Ladies doing IUI or IVF - 2016 (11 BFPs so far!)

That’s good to hear. I think in general long termers like to hear from other long termers that have had success, I know I do anyway :)

Still living in Hong Kong although I’m about to head back to the UK for a couple of months. It’s so different out here, you’re under a doctor, midwives are optional. At this stage they see you every 4 weeks so i have an appointment, and presumably another scan, next week which will be good.

Hey girls. Just wanted to drop in and say hi. I was logged onto the boards when myself and hubs first started ttc. Well we're at 3 years now and have just finally got all our results back from testing and we're now going straight onto ivf/Icsi. Just wanted to pop in and say hi as I have a feeling I'll be on these boards fairly regularly from now on again! Hope all you ladies are well and are having a nice weekend.

Katie

Good luck Katie. I start down regulation medicine (injections and tablets) tomorrow for my next cycle. When's yours beginning, do you have a date?

I am so proud of myself as today I managed to have 8 portions of fruit and veg, my largest ever that I've done myself, by a long shot. I Really don't like cooking so this is a big achievement :)

Syd - very glad everything is going well so far xx

Welcome Katie!

Tinsel, when do you think you'll start shots? I'm going for the last week of July. So excited, my feeling is way better for icsi than IVF

Hi tigerpaws

My egg collection is likely to be in the last week of June so after months of trying to change my diet to be more healthy it's weird that the time is nearly here. Even if it didn't work, I'll be looking to see if the outcome was much better than last cycle.

Why icsi this time for you? (Sorry if you've already said in here, it's hard to keep track of all the posts :) )

morning ladies :)

Tinsel: im on the NHS, so the wait to start is about 1-3 months according to my consultant, so just sitting and waiting for my confirmation letter now. I like you have been changing my diet, am now t total and have cut back completely on my sport - im a runner and my consultant wants be to go to light exercise only from now on. So im a little stir crazy at the moment. I hope you get on ok today starting your meds and jabs!

Tigerpaws: no idea when i'll start. I'm hoping that when my consultant said 1-3 months, its closer to 1... such an impatient sod! We'll be having ICSI too!

Our issues are mainly with me. I have severe PCOS and after some of the hormone tests came back off the scale, she's also worried about a low egg reserve.... so she's given us about a 40% chance that this all might work if we get any eggs. Scary when they send you home with all this information :O but until we start and see physically how many eggs we get, we just don't know!

Katie
Hope everyone has a decent Monday :)

We were supposed to do icsi the first time around, but sperm that day was apparently sooooo good they decided not to, and we protested because all the other tests have been unbelievably bad, but no, they knew best.
2 of 13 fertilized. One fell off on day 2. And I knew at transfer that it wasn't gonna work out. Even cried about it. Hating my gut feelings at those times.

Katie
I hope you won't have to wait long!

Tigerpaws -that is awful! I'd be so upset top xx

They always say everything looks perfect to them, yet it never seems to work...

I don't like cooking either and struggle with my veg intake but Gousto (recipe boxes) helps a lot - they pack their meals full of veg so I do find myself eating a lot healthier. I need to get back on track after my holiday and also cut out bad carbs completely (did anyone else see that programme on carbs the other night? Scary stuff...)

I don't know what we are doing in the future and having to pay makes it hit home of how much we could be pouring down the drain potentially... I just don't know.

Starting stimulation today! 14 follicles seen at yesterday's scan so about to have two weeks eating crazy amounts of protein! :)

Thanks 1sttimer & tigerpaws!

I'm relieved that I managed to do the injection ok, it's a lot more complicated than the ones I was doing last time & even involves breaking a glass vial!

Have been looking very bloated since going on to the meds. My weight has actually gone down but I have people now jumping up & offering me a seat on the tube, and the lady doing my blood tests at the clinic yesterday asked "and when is this one due?" ... er.... embarrassing!! :D

morning ladies!

hope everyone had a nice weekend!

Tinsel im sending you loads of happy and positive vibes and keeping my fingers crossed!

We had our letter come through for our group appointment, that's next Tuesday the 26th. how long have some of you other ladies waited from that appointment to the next - the next one being where you see the nurse and sign all the paper work etc? I cant seem to find any sort of time line anywhere..... hubby was a little shocked when it came through. I think when our consultant said it would be 1-3 months he thought it would be longer. im just excited to get started but really hope there isn't a huge wait between this first group meeting and moving forward... trying not to get my hopes up that as this bit as come a little quicker than anticipated, that maybe the next bit wont be far off?

hugs to you all! xx

Thanks Katie and miamia! Next scan to see how everything is growing is on Thursday morning. Tomorrow I have to face my ex in court so trying not to let the stress of that get in the way of happy egg growing!

Currently trying out a tomato and blueberry omelette with added egg white. The blueberries my idea! I think they make it better than plain :D

keeping everything crossed Tinsel! Just stay positive and don't let your ex get to you!

the omelette sounds interesting! let us know what it tastes like :D

Evening ladies, hope your all well! Xx

Tinsel, good luck! So close now xxx

We’ve got another appointment with consultant on 17th July, we didn’t want to go straight into IVF again. Want to have another go at IUI
Currently trying to lose the stone I gained from the 2 rounds x

Stay well everyone! Just been catching up with you all.

Katie, once we had our initial appointment with consultant at hospital, we got our treatment planning appointment around 6 weeks later. We started then in day 21 of my cycles (NHS)

Hi crazycatwoman,

thanks for that, were with the nhs too. we have the first group appointment on Tuesday, so im hoping from there it wont be too long of a wait before we can get going!

I don't blame you having a break hun. you must be exhausted from the first two rounds. hope you're taking it easy.

x

The blueberry omelette was marginally better than being plain but it wasn't a revelation sadly :)

A number of my follicles grew a whopping 6-7 mm in 2 days so I'm 20 mins from taking my trigger injection! So glad this is the last lot of injections in this cycle. Egg collection on Monday, the day after I turn 40! Hoping it's a happy birthday present :)
