**March 2018 Mummies - Tri 2**

Hi fellow N Ireland Mummy :-)! My friend is due around the same time as you as well, she is due her second little boy on 25th March!
How did you find the 16 week appointment/class from the programme? I was just relieved to know there are other first time parents to be just as daunted by everything as we are lol.

Ah congratulations on having a wee boy! How lovely and to be able to have the gender reveal party to share with family and friends, so special. From the moment I found out I was pregnant I have a feeling ours is a boy, I keep looking at boys clothes and thinking of boys names and saying 'he'. Even though we remained team yellow! Although DH has twice dreamt its a girl. Our family an friends are all split either way on the gender.

Ah same here with scan pics, I carry mine in my bag and pull them out to stare at them in awe.

Hopefully your placenta moves and the iron supplement has helped with energy levels.
Thankfully everything physically with me has been 100% and no issues. Although as I lost my Mum suddenly 3 weeks before discovering I was pregnant, I broke down at my 20 week scan and was referred to a Bereavement midwife. I had my first appointment with her this morning and it went really well, she was lovely. Having that support has been amazing and Im really grateful. Only for hubby encouraging me to mention it to the midwife then I would still be feeling a bit lost.

xx

Summertime, how did your scan go today? Hope it went well xx

Hi! Yes it went well thankyou, I did post yesterady but for some reason it keep crashing and was so tired couldn't stay awake to write it again!

Such a relief feel a lot more relaxed now! My placenta is at the front which the sonographer said will be meaning I'm not feeling the movements as strong. I do feel whoose like movement when it's on the move but not really kicks.

Got all my antenatal sessions through, mainly evening/weekend so only one that's in work time and going to take this off as Antenatal care as it's the womens health session on pelvic floor etc.

20+5 now, next appointment is 25 weeks with the midwife so not too far away so can focus on that and getting to the 24 week mark.

Has anyone else gone off meat? I started going off it at 12 weeks and now can't eat any meat without making me feel sick, don't know if it's the taste or texture but just avoiding it for now - living on pasta and cheese toasties!

How is everyones bump? mine has really popped out over the last couple of weeks and people at work have started asking me outright now - one lady said 'Oh I just thought you had put on weight' - how rude!! Luckily I'm used to people commenting on weight gain from first pregnancy and that it doesn't really matter :)

Hey girls

Hope everyone is ok. I keep having back pain. I think it's because I sit all day.
It comes and goes.

Summertime, I eat meat and kinda like it. Not sure about pork. But chicken and beef seems to be nice. Craving baked salmon with lemon. Mmmm

I really would like to sign up for antenatal classes. I guess I need to wait till I see my midwife and she will provide info?

Hi ladies. I've been lurking, seeing how everyone is doing. Went for my gender scan this week. It's another boy! I'm officially outnumbered. He's healthy and very active.
Hope everyone has a good weekend

Yay congratulations on another little boy Sk8erzeh! Have you thought of any names yet?

Glad the scan went well for you ST, its such a relief to get it over knowing everything is good. Then you start to worry about something else lol.

My bump is as massive as ever and really starting to feel the weight in my pelvis and lower back. To think its going to get bigger!
LOL I know some people really have no filter do they?1 My next door neighbour said I looked like I was about to drop any day now!!!! Erm I still have 15 weeks yet, F**K OFF!! Then another lady asked me if I was sure there was not more than one in there! I just smile with gritted teeth.
I went off all meat in first trimester but now mostly back on it. I even had steak the other night for the first time in months and really enjoyed it. Most days though I could happily go without meat.
The only thing I am totally off is most fish and all seafood. I was a massive fan of both before being pregnant and loved my sushi. Although we arent really allowed most seafood or any raw fish anyway, the very sight of it makes me heave. Wonder if I will ever get my taste back for it again?

Hope everyone had a great weekend.xx

Hey everyone, I’m really crap at remembering to come on here but just had a little read and glad to hear so many peoples scans went well. I had mine the Friday before last and found out I’m having a baby boy which I’m so excited about as I will get the chance to experience both genders! He wasn’t playing ball though and they were unable to see a few measurements/do a few checks so I’ve been rebooked and will get to see him again on Friday. This pregnancy has been a lot harder and I feel so much bigger than before I honestly feel like I look how I did at full term with my daughter already!

Hi ladies

Hope everyone is enjoying the second trimester. L&P, I haven't thought of any names yet, I'm still getting used to the idea of another boy.
Have any of you ladies started buying stuff yet? I've been looking around and everything costs an arm & a leg nowadays! Please share if any of you have seen or found any good deals

Toys r us (babies r us) have a lot of clearance items atm and a lot of deals and reductions I’ve heard that it’s because they’ve gone bust in their American stores and it’s affected uk stores too? Not sure but I managed to get a maxi cosi car seat for £70 they had a reduction then an additional offer of money off car seats so deffo take a look on there! X

Thanks! I'll definitely have a look. I've been looking for a good pushchair, cot bed and a mamaroo baby rocker. The cost is extortionate! lol

I keep an eye out on Amazon daily deals now and then and have got some bargains on that. We have quite a lot of stuff given to us by my sister and friends who arent having any more kids.
Although for bigger items that we do need new we are holding off til the January sales.
Gonna check babies r us online now too!! Im on the lookout for a playmat/gym and bouncer even though baby wont be using them for a while yet.

Sk8erzeh, Firsttimemumx congratulations. I am having a boy too :)

Have you girls bought any baby stuff yet? I found everything that we like and will get it during Jan sales. A few people are willing to give their used stuff. Im not sure about it. Cotbed, carseat, clothes and pram will be new and clothing too.

