How are all you new mummies doing?

Yeah true jojo!

That awkward moment when your baby is on the verge of waking up but still partly sleeping and your BURSTING on a pee haha!! She's stirring now which is the latest we have got in ages, if I can just hold her out til 6 and we can start the day then!

That's great Jen

Thomas didn't nap much yesterday plus we had baby squigglers and lots of fun and giggle with gran and grandad and daddy so he was out like a light last night at 8.30pm after his last bottle and woke at 8am. First time in a few nights where he has slept solidly and not cried after being put down.

Luke had a good night too. He had 2 naps yesterday. One at 11iah like normal for around 50 mins and one at 3:30 for about 45 minutes on the couch. I put him to bed at 7pm and he woke a little on/off for 30 minutes then once for his dummy but he sleeps all the way mainly until 8:30am. I managed to do my housework last night thank god lol

I was up all night again. For no reason other than a dummy. She can get it herself too, just lazy. Chris went out last night too, so he just snored all night once he got home and slept through all the crying!

Did I tell you all my sister got engaged and wedding is March 2016 in NZ? My other sister and I are her bridesmaids, and she wants my girls to be flower girls. Problem is the date she had chosen ( based on their social calendar), are smack bang in the middle of term time. So I was thinking I'd fly out with Emma, then Chris bring the other two a few days before the wedding and come back in a week so they don't miss too much school. Anyway, my other sister messaged me this morning saying they don't want any kids at the reception. That's fine, but she hadn't even told me. So we would be spending 10k to get there for this wedding. For the kds to be involved for about 30 mins, then we would have to find someone to babysit. Who knows who that would be either as she's getting married 6 hours drive from where we are from. Don't know anyone there. So Chris would probably have to miss the wedding reception too! Thinking I may just go on my own!

thats a complete piss take of your sister! she seriously cant expect you all to travel all that way for you all to be involved for 30 min! then expect you to ship the kids off somewhere else

i think your better going on your own if at all!

if i was in your position- it would be all or nothing- my family are a part of me! im suprised given i guess she rarely see's any of you- she would be so adament as to exclude the kids from what could be great family time with everyone!

So basically she wants your girls to be flower girls for the photos? I think I'd be extremely annoyed! The only child we had at our wedding was the flower girl & she was there the entire day until her grandparents picked her up for bedtime!

I would be pissed as well!! Have you spoken to her about it? I would do that first and see what she says - a lot of money for you all to go! x

Hubby was best man at a wedding and no kids were allowed (other than immediate family) so I couldn't. Needless to say I was totally pissed off about it as thy just assumed I'd leave me 3 month old behind.

If it was me I wouldn't go or at the very most go alone. I can't believe that a family member would think that's ok!

We had no kids after speaking to our friends who have kids, they all agreed they wanted a child free day/night. One friend had a newborn who came tho, which we totally expected. I would never just assume and not invite them tho, especially with people who would play a big part!

Personally I don't get the no kids thing. We invited whole families to our wedding and have lots of great memories of what the kids got up to.

I get its someone's big day, suppose it boils down to people without children not understanding people with children.

We've been invited to a party 90 miles away for someone's 30th in November but it's 7pm to midnight so we won't be going as thomas won't be up much past 9 and I'm not going to spend most of the evening in a hotel on my own with him. Ive deliberately taken a year off to be with him so have no intention of leaving him with someone to go to a party.

We had this with my cousin's wedding last year. We'd seen her for my sister's wedding and there was no mention of it being child-free until the invites arrived in the post addressed to just me and my OH. I decided to go and our daughter stayed with my OH. They actually went to my OH's uncle and aunt's golden wedding anniversary, which was the same day. Seemed ridiculous that two people in their 90s wanted an 18 month old at their party, but my 20-something cousin couldn't cope with it at her wedding!!!

I've never understood child-free weddings and the whole thing made me cross - compounded by their thank you card for the present, which thanked us for being "so understanding" about the child-free rule.

When we got married, Jack was 11 months and he was there a lot of it. We didn't say no children, but generally people want a good night out to enjoy themselves. So only people with little babies brought them along. I've been to wedding where only children of immediate family allowed. I guess that's fair enough.

I've emailed her saying "what's this about no kids allowed. What's the point in us coming?". Let's see what she says.

It's each to their own :) I didn't invite kids to the ceremony/wedding breakfast partly. It's a long day & last thing I wanted were kids running round & screaming. They were all welcome at the evening reception

Straight to the point...I like it!

I think it's up to each person it is their wedding tho after all but I do think ur sister is being a bit harsh Toria when your going to so much trouble and travelling so far! Xxxx

I'm wondering if the main reason is to stop my brother taking his kids. They are pretty naughty, and my brother and his wife just let them do what they like. Apparently their new house already has holes in the walls and drawing on them too!

She will be on her way to work shortly, so should get a response soon.

Oooh I'm dying to hear what she says! Well it's safe to say S likes avacado, she was biting chewing and swallowing it down like nothing haha. Safe to say she's not got my eating habits cos I hate stuff like that!

Well working at the co-op has it's advantages I managed to get 8 Ella's kitchen pouches for 24p each BB nov and some ek porridge for 79p lol bargain! I do give her my stuff but comes in handy when round n about xx

Omg toria! Im actually shocked she would even say no kids when your making the effort to travel half way round the world to even go! And your daughter to be flower girl then to be sent on her way!!! Madness.. I'm intrigued as to what she's going to reply back to you!! X
