My scan went well for the most part! Baby had arms crossed over chest area so we need to go back next week for some more measurements but the sonographer said it all looked fine! Also... I think I'm the first Team Blue?!

Ahh no summerwine! At least you get to see baby again! But yeah I don’t know what it is with these babies playing up haha!

Ooooo team blue! Congratulations! mine was a bit arsey about checking gender haha but I’d heard they can be anyway so glad I paid for a scan now!

When are you all planning on starting mat leave? I'm due 14th, 1st is a Friday so might have that as my last day as it's the end of a working week. Or is that too early??

Haha CMcDx that's soooooooo not to early lol! I was planning on having my last day on 4th May haha and i'm due on 13th June! But i've got about 2 weeks worth of holiday that I was going to use and with the bank hols in May so my mat leave wouldn't technically start until about 21st May.

I know someone who is literally leaving the week before however I had a friend at work who went on mat leave last September about a month before and she said she's so glad she did as the last month is so knackering! I think it depends what you can afford because I would go as early as I could (because I hateeee my job) however that's not very good money wise! The way i've worked it is my 6 weeks at 90% would run until 3 weeks after my due date so not too bad.

I've not been with my work long enough. You need to have worked 6 months at 15 weeks before your due date to get occupational maternity and I am 4 weeks out so I get maternity allowance which is £140 a week. Crap!!! Not entitled to any help either because of my partner's wage and even if I was I still wouldn't get anything because he has two children and because we are "uniting" families and his 2 count as my first 2. Really gonna struggle!!!!!!

Oh I only get statutory maternity but part of that is 90% of your pay for 6 weeks. But yeah £140 a week is absolute peanuts but likewise we get no help as other half is on too much money but hey ho all our bills are covered just gonna become a hermit haha x

I'm hoping to start my mat leave either on due date or the Friday before. I think I will use 3 weeks holidays at start of June though so I won't have to go back after end of may bank hol.

Sorry about the crappy mat pay/allowance situation ladies you've just made me reflect on how lucky I am - my organisations policy is good, so I must stop taking it for granted so much.

I'm with the council so if I'd been there 4 weeks longer I would get a really good one I'm just a bit out and it's a huge difference.
My maternity income won't even cover my half of bills never mind paying for a nappy partner has to do the lot so feeling a tad guilty but he doesn't seem fussed. Oh well I'll have a wee babe to take my mind off it

I know it's easy for me to say now, but I'm sure it will totally be worth it for both of you once baby is in your arms. You'll get through it. X

Yeah when I’m on mat pay OH will be bringing home 80% of our income and me 20%! Whereas at the moment we’re pretty 50/50! Yeah it’ll be totally worthwhile and I’ve always said you live to your means...so we will cope! Just hormones and the fear of the unknown is rather daunting at the moment! Haha.

I think we miiiiiight have a boy name. We both want irish names.
I've picked the middle names based on family. OH is just getting told that's what's happening haha.
In terms of a girl name, I have had one that I've said for years and years that I'd want my daughter to be called that but am looking at other names. We'll probs end up going with it.

So EVERYONE in my dad's side of the family has a name beginning with J, unfortunately they all passed away quite young, including my dad. Only got one aunt left. My best friend, Melissa also passed.
So my names I like are:

Niamh Melissa J Brackett or
Aidan J Brackett.

We are currently set on Dorothea Anne...my other half's Nan was called Dorothy but I liked the Greek alternative Dorothea because you have more options to shorten it such as Thea, Dottie, Dot etc! And then my Nan's middle name is Anne.

Well we had our boys name set it stone anyway which is Frederick which kinda made me want a boy haha! But I realllllly hope it’s not a boy now as everything’s pink! Haha

Names are such a pain! I really wanted Luna but hubby has said no chance! So we’ve got some ideas but will probably keep changing our minds. He doesn’t want something popular but I don’t want anything downright weird haha!

How’s everyone doing with feeling movements? I swear my baby is way more active on a saturday!! Just got up to go to the loo and clearly had quite a full bladder coz after I’d been baby went crazy haha

Baby is a night baby, 9pm kicks in and it's non-stop!!! Hope it's no the sleeping pattern when the baby is here haha.

I’m a bit worried her movements slowed a little bit, I felt a few kicks last night but I used to feel quite a few around 7am ish and then quite a few in the evening 6pm-10pm ish. I am still feeling a few but I don’t think it’s as many as I was feeling I’m not sure! I had my scan Tuesday and all was fine so I’m not sure why to do!

Call midwife if you’re really unsure, that’s what I keep reading . I felt them similar timings as you and then they changed a bit and I freaked out, didn’t ring but wish I had, then I got to the weekend and she went crazy, think some quieter days are normal at this stage but all the advice is to ring. I’m so busy in the week that sometimes I really have to concentrate on feeling her or have a few biscuits haha, at weekends she rarely stops moving...!!

All good she’s been kicking like a trouper non stop now haha! Even OH felt her last night which brought a tear to my eye haha! I’ve also ordered a kicks count wrist band...it’s like the rubber charity bands but with numbers around it and a little plastic square that you move round every time you get a kick as I’m useless at logging it on my app!

Two things I’m getting frustrated at at the moment: 1. People keep joking that everything I’ve got is pink and that she could come out a boy and it keeps panicking and therefore stressing me out grr! 2. I thought I was quite big however everyone keeps telling me that I’m small for 5 months and then I worry because I think is the baby not growing but my scan was fine...why don’t people think before they open their gob!
