**March 2018 Mummies - Tri 2**

Girls, I spent last night in the hospital.

We had sex ( a quick one) and I noticed fresh red discharge in my underwear. I freaked out of course.

Doc in the hospital checked little one's heartbeat and he was happy in there. Checked my cervix and he said cervix was irritated and thats why I had discharge.

He also told me NOT TO HAVE ANY SEX until next scan in January cause my placenta is still low.

So I said ok I won't have sex at all and its fine with me. Im back home now and having a day off work today to chill.

Feeling very tired.

xx

Oh Charlotte must have been so scary for you! I would have freaked too. Its good you went o get all checked out and am relieved everything is well. Rest up plenty today and get some sleep.
Shame there is a sex ban but there is always other stuff!

Loveandpeace, yeah very scary cause it happened at night. I don't think any sex is allowed. Not even oral because of cervix moves kinda during "O" and I would not want to try it. I will ask midwife but I'm sure she will say no to even oral pleasure. Well it's ok.

Hi ladies,

I’ve not posted for a while but have had a read through and everyone seems to be doing well :)

The second trimester is flying by for me, hope it is for the rest of you too! I’m 25+1 weeks now. Only 3 weeks until 3rd trimester, can’t believe it!

We have decorated the nursery and put the cot up. We’ve got a Moses basket for downstairs, a next to me crib for next to our bed, a breast pump and a few bits of clothes. Still have lots to get including the travel system as we sold our last one as we didn’t think we were going to have another child but then changed our minds! This time of year is so expensive for us, as it is for most people, it’s my husbands birthday 7th December, my sons 6th birthday on the 23rd December and then obviously the cost of Christmas! So, needless to say we are going to hold back on buying anything else until January!

I have a growth scan booked for 18th December. However, I am in the process of changing hospitals so the scan date will more than likely change at the new hospital.

Charlotte that must have been very worrying for you! So glad that all is ok, what a relief.

Glad all is ok Charlotte, that must have been very scary! This is why I’ve not been having sex :( I’m sooo anxious about it and I don’t want to freak out any more than I do already so just cutting it out. Poor hubby haha. It’s a short term sacrifice for a long term goal, that was my motto during the horrific sickness so it can be his motto now for sexy time :).
I do really miss it though and find myself trying it in the middle of the night without realising, maybe in a couple of weeks when I’m past the 24wk mark I’ll feel more comfortable with it.

Charlotte - glad everything is ok, must have been really scary. No sex is a small price to pay and it's not really for that much longer now!

Anyone else having problems with ligament / back pain? I'd been having a few aches but earlier in the week had a couple of days of stronger pains down the right hand side of my bump, I wasn't worried as could feel the baby moving around and the position of the pain was textbook ligament stretching, but OW! It wasn't as bad when I sat down but standing and walking was excruciating. I checked with the midwife who seemed mildly sympathetic but just basically said to deal with it :D

Merry, yes I get ligament pains every now and then, especially when I’m walking. It can be so sore can’t it. I try to stretch my arms up high over my head and do like overhead stretching to each side, if that makes sense. I find it sometimes loosens the ligaments a bit xx

Hello all, been a little quiet for a while now, all is flying along with my little squish, have found out she is a she and is now due 25th March (which is also my birthday) and she is healthy but she is currently a little on the light side, which they think is due to some medication I was on at conception and for the several weeks before I found out, she may well have a growth spurt though! She likes to have her wriggle around and typically for every scan I have she does the opposite to what they want hahaha!

hope all you lovely ladies are doing well as well xx

Aw lovely congratulations on having a daughter Fairycake! Have you any names picked? My friend is due to have a wee boy on 25th March too which is also her birthday!
Our little one is due 5 days after my birthday. 26 weeks pregnant today! Although dont have my 25 week midwife appointment til next week.
Starting to notice patterns of movement around the same times each day and night. My friend had a baby in July and she said she definitely noticed that the baby movement pattern in the womb matched their sleep and awake times when they are born so it will be interesting to see!
xx

oh that is so cool, clearly the 25th could be an exciting day haha! oooh so if things start early you could have a birthday baby, what a pressie :) I do have a name, its a little out there, she is going to be November and called Nova for short. I lost my dad in March this year and he was born in November as was my Grandpa and I found out I was pregnant on the 10 year anniversary of his death so I think she is a gift from the pair of them. ooooh congrats on hitting 26 weeks, its funny with the appointments, I have mine at 23 weeks as I am in Las Vegas when my 25 week appointment should have been. Just had my GTT, anaesthetic review and first growth scan all booked in, makes for a busy January hahaha! Oooh that's exciting, I hope your little ones routine indicates some decent sleep available to you. my little one has a wriggle around 1am then 5 am then 9am...... not terrible.... xx

FairyCake - Thats lovely news you are having a daughter, I have an almost 4 year old son so really hoping this ones a little girl but haven't found out so will be a lovely surprise either way.

