Ok sooooo full story!!!
At 6pm I had the tablet inserted then it was basically a waiting game. At 12pm I was examined and cervix was soft and ready and I had no waters to break so they decided to put me in drip after all. Drip was started at 2am and I was about 2-3cm by then. Nothing happened straight away just was trying to sleep (was lying in my side) she upped the dosage 30 mins later but still not much and i was able to sleep.
Babies heartbeat started dropping a little and I was moved to sitting up etc... Then bam pain started!! It was so intense. Every time I had a contraction it really really hurt and baby's heartbeat dropped. They stopped the drip and doctor stayed to watch over for a little while... I kept contracting on my own without the drip. Baby eventually calmed down and doctor was happy with his heartbeat. I was continuing to contract though without the drip - although not as instense however started to use gas and air to help.
So by this point baby heartbeat was ok but my contractions started getting stronger. They got really strong really quick and I felt a lot of pressure. They weren't going to examine but because of how strong they were (i was still off drip at this point) they thought they would examine me. They were expecting me to be 4cm but i thought if I was 4cm there was no way I could carry on with gas and air.... Well I was 9cm!!!!! This was about 5am ish maybe a little over (I was really looking at time lol).
Within 30 mins I was fully dialated and ready to push. When I started pushing though his heartbeat dropped so doctor ended up using the suction cup to help. It literally felt like I was pushing for 5 mins and that was it!! Baby Kian was born at 5.53am!!
So did it all on gas and air and very quick!!
Honestly can say it was an amazing experiencing and really one I didn't expect to happen so fast.
As Kian is only 5lb 7oz we have to stay in for 3 nights for his observation.
I'm trying to breastfeed but it's quite hard with him being so little and his temperature dropping but he's doing better now. I've been expressing to help feed him.
so overall having the drip wasn't that bad and if anything really sped things up!

Ah fab labour story! It really was so quick in the end! Glad you're borh doing well, don't worry about his size me and my sisters were all tiny, I was a 5lber, hopefully you'll both be home in a few days.
