We're private so having to pay for everything so we get to source our drugs and what not.

Everything crossed for you tomorrow, I'm very nervous about EC, my clinic sedates but there is a chance I might need a GA as one of my ovaries can be tricky to locate. I think the pessaries will start the evening of EC XX

I did my last buserelin injection a few hours before trigger - no injections the day in between trigger and collection. Hope this helps xx

Yes, good luck! DIY IVF that's funny! My friend didn't realize that we had to do our own injections every night for several weeks! She thought we just had one or 2 injections at the clinic and then the main procedure! People have no idea what wwe go through!

I know I have had those comments too!!! Just got home, collected 20 eggs!!! So at risk of ohss but luckily they have said we can have a fresh cycle as long as I don't develop any symptoms and my scan is ok before transfer which will be Monday or Wednesday! I have to say I don't feel too good but hopefully that is just the sedation!

Hubby struggled with sample, he was really stressed about it bless him but he did it and our little eggs are hopefully being fertilised as we speak! So exciting �� can't wait to hear from the embryologist tomorrow!

When do you start the injections Dee?

It is really stressful. Take it easy its not surprising you feel unwell after what you've had done. Good luck for fertilisation tomorrow!

Has anyone seen the Sophie Vergara story in the news today? Her ex described their frozen embryos as "tiny people imprisoned in storage" which made me smile!

Wow 20! That's a great amount, fingers crossed for the call tomorrow, I hope you feel ok.

I start injections some point week beginning 11th, depends when AF shows and when I have my scan which needs to be cd1-3 xx

My plan now is to see about PGS in case its a chromosome issue. But its double the price of normal IVF, we have to go to London and is likely to result in no transferred embryos so we aren't very excited about it!

Yep all ordered and I've got to collect them tomorrow! It's actually happening! X

Do you still have to pay in full if you get no transferable embryos? What are the stats? Xx

Blueflower, would it be worth having the karyotype bloods before the IVF as if there is a chromosome issue in that respect then you can decide on a different avenue, would be a cheaper way to rule it out. Chromosomes can all be fine though and then the embryo still have a chromosome issue so may not be that helpful to have karyotype done, I just felt better for knowing when we had ours xx

Thank you ladies, really painful and bloated today!! Going on a narrowboat holiday today!! Hubby is having to do everything to get ready for it! It hurts to just stand up, please tell me this will get better soon??

Wow, 20 eggs! I was in pain for just over a week after my collection and they got 10 eggs. I would say I wish I was more prepared for the amount of bloating and discomfort as it lasted a week for me. Take it easy and drink plenty of fluids. I read that coconut water and Lucozade were good to drink after EC so that's what I did.

Blueflower, I'm pleased for you that you have a plan of action. I can't comment on the chromosome investigations as my knowledge of them is zero but I hope it gives you the answers you want.

Dee, it's so exciting when the cycle starts, bet you can't wait to get started. Everything crossed for you! X

That's very ambitious going on holiday between EC and ET! I would prefer to be lying on the sofa! I suppose you can relax on deck and watch the world go by if DH is doing all the work!

Yes I think we have to pay whatever the outcome because the procedures are a lot of work. Not found much on %success rates, just seen on the HFEA website which says 29% life birth rate for my age but only 3% for age 43-44! We were recommended to get the karotype bloods done before but DH wasn't keen. Consultant didn't recommend it this time.

I think it can be frustrating when consultants themselves don't offer much in terms of other tests or analysis/investigation or show much support or even to say it's not worth doing. It can make finding information and deciding to do something harder than what it already is but I think as the people that are actually going through the journey it's the drive we have to do as much as we can or whatever we can to get that little bit further or closer. I think if it were me and DH I would want to know as much as I could possibly find out so I understand wanting to do the test - and I probably would feel like I would want to do it even if my current consultant wasn't in support of it.

I think you have to do what feels right for you and your DH. X

Transfer day today, 13 fertilised so hoping we got some blasto's, and hoping I am ok for transfer . they are scanning me first but all my pain has gone so surely that's a good sign?

That's great! We got 13 last time too! Its strange they didn't update you between EC and transfer! Good that you get scanned though. Why do they do that? I suppose you normally get scanning during the transfer anyway.
