Ladies doing IUI or IVF - 2016 (11 BFPs so far!)

Thank you, will be nice to hear from people who have been/are going through the same thing. We had the consent forms through today so we need to fill them in, book in for a couple of blood tests then they said they will contact us within 4 weeks to let us know where we go from there so I'm not entirely sure what the next steps will be once they contact us. They have told us that there is currently no waiting list so I'm hoping that things will move quite quickly. Apart from research I've done on the net I don't even really know what is involved from this point on.

I'm on my first ivf cycle. Stimmed for 18 days and took the trigger shot today. I was prescribed suprecur since I have PSO, but not the symptoms. I'm at risk of OHSS. I was confused with the dosage. I have a 5.5ml bottle yet was told to take only 1ml. Not sure what I do with the rest of the medicine in the vile. I panicked a bit because I couldn't find any info on the dosage to take or weather to keep injecting until i've used the entire 5.5lm. I'm going to trust that I have taken the right dosage.
At my last scan on friday I had 28 follies 10 i think were mature. I've had ovulation like pains and a bloated stomach for 10 days now so I'm excited for the egg retrieval on Monday which i hope will ease the symptoms. The drugs have also made my breasts very large and painful.
Dr said they will do a frozen egg transfer due to my OHSS risk. I was wondering if anyone knows how long they wait for all the hormones to leave your body before they do the FET?

Mrsbass, I'm afraid I can't help u with the FET as I never got as far as a transfer on my IVF cycles but I believe it is not more than 2months wait max. Call ur clinic if u have any doubts on the trigger shot would be my advice. Finger crossed for you that it all goes well on the collection and u have lots of mature little eggies 😊
A quick update on me.....donor has been found, collection took place on Friday. Got 7 eggs donated (is an egg sharing cycle). 4 of the eggs were of good enough quality to be inseminated and they have called this morning and 3 of those 4 have fertilised!! I am cautiously excited! Fingers crossed for the next few days 😊

I'm waiting for my first period following mc, I did ovulate from what I could tell 12 days ago so I guess anyday now..

Hey Mrsbass, probably a bit late now but I had to give myself supercur as well as another trigger due to PCO. I just left the remainder in the vial in case of anything but eventually threw it away. I didn't do a FET though so can't help you there.
20percent that's amazing news!! So glad you've come this far, hopefully you'll have some positive news in a few weeks.
Just echoing Milli, sorry again for your loss, is ivf on the cards again? Will you have to wait long to go that route?

No more ivf unless we pay for it and we've just gone broke from replacing the car after the accident so fat chance that's happening for a long time
Just got my one frozen Embryo waiting for us til whenever hubby is ready next year
I just feel so totally hopeless right now
I haven't had a good nights sleep in almost 2 weeks now. I keep waking up between 4-6am, then I can't get back to sleep. The earlier I try to go to bed the earlier I just get up. I tried staying up late hoping Id be super tired and sleep in late but was still awake at half 5. I'm getting 5-6 hours sleep if I'm lucky.
If the same happens tonight I'm calling the doctor in the morning because I can't keep on like this

Oh Millie, I am sorry ur having such a tough time at the moment.. I hope u r able to take comfort from the knowledge that that little Frostie of urs is there safe and sound and waiting for whenever u and ur DH r ready, I can only imagine how frustrating and upsetting this has all been for u. U will be a mummy u know......somehow u will get there. Think we're all tougher than we realise on here really. Xx
MrsBass, good luck for ur egg collection tomorrow! Keep us posted! 😊 I will be having an FET. Didn't fancy filling myself full of a gazillion hormones just to sync cycles with the donor....also there is a marginally higher success rate with FET's and I need all the help I can get!

Typically I didn't wake as early last night and hubby thinks it's a waste of time contacting the doctor for sleep reasons so I guess I'll just suffer.
I wish he didn't want to wait til next year, I'm ready now.

I'm so sorry you're feeling so crummy XMilllie. Try and keep positive. I listen to relaxation podcasts and use a lavender spray on my pillows which helps with sleeping issues.
My EC went well. It was a 20m procedure. Pretty painless and no bleeding. My stomach was in real discomfort before the op due to my large number of follicles. After I woke up from anaesthetic my blood pressure was checked about 5 times. Nurses urged me drink fluid and eat something. The thought of food made me feel ill. Unlike me because I do love to eat lol. Anyway managed some coffee and a biscuit.
The dr came in and told me I had 15 follicles collected. 1 had two eggs in one follicle I think. They wouldn't let me leave until I'd passed urine which would not come until I drank about a litre of water. I told them my abdomen still felt uncomfortable but they said it will pass. I was sent home to rest. I feel totally fine and my ovaries feel fine . I was told to drink 2litres of water a day to prevent urine issues and continue folic acid. They are going to give me an appointment in 14 days for a follow up. They will call me tomorrow to yell me how many eggs they fertilised. I'm having ICSI instead of IVF. I think this was due to my multiple failed iui's so they think it may have been a sperm and egg failing to meet issue.
I won't get to do my FET for another 3-4m which is really disappointing but I guess they don't want to take any changes when I'm high risk for OHSS.

Hey 20% - yep hoping to do another cycle soon. Last night I found the perfect donor for me so I am super excited and spent all night dreaming about undergoing egg collection!!

As for me, clinic called again this morning and I have 3 top grade little embryos! One is 8 cell and 2 are 7cell. They will freeze one today and then wait till day 5-6 to get the other two (hopefully) to blastocyst....then they will be frozen too until I am ready for transfer hopefully in a couple of weeks!

I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on the number of embryos to have transferred if I am lucky and all 3little eggies make it to become Frosties?
I know I can have up to two transferred. I know the multiples risk and to be honest I'm up for the twins challenge but I am going to b a single parent and I also know there r more risks involved with a multiple pregnancy so there r swings and roundabouts.
I also need to consider the cost implications cause only one transfer is included in the package I have paid for and it's pretty much a grand per subsequent transfer.
My clinic seem reluctant to advise me either way so any help would be gratefully received xx
