Hello,
We have been pregnant for 5 weeks and 2 days when I started to see brown spotting that turned into fresh bleeding (just like a period but less in amount), so we rang the GP who then sent us for an emergency vaginal scan.
To our shock the scan showed an " irregular intra-uterine gestation sac with yolk sac located in the right horn of a subseptate uterus. Follow up arranged in 1 week to check viability. "
Sorry, I just copied that out of the report, but the dr said a medical termination might be necessary but we didn't quite understand why, although we do trust the dr, it is just that we were surprised to hear that.
So I wondered if anybody has ever had a similar experience and went on to have a healthy pregnancy? Or have they had a medical termination?
Also, if they will advise a medical termination, how long would it be before we can try to conceive again, would we be at the risk of this same condition or was it just pure bad luck?
I was also told via the vaginal ultrasound, that I have an indentation on my womb (apparently it is a little heart shaped), so again, would that cause problems with further pregnancies? Am I doomed with a faulty reproductive system?
Then I am also wondering if next week after the second scan they say the pregnancy can continue, but then something else consequently will go wrong further down the line? Would I have a defected baby? Would I have a high chance of stillbirth? I think there is NOTHNG more torturous than having to go through that, so now I am full of worry and wonder if it would be just better to go with the medical termination?
I was so devastated to hear the news, but I would be even more devastated if things went wrong further down the line.
Thank you for listening! xxx