I love the name November, it's unusual but I wouldn't say it was too 'out there'. i really like April, Summer etc aswell. My son is called 'Eben' like a short version of Ebeniezer and have a few comments but we liked it so went with our feelings rather than what other people might say.

Merry - i've started getting twinges, not sure if it's the bottom of my back of top of my bum but a bit uncomfortable.

I'm starting to feel some more movement now, with my son I felt quite a lot from 20 weeks but my placenta being at the front is making the kicks feel a bit more subtle but in the last week are a bit stronger, but not strong enough to be felt from the outside yet.

Started clearing out our junk room which is going to be the nursery this weekend. Didn't want to start it too early but ideally would like it done by January so have time to sort out all the clothes etc for baby in good time.

Only 5 more weeks until go down to 3 days a week and really can't wait, after a long day at work and looking after my son literally can't be bothered to do anything and rather stay in on sofa than go to meet friends so have become quite unsociable!

I'm 22+2 today - eding closer to the 24 week marks. I've got my next midwife @ 25 weeks then my GTT testing @ 26 weeks.

Anyone got a bump picture to share? Mine has popped out now so will upload a piccy when get chance. its strange I'm so much smaller at this stage than with my son - hopefully this means it's not going to be another 10 lb'er!!

xx

Thats really sweet I like that name and its not too out there! It has a lovely meaning behind it.

My Mum passed away suddenly 3 weeks before I discovered I was pregnant so I feel this wee one is a gift from her.

Lucky you going to Vegas!xx

Hi ST,

I like your sons name! Wow was he really 10lbs?

Im on the countdown as well, this week is my last full week to do in work until January as using up this years annual leave and off almost 2 weeks at Christmas and short weeks until then. January I only have 2 full weeks then using new A/L a day a week before maternity in Feb.

I really want to get the nursery done and sorted but we are getting almost the entire house painted on the week of the 18th Dec including the spare room/nursery so everything will have to remain a mess on the bed until then! I just want to have our house in order and sorted by January so can relax a little.

I havent took a recent bump picture in a while but if I get a chance later I'll post one.x

Hey girls

Hope everyone is ok. I've been having on and off backache too. I've been suggested to move around more. Not always possible cause I work in the office. Someone suggested to drink more water.

On Sunday I bought another pair of leggings cause jeggings are very uncomfortable.

NO sex for me until Jan at least. Was thinking about it not sure if "other" sex is allowed or not. Was a bit shy to ask the doc at the hospital. What do you girls think? xx

I do find moving around more and some stretches or gentle yoga helps with back pain, although Im not getting much of it, I get recurring sciatica above my right bum cheek more than actual back pain lol.

I dont know about 'other' sex, Ive read conflicting information that its perfectly fine then recall someone saying orgasms can affect the cervix or cause the uterus to contract........but I really dont know. I'd like to think it wouldnt do any harm?!x

Loveandpeace, I'm not sure myself. I will speak to midwife on Wednesday if other sex is allowed. I hope so. If not I will be ok as well. Ha ha

Backache is a bit scary. I always think why is it hurting and then when it stops I think why has it stopped. :)

Midwife told me that backache will only get worse. I tried a few back supports but they make no difference.

LOL hopefully it is and let us know what she says!

Any backache I get is quite mild thankfully so far but I did notice last week when I was in hubbys car, I had the heated seats on and the pain went completely so try a hot water bottle when you can to help with the ache.

I keep thinking how much bigger I am going to get and how much things are going to get more achey and difficult! All worth it though :-).
This maybe sounds a silly question but my belly button is still an innie, is this normal at this stage or should it be an outie by now?x

Loveandpeace, mine is the same. Kinda flat looking. Still Innie. I had laparoscopy last year and got a small scar in my belly button. How will it look like if it's outie. :)

Fairycake - congrats on finding out it's a girl! Love the name, really unusual :)

Re backache - I know my midwife recommended baths and hot water bottles for aches and pains in general, I've had a few twinges in my lower back that have been helped by a hot bath, and also just using cushions to get more support when I'm sitting down. It's the ligament pains in my bump that have been harder for me to treat, I did use a hot water bottle the other night but didn't have it too hot and the baby was still trying to kick it out of the way!

Summertime - my placenta is anterior too but the movements have got stronger and stronger, for the past few days they've been visible on the outside too - alien bump! I'm 26 weeks so a bit ahead, it probably won't be long until you're feeling more.

Hey girls

I had an appointment with midwife and she said no sex or "o" until January. Well it's ok. We can wait.

She also said no tight clothing around the waist. Tights and leggings should go over the bump.

How are you all doing? I haven't decided about whooping cough vaccine. Did you have it ?
