How are all you new mummies doing?

Hey Lynne, welcome back. I had Emma 17th Feb. Ps: your baby has the same birthday as my 8 year old :-)

Jen, saw that pick if S sitting on your bag. Lol. Hopefully that nappy didn't leak!

Jojo, we had the same issue with our stairs having a ledge and window so nothing to attach the gate to unless we go up 5 steps. So we've ended up putting a huge gate across an opening further back in to a room. Working ok so far.

I've spent all day tidying my house to then go cook dinner and the little monsters destroyed it again. I don't know why I bother. Tried to get the kids to get all their toys that are broken or they don't play with anymore so we can give away or throw out. You would have thought I'd cancelled Christmas. Massive tantrums, I think I might just cancel Xmas! Only day one of school hols too!

We haven't for anything to attach it to as the stairs come Onto the living room and there's not anything else to attach it to. We have he same issue (but much worse) upstairs so it looks like we're going to have to just put the gate on the bedroom door.

Is anyone else's kid obsessed with doors? Our house is kinda open plan downstairs, only front door and small porch then one door into our living room and one kitchen door- one of always shut and one is always wedged open when were in because of he cats so he never really sees them open and close unless someone is at the door and we open the hall door.... When he goes to his grannies there are doors everywhere and he's obsessed with them!

Hi mrs nel : wave: glad your good!

In other news we have turned a wee corner with sleeping. I've made her lunch 1130 and dinner 330/4 instead of 5 so I can give her sone porridge before bed without feeling like I'm stuffing food down her. It seems to be helping gym her sleep to 6ish. Also went cold turkey with milk and she now only gets 18oz (she would take up to 30 odds if I let her) so turned a corner with food too. She's choked just now tho so had a bad day yest with food but she still slept all night :-) me on the other hand, still have serious insomnia from listening out for her, especially with her cold just now x

Luke wouldn't have his bottle past night, as I result he woke up at 1:30, why oh why is it always en I have work he nxt day? Why?! He was back down by 2:00 though but I had to be up at 6:30... I've never plastered so much makeup on my face as I did thismorning to make me look human - I'm
Working with one of those "well
If you wanted sleep you shouldn't have had kids" kind of people- 6 hours with her and I have to try not to kill her or knock her out

Yup. I have to have a door strop because the first thing austin tries to do is shut the door. Wasn't so bad a first because he's just move it a bit but I'm worried he'll trap his fingers trying to shut it

Hi ladies

hope you dont mind me dropping in but i was part of the April mummies group amongst others and i haven't really been on since having my son in April.

My hubby has started a new job and is working 10-15hours a day and im on my own the majority of the time and getting a bit lonely so thought id pop back in.

How are you all and your little ones?

Lynne

xx

Welcome back. How are you managing? My hubby is sometimes gone for 12 hours & it wipes me out! Luckily we turned a corner with our LO when he started crawling around 7mths & started to entertain himself

Hi mrs nel : wave: glad your good!

So cute the little rascal! You'll have to show her that later in life & she'll be horrified she sat on a designer Bag lol!

Deep breaths jojo x x

Just checking... Is murder still against the law?

She's driving me insane and I've only been with her an hour and a half! I've heard about he best way to dress, feed, clean, look after, raise children! I was discussing controlled crying with a woman I work with because her aught we in law is doing it with her grandson and she didn't know what it was, and his woman said she would psychologically damage if you didn't pick a child up the first time it cried.

She's been telling me my child is too skinny and I don't feed him
Enough, that I shouldn't be leaving wih his dad because men can't look after kids (I'd love her to say that to one of my mates who is. Male nursery manager) - I've been told that I shouldn't let him sleep in his own room until hes 2. Her kids are 27 and 34 and still at home because she just holds the stings that tight and won't accept any girlfriends... Urgh!! Seriously!

2 hours !!

Oh and on top of that we were talking about someone she knows who just found out her son is gay and I said that as long as her son is hapy she should be happy and if Luke ended up being gay I would support him - she said she would've thrown hers out until he changed... Not pinching her in the face is one of the hardest things I've ever done!

I know it's a typo but the image of you pinching her in the face is hilarious! Lol

Lol she winds me up so much!! I'm taking a slow job doing the medication audit let me tell you!

Oh dear Jojo sounds like you are having a great time at work!

Iwitch-thanx for the welcome! To be honest im not having a good day. Hubby is away to work and was in a proper stinker of a mood. Its torrential rain here and i need to go out but my sister is popping down later whenever she is fit to drive! So i asked her if she could bring me in the few bits i need. She said no bother but it wouldnt b till much later and the shops will b packed by then. But if i wanted to i could take my son to her and i could just go myself. Im grateful of the offer but its getting him ready, his bag, then myself and then piling into the car. She doesnt realise its much easier if she just comes pick him up. Nobody has ever offered to come get him to give me a break.
Xx

Aaww that sucks. I'm lucky I have my mum. She would come through & take austin if I needed but by all accounts she's generally always later than she says she will be! Be cheeky & ask xx

I didn't see your post mrs.nel - welcome back, sometimes we do need a break. I have nappies and good At everyone's houses to make taking him places easier. I also always gave a nappy inside a nappy sack and a s travel size pack if wipes in my handbag as emergency lol.

I think when it's singing we also feel miserable.

Thanx ladies. My mum works full time nightshift so cant really help and my inlaws always have my brothers in law kids cos they just dump them whenever they please.
Im also down about not shifting any weight and not being able to get to the gym due to hubbys hours.
Oh and the rain!
Xxx
