Mummies Running Club :D

Hope you have or have had a nice long run giddy. How did your session at the running club go? xx

Hi ladies, hows everyone getting on?
I did my 1st session as run leader and it was fantastic even managed to get a run in myself :)
I also went out with a few of the ladies on Sunday and some of them ran the furthest they have ever ran, 7.5miles, i then continued a bit further x x

Hoping to fully join you ladies in a couple of weeks, can't wait to see how I do on my first run but think I will need a hearty sports bra or 2!!!

Yay, whens your first run hunny?
Shock absorbers are great running bra's, they are a little on the expensive side but well worth every penny :)

Well ladies everything's happening so quick my end last week i was assistant coach with my own group, tonights the same but i have my course on Sunday, eeeekkk. After that i have to wait for my UKA licence to come through, then im officially a runleader with plans of my own little branch off my friends beginners running club for runners that can already do 5k and want to increase their distance to anything up to marathon! 2013 is leading to be a an exciting year for my running development but ive had to tweak my target slightly to one marathon pb and 1000miles, may still pick up the 13 races in 2013 but will have to see how much time I get!

Hows everyone else getting on? x x x

Ooh M2A, well done you! So exciting! Aiming to do my first run early feb after my 6 week check. Need to work on my pelvic floor and will def invest in a good sorts bra, thanks for the tip on shock absorbers! Know from experience it's worth the spend to get a good one! Eek bet I'll be soooo rubbish after almost a year of no running! I think my aim of the Cardiff half in October is realistic given that I need to train around my now child orientated life and going back to work full time in July.

Not long then hun :) One think i will advise is make sure your doing your pelvic floor exercises as much as possible! Loving your goals too hunny, get them written down in a training diary and review them every so often once you start, it will keep you motivated :)

Well the course was fantastic and im now a Sports England RunLeader just need to wait for my licence to come through, which takes about 6 weeks!
Heres my new tshirts :D

Anyone else getting fed up with the weather? and theres still more to come apparently! X x x

Wow m2a massive congratulations! I bet you will be a great run leader, encouraging and setting a great example (make sure u tell any slackers u work full time, have 2 kids, one is a baby and u done a marathon not long ago ;) )

I wish u lived near me!

So I'm 20 weeks now and keep thinking about running when LO arrives. I'm worried about the practicalities but I really want to do it. Watching my weight too as I'm hoping that soon after LO arrives I will be at least the weight I was before bfp (I was very overweight but was able to run...a bit!)

When will I be able to start??

Hope everyone else is well xx

Hi Pos, hope all is well.

Thanks hunny, it all happened pretty quick but really enjoying it :)

Wow cant believe your 20 weeks already, time is flying by!!!
Once you have had the all clear from your post natal check with the doctor, you should be ok to start with some light exercise and gradually build it up, but dont forget those pelvic floor exercises especially for when you start running as it can put pressure on your bladder.

Does anyone in your area do a pram pushing exercise class/jogging class? Might be worth looking into it to start you off plus you can have baby with you :) x x x x

Thanks for your advice :)

Yes there are definitely those classes round here. I had LO in December so was too cold to take him but this baby is due in june so should be much better timing!

Iv read it thru once and found it great so after baby arrives I'm going to re-read run fat bitch run lol xx

Its great your thinking about it now hun, maybe once baby is here look at an event in the future that you would like to do and aim for that, its great motivation to keep you going :)

Rednursie, not heard from you for a while, hows things going? x x x

Pos get couch to 5k, sign up for your local cancer research 5k and we'll train together virtually :)
X

Hi ladies, been awol for a bit. How is everyone? Pos I can't believe your 22 weeks already!! M2A that's great about being a leader, you're doing so well!! I wish I had your motivation. Rednursie well done on the 15 miler.

Discochick how are you?

I haven't been out since December. **Holds head in shame** I wish I could get going again. We have more snow here and I don't know how good my trainers would be and it's quite icy. Look at me making excuses, I need a kick up the butt!!!!
