Mummies Running Club :D

M2A If I ran one I'd be booking myself a holiday to recover!!

I can see why you are emotional, it's such a personal cause and you have worked towards it for so long. You should be so so proud of yourself! Xx

I have been running average every 3/4 evenings, need to get it to every other really. Still around the 3 miles in 45 mins which is a bit poop. Gonna try to cut that down on my next run which is Thursday x

What are everyone's plans now for future runs? I'd like a couple of ten km's after the marathon before christmas and I'm hoping to enter the Paris marathon in April :)

Well I need to find a 5k to do and then hopefully follow that up with a 10k shortly after :)

Ive entered a 10k in December, a half marathon in January and im just looking around for some more races after that and then once entries open back to the Liverpool Marathon next Autumn PB chasing :D - i must be mental!

Woohoo i seemed to have skipped the DOMS stage in recovery, should be on a recovery run before I know it :D

Well done on your running Pos, your doing fab :)

Not long now Rednursie, whens your taper start? x x

Supposed to start this week but I'm doing one more long run tomorrow morning first. Was supposed to have my last long run monday but i only did a 12 miler (was supposed to be doing 18) i just didnt feel i should be, my body didnt feel right. But thenvi has been working all weekend with no excercise and it was over a week since id done a run. I bought a new running top yesterday and the letters of my name which I'm going to iron on my top for the big day xxx

At the end, fitness wise i could of kept on going but my legs wouldnt take me! So looking back at how things went, one of my main things i need to look at is improving my leg strength for future races.
Im quite achy and tender today but as to be expected really, tried to keep it as normal as possible, school run, work ect. One thing i have noticed is im very emotional though.
Sassy are you looking for one to enter? X x

I would love to find one near to where I live, must do some research or maybe I will just wait until I know when we're returning to the uk.

Rednursie how fab, when is it? Was it expensive to enter?

It's on the 7th of February sassy. The first few thousand entries were going for €70. I didn't get one of one, I got (i think) 2 bands up and paid €85. I went online first thing for the cheaper one but the site kept crashing. I think the price goes up after every few thousand entries. I registered for it three years ago but got a tendon injury and had to pull out. Hopefully I'll see it through this time :) xxx

Wow, would love to do another one before Liverpool next year but with training taking up a lot of time and 2 little ones, i cant fit it in.
Have they changed the month then Rednursie? Paris is normally one of the spring marathons around April time x x

Thanks girls. I need to get my first marathon under my belt though lol. Hopefully I wasn't to premature! I paid extra for insurance when entering Paris and deep down I hope I have to use it as I really want my bfp before then. Defo wont be running any marathon if I'm pregnant! Though I honestly thought I'd be pregnant before this marathon came round and I'm not so you never know. Training is a good distraction when TTC gets me down though. Mummy2adam I'm finding it hard fitting my training in I don't know how you managed with two little ones. Xxx

What a fab oh!! :yay:

Back to it tonight for me, well exercise not running, a nice bike ride eased of the muscles but also uncovered a few niggles (my ankle and calf) so going to stick to cycling and swimming for the next week or so to give my body time to recover properly.
I hung my medal up this morning after parading it around for 3 days, it has pride of place smack bang in the middle :D

Omg! All those medals, well done you!!

Well yesterday OH said he would come for a run with me to shake off his hangover

Last time he came I could go about 30 seconds running then needed to stop so there's been a huge improvement.

Anyway, he was really annoying. We took LO and he kept running off fast with the buggy! It's not a jogger, when I used to take LO I would be going at the pace of a fast walking man iykwim. So that was the first annoying thing. Then he ran off wiv my MP3 player. Then the whole time he was with me he was telling me to pick up the pace. I could have throttled him. I still can't do the 3 miles without walking a few times to catch breath etc so I want to do that first before I start going faster.

So all in all it was stressful ....but....I did do it in 40 mins, which is 5 mins faster than last run. Think I just wanted to get back home lol! X

Well done Pos, your doing great :)
I would of throttled him too ;) Thats how injuries happen, stick to your pace and get used to the distance first, once your body is used to that, the increase pace will follow x

You know that's exactly why I didn't want to go faster, iv got a bit of a niggle in my left leg already. After LO was born he took me running twice, the second time I really hurt myself, couldn't run for weeks then lost the will to do it.

He's one of these 'mind over matter' people which can be good but I really don't want to hurt myself! Grrrrrr!!

Pos my ex used to have a go at me for running to music! Apparantly that stops you from concentrating!
I did my last long run yesterday (17 miles) so glad I have no more long runs now-Until the big day that is xxx

I used to think it would be so much easier if P took up running but im starting to think maybe not!

Whats everyones running plans for the weekend?

Ive got marathon blues, someone from my club has asked if i want to join the girls team for the xc season but im in two minds, dont mind a bit of trail running but all the mud, mess, not sure my hearts there like it is with road running x x
