx

Mum2b410 yep, I also get pain on one side... So annoying! Maybe my lo will shift soon too, would be good.

Hi everyone :)

Still not much happening here, but I started getting itchy feet and hands at night :( I know it can be a symptom of OC (not sure if I should even try spelling this condition lol), but as the itchy feeling is relatively mild I'm not too worried yet. I have a mw appointment tomorrow, I'll mention it then.

My back is still sore on one side, but feels much better today - yay!

My parents, my husband and I are betting on which day I might give birth on - we all chose a date, and the person whose guess will be the most accurate will be choosing which meal we will cook to celebrate :) my dad has already lost - he predicted that yesterday would be the big day :) good - I already know what food he would chose - meat for starter, meat for the main course and some more meat for pudding lol. Today is the day that my mum chose - we shall see :)

That's all the news for now, I'll keep you updated :)

Hope the itchiness is nothing hun.....and that your OH improves soon! Hope u don't go too far over if u go overdue.....personally I'm not finding it the easiest thing to deal with! xx

thanks mum2b410! I also do hope the itchiness is nothing - OC sounds quite scary... Will see what the mw says tomorrow!

Hope baby doesn't keep u waiting much longer, loving the notebook!!

I'd make sure oh wouldn't forget the pill trust me lol!!!

Sorry to hear ur back is sore.. Not long now!!

I've had extreme itching and all is ok.. Best to get checked though good luck for tomorrow xx

Thanks JM xx what worries me is that its soles and palms that are itchy for me, and this does sound very much like OC :(

Hope you don't have long to wait now, not many end of oct/ beginning nov girls left now! We had a sweepstake like yours and also guessed weight and sex but as nobody was anywhere near with Kynon comming a month early we put the money into his box! Good fun guessing though!

Thanks JM xx what worries me is that its soles and palms that are itchy for me, and this does sound very much like OC :(

Make sure you mention it to mw and hopefully they'll do a liver function test
Keep us posted :) xx

I mentioned itchy feet and hands to my mw today, and was sent to the hospital for a blood test. I do have OC :( Am booked to be induced on Wednesday.

I'm really upset. I so did not want to be induced! I was picturing my perfect labour start in my head for ages - I wake up to mild pains in the night, wake up my husband, we take some pictures together, prepare sandwiches, call hospital... I spend first hours of contractions on the birthing ball with a TENS machine, my husband supporting me. Then we drive to the hospital at night - just the two of us in the sleeping city, holding hands and smiling at each other. It would be such a special and romantic night! Now the picture will be very different... Longer, more painful and risky labour... No birthing pool... Me staying overnight on my own most likely... Strapped on to some machine and not being able to move and bored out of my mind (and the signal in the hospital is so bad, I don't know if I even will be able to go online).

And I'm scared. I love my bump, I can't imagine myself without it! I'm scared of staying in the hospital on my own for ages. Of more painful, less natural labour. Even of having a baby

Oh well, I had a very easy and pleasant pregnancy, I guess I can't really complain. Just feeling very low atm.

awww hon...sorry to hear your news. but just try to think of the positives....you will be a mum by this weekend and no matter what you have to go through on wednesday, you are doing it for your little one...

i wish you al the luck in the world....xx

The only thing i found that was really painful about being induced was the breaking of the waters as the contractions get really painful, saying that its pretty similar to natural labour just faster. Im sure you will sail through it. Fx for an easy(ish) labour xxx
