How are all you new mummies doing?

Hey ella, I totally get that! I feel like I'm on an upwards climb hamster wheel constantly! Between S being ill and the worry, sleepless nights with and without her up, working 4 days and due to hubby's shifts, mostly doing dinner, bath and bed myself - I'm like the walking dead half the time! I've decided that if i still feel like this after the year and if S still isn't sleeping I'm going to get signed off work for a while. I'm not sure about the blood part, I would get it checked out if your worried tho. Hope everything eases up for you all soon.

Jojo if it were me, I would wait til after Christmas and say thanks and let them know what you got him. Gives them poss ideas for next time and if your worried about offending them then just wait.

Jojo, I'd wait till after Xmas, then say what you bought. They probably sent money cause they had no clue what to get. I do that a lot!lol.

News in our house. Emma is standing now with out holding on to stuff. I only noticed it when her walker rolled away from her and she stood there in shock. I find her pulling herself up on stuff, then letting go just to practice. So funny. If I put her down and put a finger on her head she does it too. Thnk she thinks I'm holding her up.lol

Aaww that's fab! Well done emma! Austin is having some sort of growth spurt. I usually struggle to get him to take anywhere near 20oz of formula & past few days he's drank over! He's waking a number of times in the night but thankfully not for a bottle. I'm starting to dread January coming a bit now because im so shattered! don't know how I'll cope without the ability to nap when I'm really tired!!

Well done Emma!

Stacey - thomas is doing the exact same thing. Last 4 nights have been hell. He can actually sit down from standing in some places but doesn't seem to in his cot. He either stands screaming or sits screaming.

He's on another leap now so I've no doubt it's that. Just trying to ride it out and hope he goes back to normal. His naps are ok just his bedtime that is taking up to two hours to put him down :(

Oh I'm glad I'm not alone! I was googling it and it's very common he only woke around 5 times last night to be laid back down! By far a better night than the previous one.
Today we are playing ring o' roses all fall down, all day haha! He WILL learn to get down!

Jen your doing really well to cope with all that on your own but id be thinking of doing the same I'm sure your work will understand.

My stepdad is in Manchester having his op today an will be in there over Xmas and new year, he arrived yesterday to be told more bad news that it was worse than what he'd been told previously (again) and that he would need to wear a bag, previously told he wouldn't need one. They will flush chemo through him and possibly some treatment afterwards. Fingers crossed it all goes ahead and goes well.

Toria that's funny she stands when you put a finger on her head! Stanley is so much steadier on his feet than he was last week.. It was probs due to his all nighter the other night legs like steel now! :|

I've been researching our nursery options. Rather surprisingly, the nurseries in the town where we work do have spaces at the moment. But the finances are terrible. I know every extra penny will help, but with at least 85% of my take home salary going on childcare I am seriously questionning whether it is worth being miserable for such a small financial reward. OH won't discuss with me so I am getting so stressed out about it. :-(

Thanks Jen! Think we may have turned a corner today as no complaints of ear or tummy ache. They're both starting to eat better too.

Maud - nursery fees are horrific. Roughly 90% of my salary is going on them! The only up-side at the moment is I do love my job and if I can keep working it'll benefit my career prospects in the long term. Short-term though it's been a nightmare. What with both of mine being ill and not being able to go to nursery (OH has been looking after them) plus the department working long hours and shifts being decided at the last minute, I'm trying not to think too much about what I'm not earning. Why won't your OH discuss things with you?

The whole job thing stinks. If thomas was at nursery full time it would be 50% of my salary but because it's only 1 day it's not that bad. I'm considering a career change later once we've had baby number 2 but until then I'm in limbo.

I really bugs me and i genuinely feel sorry for everyone that has to compromise

So thomas was really cranky tonight as he was so tired and he's gone straight to bed at 8.15 with no fuss at all and has woken briefly at 9.30 but has gone straight back to sleep. Such a relief!!

It's been a very taxing day though as he woke at 8.30, refused to have a morning nap. We went out, came back at 12.30 and he fell asleep in the car and had a 30 minute nap. Was getting tired around 4.15 but again refused to sleep in his cot so I've been battling to keep him awake as a nap after 5 is a total killer for him going to bed at 8.30.

He was in a terrible mood by the time we left my inlaws at 8 tonight but it seems to have done the trick so I'm hoping we can get into a better routine now

Have you tried an earlier bedtime? Luke was getting like that but his sleep improved a lot when I pushed it to 6:00

Work has given me a £140 Xmas bonus :) that's me pampered for Christmas

He def doesn't need an earlier bedtime. Last few nights he's been up till 11 wide awake. Just a one off as he didn't sleep much yesterday.

£140 bonus is great! What a nice surprise

We cut out the afternoon nap and made his bedtime 6 and he's happy as larry most nights now. But it depends on thre baby.

Luke had wi breakfasts today by accident lol I went to have a bath and then went to feed luke and hubby wS watching me! When he started crying3/4 way through he said "I've already fed him"

I'd rather sort his day out so his bedtime is always 8 otherwise when I go back to work we'll never see him has both me and his dad will get in after his bedtime.

If there's no way of avoiding it then I guess that will happen but at the moment it's fine

So it's nearly 9.30 and thomas is still wide awake. He's only had 45 minute nap today. Arggghhhhhh :wall2:

Hopefully he'll sleep soon.

Hayley has a little cold so has been abit grumpy and snottier than usual. Her 3.5 tog sleeping bag arrived today so giving it a go tonight with a long sleeved sleepsuit underneath. She's woken a few times (but i think purely down to blocked nose and a cough)

Luke got his top 2 in properly now. Now he can really bite! We've been setting my mums Xmas tree up (it's 7ft 4) and he's amazed by it lol it's absolutely huge and full, quite realistic looking and puts our 5ft tree to shame.

It may be a coincidence but Hayley slept really well in her slumbersac sleeping bag. Shes actually still sleeping just now, so im feeling alot more reffreshed from having a better sleep. \so thank you to whomever recommended it :D

Aw wee teethy smile for luke :) I havent had time to read back but i hope everyone is doing well.

I think thomas is still teething. Pretty sure his second tooth has come through and there looks like there are more very close. Such a wonderful month, a leap and then teeth!

He finally went down at 10 and woke up at 7.30!

Luke woke up midnight last night and he was crying because he was tired, babies have no logic