Have you thought about names yet? :)

Haven't been on here for a few days, glad to hear all scans have gone well! I'm just back from my 25 week midwife appointment, generally just checking I hadn't had any problems and listening to the heartbeat which is always nice :) baby was wriggling around in protest at being prodded with the Doppler and is still going now, clearly didn't like being woken up...

Charlotte - we've got loads of baby things! We bought a pram/car seat weeks ago now, my brother is giving is their cot and my sister passed on a brand new cot mattress that she never used for various reasons! Mum bought us a Moses basket last week.

Other than that we've probably got enough clothes to last for the first 3 months or so - some new from mothercare/marks sales, but we also got two bundles of gender-neutral baby clothes from eBay. Well worth a look - think we paid something like £15 in total, but have got literally piles and piles of nice clothes... all from Next, Mothercare, Gap, JojoMaman and Marks. You can't tell any of them have been worn, some have still got tags attached... I think because babies grow so quickly and people get given so much, a lot of things hardly get worn.

So yep - we don't really need anything else and still got 15 weeks to go!

You're so lucky. My OH doesn't want to accept any "hand me downs" from friends because of some crazy pride he has. My friends have offered and most of this stuff is almost new and expensive but he's point blank refused. I've never been so annoyed in my life!

Meery - you sound super organised!!

As this is a second baby for us we have all the main stuff we need, probably could get away without buying anything but I definitely want to make the most of shopping for new baby clothes as unlikely will be another baby after this.

The only bit of equipment planning to invest in this time is a video monitor, with my son 4 years ago these were a bit pricey but are a lot more reasonably priced now and think its a good gadget - but will only really be used once the baby is in its own room.

Team yellow baby so been looking at neutral for 0-3 but will try and not get too much as will like some gender specific once the baby arrives - the one purchase I've made is this gorgeous baby grow from JoMamaBebe with grey elephants on.

Also I love stuff from next so going to be in the queue @ 5am for the boxing day sale!!

Probably will get all the baby stuff out the loft once Xmas is over with and check if anything needs replacing, I know need to get new bottles and thinking about a next to me crib if see one in the sale.

We are getting close to tri 3 ladies!!! I still have 4 weeks to go but I think early March Mummies only have another week in tri 1?? xxx

We have bought baby monitor, nappy bin, blankets and a few other items. A lot has been given to us 2nd hand and a lot is being bought for us as gifts. But I am holding off buying much til the Jan sales like yourself. I havent bought many clothes, just some neutral babygrows and vests for 0-3 months and the basics. Glad to stay team yellow otherwise I would have bought tons by now! I know so many people will get us clothing as gifts.

We have chosen Lily if its a girl and I *think* we have agreed on Sonny for a boy but not 100% yet! Choosing and agreeing on a boys name is much harder!

Have you got your wee boys name chosen yet?x

We have happily accepted what has been given to us but anyone who has given it to us said they wont be offended if we dont want to use it or want to buy new. Out of the three pram sets (yes THREE) given to us there is one we will leave to charity shop that is a bit too worn for our liking, but the other two are like brand new and one not even used so we will keep one at the in laws and the other. We do actually like them, if we didnt we would buy new.
Some clothing my sister gave to me I have gave to charity shop and I know she wont mind but I have kept other things.
My sister has gave us her moses basket (which I actually bought her for her first and sh kept with all her 3!) so I will be using that for downstairs only and getting a cozi sleeper for upstairs.
xx

I only recently discovered JoMamaBebe and their stuff is beautiful! I really like Fearne Cottons range in Boots as well as Jools Olivers stuff for Mothercare.
I find it quite hard to get unisex stuff I like, I like rainbow/bright colours more than the usual cream/white/grey and its fairly hard to find stuff like that. Have a few little items though. Next have such gorgeous clothes too.

I was looking into the next to me crib and the Cozi sleeper from Smyths is much cheaper and the reviews are both good so I think we'll go with the latter as they are almost identical - although my sister said she will buy it for us as our main gift.

When does tri 3 start, 28 weeks? I am only a few weeks away in that case!! I have had a really good tri 2 with more energy and feeling pretty good. I cant believe how much it has flew in!xx

Not sure when tri 3 starts - is it 27 weeks maybe?

Summertime - I'm not usually this organised! OH is self-employed and in theory there's no guarantee of what money he'll be getting come Jan/Feb, so he wanted to buy things while he definitely had the money!

Loveandpeace - I'm pretty much stuck on boy names. We've got a lost of girls' ones that we like, and could add to that fairly easily, but boys are so much harder! I want something relatively unusual, but there's not much choice for boys without going too weird, and being a teacher means I have too many names ruled out from knowing too many kids with them :) We did spend an hour or so going through the name book at the weekend, so we now have a shortlist of ones that... well, I don't hate!

Hey ladies, not been on for a while,
It sounds like everyone is getting organised :). My sister is selling me her Moses basket and her side sleeper which is good. The Pram is the biggest thing we’ll need to buy as we sold ours on last time, we just didn’t have the space to store it at the time. Had my 20 week scan a couple of weeks ago and baby was in a funny position so I’m back again for another at the end of the month. But baby has a birthday! Consultant said she would be very uncomfortable letting me try for a natural labour again because of the details on my notes surrounding my pelvis :(. So 26th March is now her birthday! It’s so very strange choosing a date for your baby to be born haha.
