***June 2018 Mums***

Hope everything is ok HS, have you had an update? Have you to go for any more growth scans? 34 weeks is still a good time so try not to panic too much.

Has anyone else thought about their hospital bags? I want to be in a pool and undecided whether to do birthing pool or on the bed, don't get much info beforehand! I'm trying to jot down ideas for the birthing plan - need to do this before next week.
What type of jammies would be best? What other essentials?

Not done anything about hospital bag yet but thinking of starting it soon as I’m on Easter hols and I’ll be mad busy when I go back to work. There’s loads of lists online but found this one that’s good for mum/baby/partner - seems quite a lot of stuff but will work through it and see how much stuff I can take with me hah

Not thought about birth much and I really need to but I’m just too terrified! Been stressing about baby moving like mental all weekend (hoping it’s just bigger and moved position), I just want a break from anxiety because it’s not healthy! My hospital has pools in all low risk birth rooms so would like to try to use water as pin relief but in reality I imagine I’ll be screaming for epidural after 5 mins...

I am really worried as I mentioned in my other thread that I'm bleeding and also giving off sweet smelling liquids what should I do? Really scared

Turn18 please contact your midwife or local hospital unit if you are concerned, you can't be told off for wanting to be on the safe side. Good luck!
Our little Splodge is too little, my placenta vessels are restricted apparently and that's the cause. Though 34 weeks is the aim we are being monitored every 6 days at the moment and if they feel the need, baby will be here sooner! I feel a little overwhelmed. I hadn't thought about my hospital bag but am now!! :(

Thank you Im not on my own with a tiny baby :(

Hope the cold has shifted HS! Sorry your growth scan didn't go to plan - 34 weeks isn't too early though. I'm glad they're keeping you monitored - not surprised you're feeling overwhelmed though!

All the above talk of hospital bags has spurred me into action and I've ordered some bit online that I want for mine today - arnica tablets, lavender oil and spritz for bits. I also bought a nightshirt in Tesco last night while I was doing my shopping. I'm hoping to breastfeed so was after something that unbuttons.

CMcDx I'm really hoping for a water birth too. I've put down on my hospital bag list to pack a long vest and a bikini top, just in case, although I do know people who've given birth in the pools in a bra after ending up with an unplanned water birth, so I wouldn't worry too much.

I've been thinking about the birth a lot haha. My main fear is that hubby wont be around for it, but I'm trying to put that out of my mind currently and just think about my preferences!

Well I had a wee panic this morning - out to hospital at 1am for monitoring as I had no movements. Went home and had a scan at 9 this morning. More monitoring and left at 11. Back on Friday and consultant appt on 26th. The NHS really are fab!!!

Baby is back in a breech position though so hoping it turns so I can still have the option of a water birth :(

These babies like to give us all scares eh!! Testing us.

Attached a pic of the face. Some slight relief...

Did you contact a midwife Turn18?

Glad all ok CMxDx, I was in triage this afternoon too, I think I just want to live there permanently! Feel I’m getting worse the further along I get :( there was someone in for monitoring in the same room (covered with curtains obvs) and she was having contractions and that was also stressing me out! Think she wasn’t dilated very much and they wanted to send her home once her baby’s heart rate had settled after being examined but she sounded in so much pain !

Like me then I'm in maternity unit and I'm on a ward all the women are really making me anxious but I don't know why?

Glad all is well CMcDx! You do still have time for baby to turn so don't let that stress you out!

Sorry that you were in too Princess.

Seems like we are having a pretty rubbish week all round - better to be safe than sorry though. x

Hi ladies hope everyone is doing ok I broke my phone and kids off school so not allowed the iPad lol so I’ve been missing in action. 31+1 and had the go for fasting bloods this morning after ++ sugar in water at midwife! Hoping was just what I had eaten before which I thought fruit and yoghurt healthy but obviously I should stick to bacon sarnies lol growth scan again Thursday at 11 and taking my youngest to see his brother.

All came back good on my fasting bloods but had scan and now have low waters around baby. Feel like there’s always something at the minute! Baby p is weighing 3lb 14oz though booked for another scan in 2 weeks so try to relax between now and then. I finish work next weds and rally looking forward to that. Is anyone else finishing soon? I feel early but needed put 2 weeks of holiday in first so maternity will start at 34 weeks hopefully giving me 5 weeks before induction.

These babies are certainly testing all of our nerves from catching up! And I thought all the nerves and worry would kick in once they arrived! Glad you are all ok and being monitored ladies. Our scan yesterday showed no improvement in flows but no worsening on the positive. However we are now on 5 day monitoring and are officiallu IUGR. They keep hammering home about reduced movement; its a lot of pressure and I'm so scared about missing something, I'm debating bringing my maternity leave forward. Although i know i could go in at any moment, 34 week delivery would mean 16th May and I'd like at least a week before it. I hate the idea of wasting time before bubs arrives though if they can stay put longer. Sooo much to consider!

i know how you feel with diagnosed IUGR and the threat of reduced movement, it feels like you're waiting for diaster to strike but if you notice it , it feels like it would already be too late......not fun at all...luckily for me the diagnosis was reversed but i had all the same wondering if i should be buying prem or very prem clothes etc.....what to expect, how early they might be....its a stressful time but its good they are monitoring you closely

Hey Spriddy! Nice to see you back. Sorry that you're not having a smooth ride of it either. Nice that you can finish work Wednesday and put your feet up though! 6 weeks left for me - not that I'm counting ;)

No worsening is good HS - glad to read that! I'm glad they're keeping a close eye on you too.

Had my first NCT class today, don’t particularly think I learnt anything majorly new - I spend too much time stalking the internet(!), but husband found it quite useful and the other couples seem nice. Did some stuff on pain relief and management, pros and cons etc and I’m so unsure about what to have as plan A!

Glad that your hubby found it useful. Anyone else wanting the kick their OH at the mo or just me? hope all you ladies are having better and more relaxed weekends than last?x

Ooh NCT sounds interesting - glad the other couples were nice.

My weekend was super busy, but really productive! Got all my flowers and veg planted in and collected my rocking chair for the nursery, as well as having a bit of work done in the house.

No to wanting to kick my OH haha, he's not been around for most of the pregnancy, and I've been fine so far but really missing him now I'm getting bigger. Looking forward to having him home soon! x
