How are all you new mummies doing?

i'd be proper pissed if someone got away with it like that.

The most controversial thing is always christmas at work. Particularly the manager who work part time. last Christmas I had to discuss with each of the part time managers what extra days they could pick up. so that it didn't look like they were getting ridiculously long breaks for christmas. Its horrible because if i was part time i wouldn't want to do it, but then i know what it looks like when they end up with a 6 day break over christmas and some people only get 1 day.

Just to rub salt in the wound my whole dept shuts down from usually around the 21st to the 4th, we can take holiday/flexi if we want or we can go in and do office based work if we don't want to use the holiday. Bloody love the benefits of my job! X

My oh is in charge of who gets leave when. It's an insurance company, so not open Xmas day/ Boxing Day. But they just take alternate Xmas periods off. Some people have kids. Others want to travel back to see family. So it's the only way to be fair to everyone.

His company also give every member of staff £100 voucher for waitrose as a Xmas present. That's our Xmas dinner sorted! Nice little touch I thought.

Richard Branson has just given all his staff unlimited holidays and time off as long as their work
Load and teams are not effected - read an article on it. It's the way forward

My work have been cool... So far....

Just want to go home now :(

Hole your all ok! I havnt really read back to be honest x

That's good your work are being good. The last thing you need is added stress!

Oh my goodness, this baptism business is hard work! How did you organise Luke's so quickly Jojo? Emma gets baptised on Sunday, and were having the party at home after. 70 people coming. No idea how I'm gonna clean this place, get all the food sorted, finish all the jobs, oh and do the cake :-/ god help me if it rains and I can't send all the kids in the garden!

We did baptism course when I was pregnant, then we told the priest when we wanted to go, booked a function room, rang around people and voila lol my wedding was hassle free too lol I think work is so stressy it makes ordinarily stressful things pain free lol

I love party planning. I organised our wedding in 4 months! Id love to do it as a job if it paid better :-)

Catching up ladies. Went back to work today... Boo! Felt terrible cos S is still poorly but needs must :-( she was in great fettle tho.

Got good news about my Christmas leave yay! Can't wait for 2 whole weeks off with her doing Christmassy things :-)

God your keen toria - 70
People eeeek!! We are going to get S christened in January, wish I hadn't left it so long now!

We're not doing a christening. Not religious, never go to church so don't see the point. One of our friends did something like it but it was only a thanksgiving because they never go to church (and have been since!) so thought it was Abit pointless. I get it if you are religious and/or go to church.

Might consider it if we have a second but doubt it.

Took a 15 months and the best part of 25k to organise our wedding so the less parties we have the more unlikely we are to be bankrupt!

We have a second tooth coming through and Isabelle won't go to sleep :-( She's had some Calpol and is now flinging herself around the living room floor, showing no signs of being tired - what do they put in that stuff?!?

Jojo, baptism course? Our priest just gave us a booklet and said read it before the day!

Kathryn, £25k!!!!! We got married in NZ at a vineyard with 60 guests, flew business class, and had 10 days in Fiji on the way back for just over £10k. That was almost 8 years ago though. And exchange rate was 3.5.

I'm always looking for new jobs for pete he's just weird tho because even tho they are shit directors that take the piss he hates change n likes his colleagues! Don't no what he's holding out for at that company I would be long gone!
I'd love to have some sort of ceremony for Macie but it's all money money money where Petes concerned :-( really starting to struggle now Christmas isn't helping praying I get this job on thu for the better money! Xxxxx

Nat, tell me about it. Christmas that is. Just had an email from my OH's ex wife as I asked for my step daughters Xmas list. All it had on it was iPad! And not just any iPad, she wants the new big iPad Air 2. The cheapest one is £399! We gave our son an iPad mini for his bday in March, but that was my old one I had for years that was starting to get a dodgy battery. Don't know how to proceed with this one. What 12 year old needs a new iPad Air 2?!

25k!! :-O !!! We did ours including our honeymoon on 6k! Lol and it was a banging party - the best anyone had been to!

Oscars christening though has cost about 800 between family members

Best bloody be there!! :/

Yeah I know it was a lot but it was my dream venue. The venue and catering cost 15k had to have the caterer that the venue recommended, it was flipping awesome. The rest was my dress, flowers etc.. We got money as a gift from everyone which we used for honeymoon.

I keep saying if we won the lottery is hire the venue out for a while weekend and do it again. Hengrave hall in suffolk. Really beautiful place, love all the history. Elizabeth the first visited/stayed there
