Oh Hun sorry to hear u feel like this. 2 out of my 3 labours have been inductions and yes my last one which was the drip was my longest but no more painful than the other 2. The main thing is u and your lo will b healthy and starting family life xxx

Sorry to hear this hunny but its best for you and your LO. Heres hoping she comes natural before your induction so you can have all the things you wanted.
With my induction even though it was a lengthy process, i was only in established labour for 10mins more than a fully natural birth. I was already contracting when my waters were broken, the only difference i found was the contractions got stronger alot quicker. Goodluck sweetie x x

That does sound like a lovely night but my gosh you are going to have so many more amazing memories for a long time once LO is here!

It's going to be your own little family, just the three of you, you can take as many photos and share as many memories as you like.

I really hope you go into labour naturally before then but like M2A said, it's what's best for you and baby! Good luck xxx

Sorry to hear you have oc and not going to get your 'perfect' birth. Very few of us do get that in the end, and what really matters is baby arrives safely and your ok. You will miss your bump though, I still do! No all induced labours are worse, often they are over very quick, so try not to worry. Good luck for wed, I'll be thread stalking! xx

sorry you aren't getting the labour you had dreamed of, but if it is best for you both then you know it needs to be done. As you say maybe you could bump start a natural labour anyway

My mum was induced with me and went naturally with my sister. Both of her labours were 4 hours start to finish. She said that the only difference with me was that she was scared because I was the first so took all the drugs they offered her, with my sister she didn't bother as she was more chilled having done it all before, so it's not necessarily going to make anything worse for you, maybe just a bit more restriction due to the monitoring.

Oh babe I'm so sorry to hear u have oc it's good u got it checked when you did.. I know u had it all planned out but unfortunately things change in ways we don't expect and we just have to go with it.. At the end of the day you will have your LO safe in your arms with your partner by your side holding your hand.. The start of it will be different but the labour and birth will remain the same beautiful moment you imagine!
Hopefully you'll go into labour naturally but don't put pressure on yourself for it to happen or it never will, your body will go against it with the stress..
Rest well eat well and enjoy spending time with your oh before baby takes up all your time
Not all inductions are a long stressful process the fact you are so close to ur due date will help

Thanks girls... Your posts really help! I'm having a sleepless night - can't stop thinking about things. I'm not that upset anymore, but am worried and just feel annoyed that things changed like this. Everything was very different this morning, I guess I'm still in a bit of a shock.

Hey hunny......have just caught up.....so sorry u have OC and have to be induced tomorrow......but I really hope that it all goes smoothly for u! It must b a lot to get your head around but u have to tell yourself that it's what's best for LO and in a few days u will be having cuddles and it all will be worth it! xx

Aww hun firstly happy due date to you as well and I'm really sorry to hear you have OC and have to be induced like the other girls have said though its best for you and baby right now and by the weekend your beautiful little bundle will be here I do understand how you feel though (apart from the OC) I'm due to be induced next Thursday and I really dont want either - same reasons as you. But I keep thinking by next weekend I will have my little bubs no matter what and thats what keeps me going. I wish you the very best of luck and hope it goes quickly and smoothly for you hun xxxx

Happy due date honey.. Must make it harder the induction is so close and not much time to take it all in.. Just focus on the first moment you will be holding your son.. Everything else won't matter!!

thanks girls! I am feeling a bit better today - I think the problem was that I was told I will be induced so soon! Just needed some time to get used to the idea.

Called the hospital today and asked if I could have a sweep today - I still have more than 24 hours until induction, so this might give the bubba a chance to come out naturally-ish. No idea why I wasn't offered this yesterday (or why I haven't thought about asking for it myself!). They should sort an appointment for me today...

JM no I am a bit surprised myself. The mw just called me back - she will come at 2 and will do the sweep then. I was hoping to do it in the morning, but well, that's better than nothing! FX it will work!

Thats brilliant they are going to do it!! i honestly would never have thought of asking for a sweep!
Lets hope it works and u get a due date baby!
Just remember to relax and dont pressure yourself honey

I'm not gonna pressure myself, but I want to go for a long walk... Might take my mind of things and maybe will set things going?... Will go in half an hour - I guess I might be a bit uncomfortable after the sweep!
