Ladies doing IVF or IUI - 2015 (9 BFPs!)

I think they do... keeping everything crossed for us all. Oh re hsg I didn't find it too bad inserting just the cramps during the dye injecting in... right tube blocked. Im sure they mentioned endometrial scratch will be done at mock ET and nurse consultant says its been described as very painful by some ladies!

Hi ladies! Happy new year, hope you all had a great Christmas.

So after finishing all rounds of IUI we are now on the road to our first IVF cycle. I feel excited but nervous, it will definitely give me peace of mind with regards to ovulation as I've always questioned whether I actually ovved during iui so in doing IVF I feel more confident. We met with the consultant yesterday and I got weighed and had all details checked over. All fine so we were offered two methods for the cycle, I can't remember the first one but it was a fairly lengthy cycle he said and it involved Metformin.. The second was to have my AMH checked and then with the results, determine what dosage of medication to give me and that this option would be a quicker cycle. We all agreed that the second option sounded best so I'm booked in for a blood test next week, should have results back in 2 weeks then we will have a chat and plan so we will hopefully be starting our first IVf cycle in about 4 weeks.

Hopefully we will see some BFPs very soon! X

eclairf how are you feeling now? x

I'm feeling much better thanks, kind of glad we're into the new year. Apart from not getting to transfer with IVF we had a terrible year last year, so definitely trying to think more positively about life in general. How are you feeling about the next round? Your smoothies sound interesting!

MissJ, well done for persevering with IUI and so sorry it didn't work for you. Great that you're now moving onto IVF though. I have everything crossed for you that it works as you've been through all the motions with TTC.

Blueflower, how are you getting on with the new drugs etc?

Hope everyone else is doing ok, I've not been about quite as much as we're in limbo at the moment but going to try and keep up to date with everyone...and obviously hope that we have a bumper year of BFPs!! xx

Sounds yum! Are they purple?!

Lol some of mine are pink/purple with the powder I have one of mine is a mix of green tea and acai and rasperry ketones etc so hasnt really got a colour but hubby's are usually a grey/green colour lol due to the spirulina! but hes actually enjoying them x

I am so glad your feeling better !

I know what you mean and its nice to put a close to one year and start this fresh one nice and positive :-) when are they looking to start your FET? do you have to wait a few months first?

I am feeling good about our next one, very aprehensive but only due to the first being BFN with no frosties and I got very down a few weeks after the BFN was quite sad about it all, but new year fresh start and I think we are all going to do this! I am quite eager to start but I agree with hubby as in we both want to be even fitter and healthier than last time, now we know what to expect, and he wants to see and try if he can improve his numbers and I want to loose more weight and get those eggs nice and healthy !

Smoothies are really good, I dont know how good they will be but we have done lots of reading and they cant do anything but good and we are actually enjoying them lol !

xxxxx

Hi kkheartsbaby, you have the same IVF plan as us. I start taking norethisterone on 14 Jan! Good luck. x

Yes I wont be too far behind you all being well though the main concern for them is ET as they took almost an hr getting through cervix during hsg so if mock ET unsuccessful then they are having to perform procedure to stretch cervix eeek! My luck really.

Hey hon, I had a horrible experience with hsg (smears have always been tricky) they struggled with getting the tube in, so I was really nervous about transfer but I can honestly say apart from slight discomfort it was better than I expected it to be and was wide awake, I wonder if collection under sedation helped, so fingers crossed the mock ET will be ok for you and you wont have to have the stretch done xx

My drugs have arrived! I posted a photo on my journal. 3 boxes this time! The stuff for the drip looks massive and the extra injections look scary too! Made me feel a bit sick when I opened them, like opening a gruesome Christmas present!

sounds like a whole pharmacy  I am sure they will be fine, when do you start everything? xxx

I start on my next AF around 31st Jan, probably the same as MissJuly but on the long protocol starting with the Pill so egg collection won't be till early March!

Oh no husband phoned the conception clinic like we were told to be the consultant and had quite a rude reception questioning why we were phoning her so early. Also been told a different time frame than what we were originally told. Now they are saying to expect ivf in may/June and not in march as was told by the doctor feeling deflated xx

Oh no. Is there anyone else you can speak to? That's a long time to wait if you were expecting it to be soon.

Oh no nicky! Can you phone and speak with someone else tomorrow? Hopefully there's just been some sort of mix up. Fingers crossed you get it sorted x

They said that the hadn't even made up appointment letters to send out to folk. So we are hoping that maybe there computer hasn't been updated since the appointment we had on the 22nd of December as it was during the festive period....at least that is what we are hoping! Lol xxx

Good luck to all the ladies for ivf for 2015..... keep thinking maybe we should have another shot at ivf but just not sure I can face it.

You will know if and when we are ready. This will be our last go with my own eggs.

First ever drugs pack has just arrived. Feeling a bit overwhelmed. I guess this is normal?! X

definately normal to feel overwhelmed when you get it all!

I was so confused too! I thought, I'm a nurse I am sure I will get it all right! nope lol got confused about what was what, what mesaurement etc that I found it worked for me writing it all down and ticking it all off as i went along xx

Good luck x
