Ladies doing IVF or IUI - 2015 (9 BFPs!)

So sorry about your cat, how horrible :-(

Hard to know that to do lisey, if that protocol is known to be good for cases like yours then why not have a consultation to discuss it? It might be the bridge between iui and IVF you're looking for.

I started my cetrotide this morning, defo happening quicker this time than last at this point xx

Sorry to hear about your cart Loubalouba :( xxx

Definitely worth a try Lisey, it's so expensive isn't it! have you looked around at other clinics ivf at my clinic is £4000 xx

So sorry about phoebe :(
I did respond quite well, we got 11 eggs which was good for my Amh levels. We are keen on the sound of mild IVF. 2 more months naturally then we're going to reassess xx

Yeah, they were very expensive £2500 for drugs alone, I read some people just having to pay £500 on meds. We would pay it again in a heartbeat if we felt it would work again but I just have this gut feeling that it won't, I wonder if less aggressive protocol would make sure we had better quality embryos. I have always had it in my had that the amount of drugs I was on contributed to the complications we had. I have never been told that but I do wonder if it had an impact xx

Also keep forgetting to say good luck to the new ladies on the thread and those just starting their IVF journeys xx

Thank you Lisey, my medication arrived this morning I was shocked at how much there was! 18 days until we start our ivf.
Less aggressive protocol would be worth a shot, definitely speak to your consultant about the idea? Xxx

My meds only cost about £500 thankfully. I guess I would classed as doing a light IVF x

Cdababy, its overwhelming when you see all the meds isn't it. Our nurse told us to put them all in the fridge and it took up a whole shelf. When people came round we had to make sure they didn't go to fetch milk or have a nosey for food!
£500 would be lovely, we were in total shock when we got the quote and I was told by the people I ordered from that it was the most expensive prescription she had ever done!!!
What dose are you on? Probably is the equivalent to mild/light IVF. I am still drawn to create, they do 3D scanning and check the blood flow to follicles etc to see if they are 'good eggs'. I don't think my clinic was as advanced as that, just normal scanning machines. There is obv more appeal than the scanning machines, my old clinic would be easier to get to but maybe a different approach that really works with my issues is the way forward. I think we will go to their open day at least and get more info xx

Got 5 boxes in the fridge the rest are stored at room temperature. I know it looks a lot but it's 2 injections a day so will go down quickly. This will be our first round of ivf with male factor infertility so I'm hoping my body responds well to it. We are taking part in a study as well so get a few free extras like endometrial scratch, embryoscope, extra scans if successful xx

They will soon go down and its nice when you see the collection get smaller and smaller. The free extras sound great. We had the embryoscope-amazing. We were given a usb stick with the vid of the two embryos we had transferred developing. I watched it so many times xx

Ours come to about £1000 which is the average I think. I bought some from the hospital pharmacy so I'd have them ready, I bought the Menopur from Asda yesterday for about £740 (!) and paid £100 or so for the ones arriving by post on Saturday! Luckily none need to go in the fridge this time, we disguised them last time in an orange Sainsburys bag in case our mums went to the fridge and we put jars of pickle etc behind them in case they stuck to the back & started to freeze! The Menopur needs to be stored under 25 °C so not sure what we'll do if we go camping as an electric cool box might be too cold and an ice pack won't be cold by the 2nd night! Any ideas?

It helps doing a short protocol as no down regging meds. I'm on 125iu of gonal f and I've added cetrotide today. The gonal f might increase to 150iu after tomorrow's scan. I'm on prednisilone this time and cyclogest and crinone gel after EC but they're not very expensive. The super scans sounds great x

I was on 450 gonal f !!!! And luveris too, buserelin too. It was the gonal f that was so expensive though. It's good to know there are more options for us.
Blueflower, I don't have any ideas about the storage when camping but if I do think of anything I will come back to you xx

Right a little portable fridge popped into my head. They do one in argos for about £47. Says it can be connected through car so could 'charge' it and hope it keeps cool long enough? May be stupid idea but thought I'd mention. There are camping fridges that you can get that run on gas or something (saw on ebay) but quite expensive xx

Blueflower it may be worth asking the campsite owners in advance to see if they can store it for you? Most site owners live on site, I'm sure they would be happy to help.

I am starting on 200 gonal f but they said that before my amh results ce in so could change. Xx

Blueflower, just wanted to add I hope they sort the meds out! I feel a little lost as well and I havn't started yet.

Me - "but how much should I inject and how fast should I push the needle in?"

Nurse - "AS I TOLD YOU, 0,5 and please test on an orange before"

This is serious stuff and they just don't care as much since they see it every day :(

I know it will all be fine for all of us one day, even adoption would make me happy and it gives me some peace. Xx

Do you not get a drugs teach? We were both called in to go through all the medication and how to use it. I had to practice on a dummy skin patch and asked lots of questions. They were really helpful.

Ok, I exaggerated a little but I did not feel relaxed and comfortable leaving the nurse. She seemed a bit annoyed I asked a lot of questions.. Doing this with nhs so perhaps they are nicer when you do it privately?

I called them today though and they said I could come in the first day of injections if I wanted to so will do that. I need to be able to do it myself since my boyfriend hates needles and freaks out having a blood test. Great :)

Does it need to be stored in the fridge? The drug company told me room temperature is fine..

Got my box now and so many different boxes, scares me a bit.
