Does anyone have any tips for back ache? It’s really low down my back... lying completely straight on my back was the only way I could ease it but I won’t be able to do that for much longer! I’ve ordered a pregnancy pillow too

Just left my husband to work then threw up 4 times in the car. Lucky I had a bucket in there from when we used it to pour water over the car when it was icy. At home again and in bed. Can still barely move. Can't wait for the sickness to ease a bit- I couldn't take 9 months of this. Fingers crossed it's soon! Xx

I get that... pillow between my knees and keeping my back straight when on my side helps. Pregnancy pillow sounds like a good idea x

Happy 13 weeks!!! X

Shoot Laura you really got it bad... stay in your bed and fingers crossed it passes soon and Tri 2 is kinder to you x

Anyone else back to work today?! It is a nightmare haha, I couldn't sleep last night because of my stupid ear. I'm in so much pain with it, antibiotics finished yesterday and still just as bad as before :(

So amazing to change my ticker :D 13 weeks and 3 days - 4 days closer than I originally thought :D

Laura sounds rough. Try eating something small if you can and chill in bed. Fx it passes soon xx

Katybaby happy 13 weeks! We're all so close to leaving 1st tri behind! Agree with KHTWs advice. I have a herniated disk and that exactly how I sleep when it flares. Keeping knees apart eases pressure on the spine. Will need a pregnancy pillow too soon lol xx

So tired today currently still lying in bed watching to with dd. I can't be bothered. Waking up in the mornings recently with a dodgy stomach too which is great lol :/

Katybaby, you should get a self referral to a local physio now you're pregnant. I see mine for the first time on Thursday and honestly, I really hope she can help sort me out as my back troubles are really starting to affect me now. Granted, there are underlying issues, but if you're feeling discomfort like that this early on, I do think you should speak to your midwife and get physio started. just try a normal pillow between the knees and one behind your back for now to see if it does help. If it does, go and buy a pregnancy pillow. I do feel for you though. I'm lucky in that it is bed that eases my back/leg troubles, just the other 17-18 hours a day that I struggle with, minus the odd nap, lol.

Fingers crossed you can find a way to ease it though.

Jemrose, will you go back to the GP? You probably should if the antibiotics haven't sorted it. Ideally, you should be symptom free before the end of the course, so each day you're not taking AB's while you still have symptoms, it could be getting worse. I'd definitely give them a call.

I can't believe I'll be officially 14 weeks tomorrow. It's a real milestone for me as it was 14 weeks that I had a D&C when I was 26, for a baby that was never going to mature to term. Things do happen for a reason and I'm very glad I didn't have that partner as the father of my child, but it's always been on my mind, so to get past 14 weeks will be huge for me.

Hope you all have a lovely day xxx

Oh, Laura, that sounds awful. Really hope it eases soon. xxx

Tri 2 for you soon then GG. 14 weeks amazing :) xx

And yeah I probably should go back to GP but I'm back to work, really don't feel well enough to be here tbh x

Jem. I had an ear infection, had to have 3 lots of anti biotics. Apparently when you're pregnant it's hard to get rid off!!
Tiredness is killing me to, hubby doesn't get it :/ I always needed 9-10 hours when not pregnant to feel refreshed... Now I'm just a zombie lol.
GG yay second tri tomorrow, huge milestone :) x

Ahh not good, I think I will have to go back to doctors. It honestly feels no better and today feels like it did before I started antibiotics. My eyes are burning, my ear is so painful and giving me such a headache. I can't hear out of the ear lol and I'm a secretary - have to listen to letters through headphones and type them up, bit impossible to do when I can't hear!! Might have to not come in tomorrow, will try and do the most I can do today but I feel so awful.

With you on the zombie, can't wait to have some energy x

Hi Ladies,

I have been offline for ages so missed so much. I hope you are all doing ok and looking forward to moving over to second trimester group soon :)

The reason why I have been away from the forum is because quite honestly I have been swamped. Work has been crazy and on top of that I have had such a bad nausea. I thought it was easing off but at 11 weeks it came back and not I feel worse than ever! This is nothing like with my DD. Is anyone else feeling like this at almost 12 weeks and is this normal? I cant stand it much longer! I cant eat and I wake up in the middle of the night feeling so sick I cant go back to sleep:sick:

Had the Harmony test to find out if baby has downs syndrome and the results should come any day now.. really nervous. Is anyone else having it? I will find out gender as well which is exciting.

Take care everyone!! xx

Morning Ladies,

I'm planning on telling my manager today!! Eeeek nervous!

What the hell do I say? lol, he's male so I'm trying to think how i start the conversation.

Sarah wish I could remember how I told my manager, I was so petrified that my mind has just blanked it all out haha. My manager was lovely about it though, I do remember that x

Good luck Sarah, don't worry about reactions... Nothing they can do.

Mariaisabella, I didn't really have nausea or sickness, then at 13 weeks I woke up throwing up and been having nausea often, god knows why it's come so late. Good luck for the harmony test :)

I did my Doppler last night the heartbeat was so loud and s/he was having a good riggle around had to turn it off before it woke my dd up aha. :) x

"So, you know how I'm a woman and women have wombs? Well, mine has been reserved for 9 months so I'll need to take maternity when I get towards then end" :)

That's not a serious suggestion, unless your boss has a good sense of humour, but there's nothing he can do and it's your right to both be pregnant and take maternity leave. I'm sure he'll be absolutely fine xx

So I have been feeling so rotten at work today that I cba to work, so looking at maternity clothes sales online. £31 spent in New Look on 2 dresses, 3 tops and a skirt - I call that a bargain! And some £9 jeans reduced from £35 in Mothercare. Very happy :D

Thanks :( Im getting worried about my job as I have to keep calling in sick tho and I'm worried they're going to just fire me for too many absences.

Also my husband seems annoyed at me. I messaged him to say what had happened and he replied " get some sleep". Don't know if I'm being overly sensitive but he doesn't seem to give a damn :(
