January 2019 testing

I’m just wondering what the general consensus is for testing in regards to telling your OH?

I normally test on 11dpo. I don’t bother to tell my OH I’m testing, but he never asks. I mostly don’t tell him as I don’t want to get his hopes up and disappoint him. Then AF comes and he never asks if she’s arrived or not and I don’t tell him but eventually he finds out lol he probably doesn’t even know how long a general cycle is lol

He is supportive and obviously wants a baby etc and he finally understands the fertile period lol it’s just interesting as I’m always stressing about OPKs, then I test, then I’m deflated and down when it’s a BFN. But sometimes it can be lonely, which is why this forum is so great! Maybe I should start telling him when I’m testing so it’s not all on me. Just wondering how other OHs are? And if you tell them you’re testing?
I don’t tell my hubby when I’m doing OPKs or if I’m texting either. I also don’t want to get his hopes up. When AF arrives I tell him so he knows DTD is off the cards for a few days haha. If you want to involve him more then why not? Maybe speak to him about what you do do and ask him if he could support you with it? Just do what works for you hun and what’s best. I’m sure your OH would be more than willing to support you. I just don’t think it crosses men’s minds that we do all this other stuff and stress about it haha x

Yes, you’re totally right that they probably don’t even think about it! And a lot calmer than us! When I did get pregnant, my OH was brill about running to the store every couple days to get more tests etc

I did tell him I did OPKs and then would say if it was positive so we had to DTD that night etc but that didn’t work because then there was too much pressure lol so now I just initiate BD when it’s the fertile period but I don’t tell him lol so far it’s worked!

I think I might talk to him and say like, do you ever wonder if I do tests etc and just get his thoughts as he never asks about anything during the TWW whereas I’m constantly symptom spotting and counting down the days till I can test haha. Thanks for the advice!! :) X

Don’t take ibuprofen at all, take some paracetamol or Tylenol or whatever you call it there lol

Thinking of having this month off from trying. Really struggling this month with my emotions. Plus my fiancé is working extremely
Long days this month. I think I need a break.

Oh Lolly, I’m sorry you’re feeling so down.

TTC is emotionally draining and I know sometimes I have to take a step back, we have a break every December so that we can just enjoy each other.

Take as much time as you two need. I’m here if you need to chat x

Hi girls, I need your advice... I started temping this month for the first time and I am a bit confused. I always thought I ovulated cd17/18 but today I woke up added my temps and it automatically set ovulation for cd10... on cd11 I remember feeling extremely tired with headache and nausea and then today (cd13) i have ovulation cramps.. Now I am worried cause I didn't bd on cd10 :( Could it still change and could the cramps be before ovulation? what are your experiences? (chart attached)

I’m just wondering what the general consensus is for testing in regards to telling your OH?

So i tested at 10dpo and assumed i was out, so bluntly said to him 'negative, so were out this month' and that was on a wattsapp message as he was at work, so that was that.

Thankfully the girls on here reassured me it might still be early, so i decided to test again on Monday morning, and to my absolute shock i got my bfp.

I decided not to tell him until he came home - that was a long day  so i left a message on our hallway floor for when he got home - confused is an understatement

Because i had already said to him we were out, he didnt quite get it, didnt get it even more when i showed this little piddly stick to him and this faint line

So in a way i wish i never told him when i tested and what the results were and just held out and waited and told him when it was very obvious. Him and i are best friends so tell him EVERYTHING so it would have been hard to do that.

But my advice to anyone testing is, keep it to yourself and when you know for sure, definitely tell the oh, but everyone is different x

Lolly it is so draining isn't it, and it's totally ok for you to be struggling. Sometimes it's the times that you aren't trying and so much more relaxed that it actually happens.
Here for you always <3 x

Thank you does this include asprin /anaddin?
Back story is i basically get migraines but weird migraines, where they arent typical but will be sudden and if left for too long without a anaddin will progress to sudden instant tierd etc..
In your opinion i should drop ibuprofen for tooth (luckily its actually really calm today anyway) & drop asprin? I know when i get pg a dr will be one ill have to discuss this whole headache prevention with as it is a weird long story that started when i was 21 and a neuerological condition that nearly made me blind etc and now seemingly gone has left me with weird migraine style headaches. Sorry to keep rambling!

Zeni believe it or not i still don't understand temping even though i been doing it for a few months. I thought your had to get 3 risen temps after ov for ov to be confirmed? Maybe i am wrong though, but there must be a reason why FF made CD10 as your ov date. Are you using OPK's too?
Your symptoms are sounding like they would match up to your chart so maybe you have ov'd early. When did you bd around that time? xx

Really interesting story! Because i will only have 1 child i keep thinking when/if i am ever lucky enough to have this news everyone must find out in a awesome way.. (im crazy right!)
But yeh i never tell dh when i am due on but annoyingly he tends to guess nowerdays and cause every cycle im convinced im pregnant (so stupid) i tend to sorta express symptoms

Hi Char, I was very surprised it set my ovulation date as well :/ I ran out of OPKs so I didn't test this month, only temping.. I bd'd cd9 morning, cd11 (not sure much went in though, sorry TMI...) and cd12 evening (all shown on my chart) xxx

This is a good topic to talk about xoxo. I have met what i would now call a really good friend from this forum and we speak daily on whatsapp. She tells her OH exactly she when she is testing and i don't. She think i am crazy that i don't share it with my OH but i know how heartbreaking it is for me to see the bfn so i wouldn't want to share this also with my OH.
I had a CP 2 cycle's ago and my OH doesn't even know about it. I kept this to myself (and of course you ladies) i felt i would just deal with it so much better this way. I do often think maybe i should tell him but then i also think why? what is the point. It is a strange one because on the other hand i don't keep anything from him but this TTC journey is such a crazy ride i don't want to make it anymore complicated than it already is.
I often show him my OPK's when i get my positive because i order him to the bedroom lol and he just laughs.
Everyone is different i suppose but i find this way works for me x

If you DTD on CD9, CD11 and CD12 i would say you pretty much would be covered. I would if you can just carry on DTD every other day up until the day you thought you do ovulate and keep on with the temps incase FF changes your ov date. xx

Hopefully i have attached my chart as a guidance...
I have always been told ovulation cramps are nothing to go by as you can get them before or after or during O. For me personally i seem to have months where i do and months where i dont get O cramps.
Re temps dont stress about taking them just take them when you wake up.. i used to stress about waking up perfect time and getting to bed perfect time so dead accurate and they will never be absolutely 100% accurate anyway
I have attached my chart as personally i dont tend to go up 98.00 before O and usually 98.40 range however this month im seemingly running hotter!
I cant see a clean cut O date on your chart as such as its seems to bounce a bit however cd:10 is likely.! I would do some opk testing next cycle on so you can help FF be more accurate. Also note down stuff my chart is a mess of notes haha so note down how your cm was perhaps how much when you get cramps what type add specifics of your own then you can refer back to get a more better idea of symptoms prior O

Hope helps :)
