Same PrincessP, it's miserable isn't it? On Sunday (finally a day off after 6 on the go) and I crashed out with flu. Feeling extremely rough and have my flight home tomorrow. Bleh. Hope things pick up for us all soon xx

Sooo I'm flying back tomorrow!! Woohoo. I'll be approaching 11 weeks when I get back, so I'm sort of wondering if anyone knows the drill in terms of getting onto "the system". I guess I need to contact GP and then they will probably sort me out with a booking appointment pretty quickly and then wait for the 12 week scan letter. Does that sound like the right course of action?

Exciting Laura! And yes, that seems like the best way. I think most GP surgeries have some form of midwife service attached to them, although you might have to go to a different location.
When I went for my booking appointment the midwife called and booked the scan then and there.
Oh, and apparently it's not a problem if you have the twelve week scan a little later. My team leader was in Australia at 12 weeks so was almost 15 weeks when she had her first scan, was apparently no problem.

I expect I probably will have to wait a bit later than 12 weeks because of the short notice, although being impatient, I'm hoping it won't be tooo long I also need to find out whether placenta is shared soon as possible, as I will probably need extra scans due to twin to twin transfusion risk. xx

Very exciting! The only thing about a later scan is that the screening tests need to be done before 14 weeks and 1 day or something.

My GP told me I could have just directly contacted the midwife and didn't need to go through him. My dirt appointment was at 5 ish weeks, my scan hasn't been booked in till I'm 1 day short of 14 weeks! I thought this was really late!

That's what mine was till we changed it! All the hospitals seem really busy at the moment. Someone said there is a baby boom this year!

Just back from our 12 week scan! They brought my due date forward to 6th Jan...which is kind of weird because I was doing OPKs and didn't ovulate til late? But anyway, scan was lovely, just one in there and looking nice and healthy.

Hi ladies , I didn't write as this pregnancy is a bit a roller coaster. I want to be happy but I can't. Tomorrow I'm going for our first scan. I'm 10 or 11 weeks depends how calculate. My midwife get me dating scan as I was very anxious . I have bad feelings and I'm very depressed. I feel okay, which is similar to pregnancy with my son but I don't feel pregnant and due to last missed mc I have feeling that's happening this time as well. Ufff I'm a mess... Will let you know tomorrow if I'm staying with you in Jan tread.
