Great! Glad to see you're going for it

Update from me.
EC went well to say the least - 45 eggs collected! :eh: No wonder they were in a rush to bring it forward.
Unfortunately only 9 were mature eggs, but 8 have fertilised and had a call today to say that all 8 are top grade :)
I'm just feeling run down with the op, the meds, the swelling...but i don't think i've had any serious OHSS symptoms yet, so hoping things go well and i can have my ET on Wednesday.

Tinsel how is the acupuncture?

45 eggs???!!! crikey!!

That's great news about the 8 top grade ones. Fingers crossed for your ET and no OHSS xx

I've only had one acupuncture session and she said she was basically going to do very little ("nourishing" the body) but my cold was a lot better for several hours after, so it must have done something :)

xMillie - hooray, good luck for July xx

So pleased you're going ahead next month Millie. It'll be here before you know it and hopefully you find this process easier on you. I'll have everything crossed for you!

Wow mrslaw that's a lot!! 8 is an amazing number to end up with still. I'm glad you don't seem to have any ohss symptoms. Hope your recovery is going well and you have a beautiful embaby on board soon!!

Tinsel glad you're seeing some benefits already. Do you have a plan for another cycle? Xx

Thanks ladies,

Sorry for the slow reply. It sounds like everyone is doing well 😊 Keep your chin up Millie! Although I think it is sometimes easier to expect things to not go so well, that way of it is a BFN it's not quite so hard to take (well, I didn't find it was anyway.) xx

Syd, no, of course I don't mind you asking. I am using Create Fertility. They have several clinics dotted about the country.xx

Tinsel, are u having another round this month?

Well, I went for my hysteroscopy today to have my polyps assessed to be removed since they have brilliantly grown right in the centre of my uterus

I have been through 3 rounds of IVF......at no point have I experienced the level of discomfort down below that I had during the procedure and the true agony (I wish I was exaggerating) of the shoulder pain I got to experience from having the air pumped into my uterus so they could see. I'm generally pretty hardy to pain but my goodness that made my eyes water! They kept trying to cheer me up by telling me my tubes look nice and clear.....if only I had any eggs left to travel in them that may have made it better

I'm having a general anaesthetic for the polyp removal....the consultant said my cervix is set back, although I didn't get told that by the clinic at all. If it hurts like that I'm happy for them to give me every drug going!

Mrslaw, 8 top grade is amazing! Hope everything continues to look good for Weds! Good luck :)

Tinselcat, I loved acupuncture! I won't be doing it again for the fet and I will miss it! Very relaxing! Will you continue it?

MrsS, I think I am, they did say if I change my mind and need more time to let them know, but I think I'll just go for it get it out of the way. Hope everything is going well with you x

20percent, expecting it not to work made it easier this 2nd round, I cried so much on our first round I was a mess for weeks. I guess I'm not expecting much again for this fet. Whatever happens, happens.

It seems like accupuncture is quite beneficial, I haven't seen it offered at my clinic though. Do you arrange it privately?

20% sorry the hysteroscopy was so painful! When will you be having the removal?

hey everybody,
just looking for a little bit of advice,
currently in my 2nd cycle IVF / ICSI - 1 blastocyst embryo transferred & 1 Week into the 2WW
I've had pain here and there through the first week and a little bloating, which i have brushed off.
but today I've started spotting which is really worrying me, this happened last cycle too but can't remember at what stage of the 2WW.. i know it can be normal but with it happening before I'm starting to feel quite negative about it now.
my test day is a week today and its driving me crazy!
has anybody else had this?

thank you all in advance xx

I hope you get a positive result Jem
Symptoms could mean either way I guess? But hopefully it's turned out good for you

How is everyone doing?

Hi jem, how did the spotting end up? I never had spotting but I've read plenty of people say it's common. Have you tested early? I really hope you got your bfp!

Mrslaw how are you? Are you in your tww now?

Hope everyone else is well xxx

hey everybody
i did a test on saturday 10th, the line was very faint but it was positive , I've done one every day since and its clearer and clearer every day. today it appeared so quick! however i am still concerned that I'm still spotting and I've started with cramps. i am due to do the actual test tomorrow, so i feel like I'm stuck in limbo until tomorrow when i can speak to somebody from the reproduction unit.
i really don't want to get my hopes built up because everywhere I've read says pains and spotting are cause for concern.

hope everybody is okay
xx

Hi Jem

They can also be pregnancy signs. Either way, there's nothing you can do right now, but I have everything crossed for you xx

Hey jem, did you get your bfp?
I tested at 5dp5dt and got a faint line. Today I'm 8dp5dt and got another line :D praying this is it!

Hi MrsLaw that is sounding very positive, really happy for you :-) I am 8th day into down reg at the moment xx

Thank you :) It is exciting! I don't have any symptoms though which is off-putting. I had loads shortly after the egg collection and transfer but now I don't have anything. I've just got my fingers crossed that the wait is over :2ww:

Just catching up a bit now...

MrsLaw & Jem.. how are you doing? I'm stalking in the hope of some good news from both of you!!!! xx

xMillie - I'll keep doing acupuncture until egg collection in the hope that it's useful. Compared to the cost of a round of IVF treatment, it's much less significant (although not peanuts). I've no idea if it's helping my body inside, but it certainly seems to relieve the cold and cough I've been having!

20% - ouch, sorry to hear that procedure was massively painful! :( I hope it helps in some way. Good luck with the polyp removal, when is that scheduled for?

I'm in the midst of a bunch of stress right now (just had an offer accepted on buying a house - hooray, can't wait to get out this manky expensive rental place), so I'm planning to defer my plans by one month and maybe start the long protocol cycle end of July (so egg collection in September I suppose). Each month makes me nervous - I'll be 39 next week! :o

Good luck everyone! xxx
