How are all you new mummies doing?

Maybe are just assumes your children are fine as u are travelling so far n spending so much money I think I'd be inclined to say no kids if I knew they were dead naughty ha ha xxx

Oooh I'm dying to hear what she says! Well it's safe to say S likes avacado, she was biting chewing and swallowing it down like nothing haha. Safe to say she's not got my eating habits cos I hate stuff like that!

This is OT but I know you're a dental nurse, right?

I had a filling a few weeks ago - it's a pretty deep one and just a. She'll of tooth that's he he's going to put a crown on in march. The last few days it's started to be really really sensitive. I can't feel it when im not chewing/brushing etc so it's not toothache, it's justu very very sensitive. Does this sound normal to you or should I go back about it?

Also on the avocado front... Yeuch!! Lol

Luke drank from a cup today - he refuses his sippy cup but will use a cup without a spout. He needs a little help controlling it but it/ the only way he'll take water, any ine else find this?

Jojo, I went back to the dentist 2 weeks after my last filling. Convinced she hadn't don't it right. She said they can be extra sensitive for a few months. I switched to sensodyne toothpaste though and it made such a difference. Expensive, but I only buy it when it's bogof.

Just heard back! Venue only has space for 80 people, including kids. And they are charged at adult prices. Ah well, saves us £8k.

Thanks Toria. I really trying to stay away from an extraction because I smile big and you woukd see the gap. I'm using a new toothpaste last few days actually - I wonder if it's related

If I run out, and have to use Colgate.the sensitivity is back within a day.

I just switched but I usually use Colgate but this is a different one I generally use cavity protection - but this ine is blue with bkack specks in it.

Yeah I think so. It's not till march 2016, but thinking if I took Emma with me then how am I supposed to perform my bridesmaids duties. She won't know anyone there so not like I can just hand her over to my brother or dad. She will have just turned 2 too. So terrible 2's and clingy ness. Not to mention she will need a seat on the plane. 75% of adult fare.

We are going march 2015 for a good friends wedding, so they will still get to see everyone.

It's basically impossible with a child! Hubby was an usher at sil wedding and I was her bridesmaid, constant juggling to sort him out I was exhausted.

Suppose I'm being Abit black and white about the no kids things. Just still have mega annoyance at that wedding from May!!

Tbf all the children at our wedding were very well behaved and we knew they would be. If I knew they were going to be naughty I'd have had second thoughts

Sorry jojo just seen this. Yeah could be just settling, once the crown goes on you won't feel it at all. Stick to sensodyne just now but if it doesn't get better I would go back, it could be sitting a bit high and that's why it's hurting too x x

Problem is I hate sensodyne- the taste makes me feel sick but maybe I'll just have to try and suffer it

Cool news - as of yesterday fathers now have the right to have time odd work to attend anti natal appointments, although at the moment they're still unpaid. But it's great news I think

yea 6.5 hours worth

at least they can go to scans etc. Whilst 6.5 hours isnt alot. its a start

HOWEVER

have you also heard tories are freezing SMP SPP :(

To be honest I laughed at this as it will be great for some fathers but if we were ever to have another (I have no plans to) I would not make an ounce of difference as Kev's employer would just give him an emergency which he would have to go to regardless of the appointment. x

Yeah but it's a step in the right direction. I had one scan repeated due to low fluid and I was so distressed and hubby couldn't come with me because he couldn't get the time without losing his whole shift, so it's a good step.

As for freezing smp - I'm not surprised at all, they're Tories

yes i guess in a way it is a benefit and im all for capping benefits! they have done a good job so far- this capping of SMP is the only thing i havnt liked much. Its great to see the inheritance and pension tax proposals. Thankful of that considering MIL paid a fortune in inheritance tax and pays a massive tax on hubbys dads pension she recieves!

guess the new child care contributions, and everythign else makes it worth SMP being capped. Just a shame as SMP is for working families. Hey ho!

I was lucky. My OH's boss allowed him to attend all appts he wanted & it was paid. He didn't take the piss tho. He attended both scans, the booking appt & the 16wk Mw appt. He also attended the hospital with me when I had a bleed.

Smp is so wrong! It shouldn't be capped & certainly shouldn't be the amount it is! The government expect workers to save to have a family instead yet they've made this extremely difficult to happen! You use all your savings to have a baby then you get bugger all for childcare to help you go back to work.

How do you know all that Bex? Only thing I get to watch is kids tv!lol.

We're still having issues with sorting out inheritance tax. Chris's brother died so just Chris left, and his parents are divorced so heaps to leave to Chris. They are constantly going on about how lucky we will be when they die. I keep saying just sell up and spend it as there's no way we can afford to pay all the inheritance tax! (We can't sell the houses as one they want kept in the family but too small for us to live in, and the other is for Chris's dads girlfriend to live in till she dies).

you dont have to pay inheritance tax is you are given it and they dont die within 10 years! MIL has said she would have spent all the money left from life insurance policy etc and their savings but the house which is worth about 300k would be split between them both, then theres all the possessions - her jewerry collection is valued at about 60k. one being Ajs grandmas tiffany wedding ring. Holy shit you should see it! valued at 22,000! its a ROCK! lol she wears it for special occasions only. dont blame her really! that however will go to hubby sister and down the family line which is nice :)

government want to introuduce 15 hours for children 2 years old aswell nat ( currently only available for certain criteria- i.e benefits )...thats why i justified the SMP freeze. Because c15hrs a week over a year vs a few quid a week for 9 months... calcs def in favour of the childcare vs SMP inflation rises. :)

i pay 40 a day, for hours 8am-4.30, however i could pick him up as late as 5.30. so that means im paying 4.21 per hour of his care for max hours he could attend. works out to be 3283 over a 52 week period . :) - you wouldnt get that amount on SMP .
