How are all you new mummies doing?

Omg Toria cheeky cow I like how she's asked u to buy her the most expensive gift! How much have u spent on the others? I think it's too much personally I'd get her a cheaper tablet xxxxx

Yeah I know it was a lot but it was my dream venue. The venue and catering cost 15k had to have the caterer that the venue recommended, it was flipping awesome. The rest was my dress, flowers etc.. We got money as a gift from everyone which we used for honeymoon.

I keep saying if we won the lottery is hire the venue out for a while weekend and do it again. Hengrave hall in suffolk. Really beautiful place, love all the history. Elizabeth the first visited/stayed there

And let's face it, you only do it once! Ours cost around £12k including honeymoon. We were fortunate tho - despite budgeting family gave us money to help out then the money we got as gifts we spent when we were on our honeymoon.

Weddings are brilliant no matter what you spend as long as you put the thought in there. We had a few extravagances that we both wanted that would have saved us money if we didn't have them. We paid £100 for a giant bride & groom made of balloons but worth it for the photos coz the drunk guests were dancing with them lol!

Bad night here, little dude is full of cold & I have a bit of it too. We co-slept last night but only benefited me by not having to get out of bed frequently! Bought the calpol plug in which I think helped me lol!

Ladies with babies at nurseries. Silly question but do you send your LO to nursery with any footwear or just socks?

Jojo, baptism course? Our priest just gave us a booklet and said read it before the day!

Kathryn, £25k!!!!! We got married in NZ at a vineyard with 60 guests, flew business class, and had 10 days in Fiji on the way back for just over £10k. That was almost 8 years ago though. And exchange rate was 3.5.

Yeah - just one evening and things but it's to understand the importance of the commitment of getting them baptised... I've actually been asked to help run it next year. It was nice actually, it does through ge ceremony and what to expect. On our diocese we can't get our child baptised without completion.

Our wedding was about 6- 7k and was a big church do with three wedding cars, a limousine and a bus lol - big posh hotel with 2 receptions, wedding breakfast and buffet with extra desert option in the evening and accommodation in the bridal suite.
We didn't pay for church or church flowers or anything because we know the community so well.

I'm At work feeling awful but if I go home I have a baby to care for so not much point going home lol

I've done all my as shopping and it's all wrapped thank god! All apart from some or hubby's and stuff for his sticking. I also have to wrap photo frames up once I've had the pictures printed out

I've bought some of Hayleys pressies but haven't bought a thing for any one else yet. EEk. I've been trying to find an advent calendar to get for hayley, but not having much luck finding a decent non chocolate one.

Iv got Ryan a milky bar one! :) I should have got one for myself damnit lol x

We spend approx £100 on each. Then maybe another £30ish from 'Santa'. But we leave the Santa bit to her mum for her. I spend a lot of time hunting for bargains, and the kids don't get exactly what they want. For example, my son wanted a black Xbox 360, but I found a blue one in a bundle deal at argos, then got 20% off! then got £10 voucher which I bought a game for it with. After all the discounts it cost £129. But my dad and my sister will also put in for it, so really it's only costing me £80ish.

I think it's too much too. But trying to find a nice way to say. 'You aren't getting it cause you're spoilt enough and you can't just have what you want' :-)

Austin also has a milky bar one!

Toria, does she have an iPod touch? They do the same thing & obs cheaper! You could say it's quite expensive but she could have that instead.

Is there a possibility her mum has encouraged this?

Well you could just help out with the chocolate lol that's what we're doing.

I've done all of thomas' pressie just finishing off sil and bil- we aren't getting each other presents and I'm making photo books for the grandparents which I have already paid for. I just need to actually edit the layout and upload the pictures which I'll be doing next week so I am get it in time for xmas

I bought my mum a necklace and earring set, a cookie jar shaped like a gingerbread man and Luke got her a some nail cream and a nail care lot, I got my dad a bottle of port and a smellie set and Luke got him chocolates. Got mum and dad a 9x picture frame. Got my bro a David beckham smellies set and his gf a soap and glou set and between gem I got a 3x picture frame and a chalkboard. And Luke got them both small boxes of chocolates. My grandma got smellies and a photo frame with 11 picture slots in and Luke bought her some nice biscuits in a tin.
So far I've got hubby a DVD, a jumper, a Tshirt, some aweets and some socks and Luke has got him a worlds best daddy silver photo frame.

This is a huge reduction on what I usually get. We don't buy hubby's side anything, but I might send them photos of Luke.

Tough one will her mum think your being funny if you don't buy it? What does hubbie think? Don't see eft she should have as much as your other 3 put together!!
I like you bargain hunt for stuff not bought Macie too much as putting some money in her account she will get so much off others I'm also going with the photo option I'm nearby there with gifts I normally spend loads feel a Scrooge this year xxxxx

I know what you mean Nat, we've scales back massively this year too but I think it's an adjustment to the fact we now have children to buy for at Christmas so the adults aren't as central to the celebration.

Yes I've said that too as long as the children have got something then it's all good spoke to pete last night n we have decided not to bother buying each other gifts it's just too expensive n we have Macie and that's the best gift ever xxxxx

Yeah we're not doing gifts either. I'd rather use the money to buy food, make the house christmasy and enjoy watching thomas play with all the boxes the toys came in!

I've already said I'm going to plonk him in the middle of the wrapping paper

I've just had caroll singers at my my door... It's November!!
