Ladies doing IUI or IVF - 2016 (11 BFPs so far!)

Your background actually sounds very similar to mine hopeful (my names Leah btw). We have a son together we conceived over 9 years ago and have spent the last 2 years ttc number 2. All our tests came back fine too, except I have a low AMH. And yes this was my first ivf cycle :) feeling very lucky at the moment! Hope that gives you some reassurance. I've honestly found the whole process fine, injections and side effects etc have been no problem at all. It's the waiting for everything that's the worst! Are you private? Xx

Thanks Leah, it is very reassuring to hear your story and actually makes me feel quite excited! I can just imagine when you tell your OH how happy he will be, I long for that day. We are going private, we cant get funding as partner has 2 kids. How long has it took you from your first consultation to get to this stage? Did they test your AMH prior to IVF or did you find out it was low before? Sorry for all the questions xxx

Thanks Helen:D I've had 3 of them so I'm praying they aren't all evaps! I'm going to do a frer in the morning and hopefully the digi. Still can't imagine seeing those words! How have you been feeling with your little miracle? Xx

Oh wow even better then! How exciting! Make sure you let us know when you do that digi!! What an incredible first go you've had! So nice to see. What will you do with all your freezies?

I'm ok, its been hell the last week as I went to the GP last Tuesday because of a little spotting, he booked me in with epu but not until another week and a half later, which I understood as have to be over 6 weeks, but then over the easter weekend I had a bleed which was terrifying and so all plans for doing anything went on hold so I could sit tight (and have a good cry) so now I'm just willing away these next couple of days to get to that scan. I'm a nervous wreck worrying that the same is happening again as last time with my MC so just desperately need a heartbeat at the scan on Thursday and I'll relax a bit!

Apart from your spotting, just out of interest did you have any other signs that made you think you would get BFP before you got it? xx

Ask away hopeful :) if you look back through you'll see the amount of questions I asked the girls initially and they were so good to me! We had our first consultation in December, so it's been pretty quick. My GP had done loads of bloods and hubbys SA so we only needed a couple of initial blood tests before we properly started. First test I got was AMH and that was before my consultant appointment. I had my first injection on cd21, the 7th of march to shut the system down, then I had a bleed on the 14th of march. The drag was January to February, signing consent forms etc but it's been all go since march :)

Oh Helen, how worrying for you. Why can it never be straight forward? I so hope the scan shows your perfect little rainbow all snug in there. I can totally understand how you feel. I really do have everything crossed for you!

Thanks hun, feel like I've been so lucky. Hopefully I'll be posting the digi tomorrow! No idea about the Frosties yet. I'd love a big family but not getting ahead of myself! Xx

Thanks Leah, my name is Kate by the way. That's what we are going through the initial tests and then I think we need to signing forms etc, my OH has his semen test tomorrow. I will keep you posted on my developments and I will be looking out on here tomorrow for a nice snap of your digi :-) xxxxx

Hi Kate :) I have everything crossed it gets moving quickly for you. I'll definitely keep you updated on the digi xx

Feeling more reassured it's real now :) xx

Thanks lisey :D I done the tests then went in and annoyed him till he woke up then told him I'd 'cheated' which made him open one eye  then I gave him the tests and he said "I bloody knew it". He's just sitting smirking holding the tests! Xx

Hi Hopeful, no I always get a few days of spotting before my AF which I got as normal, but then it stopped so I took a test, day before my AF it was negative, day after was BFP. So no, absolutely no symptoms what so ever - in fact apart from intermittent tiredness I still don't have any which just adds to the worry but they say you can look at your mum and sister for how your symptoms will go as it runs in families and neither my mum or sister had sickness just a little nausea or too many other symptoms so I'm in two minds until tomorrow!!

Thanks Leah, I know it does seem to feel like that doesn't it! If all is ok the waiting will be worth it! If not, I don't know what I'll do. Amazing news on the digi. I cant believe how quickly it seems to have gone once you got up and running! (Not that it'll feel that way for you of course!) Now lots of rest for you mrs, take it easy and look after yourself!!

Thank you so much ladies :) so praying this one sticks around. Trying not to let my anxiety overshadow my happiness!

Helen, when is your scan? I have everything crossed for you. Now I have a positive test I can't believe how quickly it all went in but in between each appointment it felt like the longest time on earth! Xx

Thank you so much Lou. I just realised you've had your baby girl (sorry I don't often go on pregnancy journals). I'm so so pleased that you have your angel in your arms, huge congratulations. You must be on cloud 9!

Thank you tinsel  you're all so lovely xx
