I think Blueflower has given good advice re the eating.
I also have PCOS - I am not overweight, but have changed my diet considerably to try and help my hormones.
I have tried to cut out sugar as much as I can and find my cycles go crazy when I eat whatever puddings I like (unfortunately). My diet is generally low GI (there is a free app to tell you what is low, medium or high GI) which means I try not to eat bad carbs (potatoes, white pasta, white bread etc - eat complex ones like brown bread, brown pasta etc instead). Also no alcohol and I try to limit my caffeine (I haven't given up tea completely so try and have decaf as an alternative). I have also changed all my cooking oils to coconut oil (good for hormones and not damaging like the others) which I recommend to everyone, TTC or not.
They recommend you go gluten and dairy free too but I just can't do this, plus dairy has its positives anyway.
Since being on metformin I have found I get 'dips' at 11am and 4pm. Sooo, I keep a bag of nuts in my drawer at work and when I remember take other healthy snacks, such as fruit or veg, a square of dark choc or a few vegetable crisps (from Lidl - they are yummy).
I know a lot about PCOS now, diets included, so feel free to message me! Xxx
