Omg I feel awful, sitting next to thomas on the sofa and he slips and falls into the floor headfirst. :( it's carpeted and sofa is quite low but there was a big thud and he was really upset about it (obvs!!) tried to catch him but I missed!

I'm panicking now. He seems fine and there's no visible sign of anything but I'm shitting myself that he's got a head injury I can't see.

It's his normal nap time now so I've put him down as he was getting cranky and im now watching him like a hawk.

Typical that if I wasn't for this cold is have been out my now

Bex, don't feel bad. You are working to provide the best for Oscar. He will be having fun at nursery. If you get that feelig again. Think of me sending Emma off to nursery when I don't even have a job to go to ;-)

Kathryn, do you remember when my kids dropped Emma off the bed when we were in Thailand on to a tiled floor? I was up all night checking on her, contemplating going to hospital. She was totally fine. Just shocked I think.

Let us know how the selling goes. I've bought a few cheap bits off amazon that I need to sell.

FYI ladies. At the sainsburys baby event, they've got Lyndam home safety kits £10 down to £3! Just picked up 2.

Kathryn Oscar came head first out of his car seat, and off the sofa the weekend! Had a big egg on his head! They bounce well!

Shine a light in his eyes - if his pupils dilate and he's alert your ok - if he goes quiet and sick or pale go take him x

Thanks guys! Am sorting some stuff at home so keeping busy and just cracking on! A lot going on ATM do I guess it's just a pressure build up x

Austin's had an assessment today carried out by hv. They do them between 6&8 months here (he's 7 months).

They basically checked his weight, height & head circumference, checked head/neck control, checked his bits. They then asked me to complete a questionnaire. He's not quite there with communication (not saying dada baba gaga repetitive sounds) nor does he always pick up on my tone like when I'm telling him no. And he's right on the line with his problem solving (not got a good pincer grip yet but I think this is because he did not take to BLW so I didn't push it therefore hasn't been picking up small things a lot). She stressed there's nothing to worry about which I'm not!

Also got his book start pack, a crib sheet of activities to help his development (not looked at check), toothpaste & toothbrush & a tt first cup with 3 different attachments. Oh & some vitamin drops.

I feel the assessment was beneficial! Can't understand why all PCTs don't do this.

Here's a pic of the cup with the attachments. We have a few of these but only with the folding spout. Apparently you can't buy the clear one that sits inside to help them drink from cups like we do

Oh and toothpaste. Apparently we live in an area that doesn't contain fluoride so Austin's needs at least 1000ppm of fluoride in his toothpaste. If you do have fluoride in the water in your area you need less as your LO could get poorly with too much. I did not know this!

Luke was up from about 6ish on and off - he was off his food all day yesterday... He's better with his food today but I swear I can see a third tooth on the bottom coming in but I though they grew 2 bottom then 2 top first?

I've decided to give Luke half a banana after his lunch... I know my hv said to give him small pieces but I'm ignoring hat and giving him big chunks (like half) so he can actually grab it... He but some bits off and had a chew and it was messy - most going on his face, his lap or the floor but he had a good go and I'm going to keep doing that instead if the little bits he seems to choke on.

Ladies, how are your baby's doing with weaning/dropping bottles?

Ruri has been on three meals a day for 2/3 weeks now and is taking very well to it! The past three days he seems to have dropped his mid morning bottle, so he's have 4x7oz bottles and his solids. Is it too soon for him to drop bottles?

I didn't know about the hv assessments. Probably don't do them in my area. Are babies supposed to be saying mama and dada already?! Only repetitive noise Emma makes is crying.lol

Jojo, I thought the 2 bottom teeth then 2 top came trough first, but then a friend told me the other day that's not always true. Her son got top two first, and a big gap between them too.

I give Emma big things to chomp on too. If she gets a big bit stuck in her throat, it's easier to grab out.

Only this week I feel like we've finally got to grips with it all. Emma's having 3 meals and eating well. And 3 8oz bottles. She's dropped her 10:30 bottle, which has helped a lot with her finishing meals. And also finishing her whole bottle. So the routine is now:

7am - 8oz ( she often wakes at 6, but still doesn't want her bottle till 7)
9am - breakfast
11:30 - lunch
12-2 - nap (she stopped napping months ago until this week when she dropped the bottle)
2pm - bottle
4:30 - dinner
7pm - bottle
7:30 - bed

It's a 6-8months assessment. She said that this is roughly where they'd expect them to be making repetitive sounds like that but not concerned if they don't as all babies develop differently.

I'm just pleased that they are actually monitoring his development

Don't have that round here. Next one for us is a year!

Thomas was doing dadada sounds about 3 weeks ago but has stopped and doesn't do it anymore! I haven't done baby led weaning, although I give him some baby rice cakes or baby crisps occasionally and he picks them up and eats them so that's good practise. He can drink from a beaker now too but occasionally needs abit of help so that the liquid tips to the mouth piece.

Thomas only has 3 bottles a day now.

1 with his porridge, 1 at 4pm and 1 at 8pm

For his lunch and dinner he had water in a beaker

Edit: Can't remember when he started dropping bottles but I started giving milk with food to start and then slowly introduced water. He dropped his 12.30 bottle first and then his 6pm one after that. You can tell though because even though I was making up a full bottle he was drinking less and less of it

We get lots of noise but nothing repetitive other than shrieking & squealing! We give him those but he tends to grab them & not pick/hold them with his finger & thumb. He's been drinking from a sippy cup for a while but we use an avent one as he didn't take to the tt ones but like I said we only have ones with a folding spout.

For those who have the doidy beaker - is that how it works? Does it have an insert like in the pic?

That's good to know about the dropping bottles. At 2 weeks in, S is taking decent sized meals and still taking 5 bottles in 24 hours!! Did your babies just stop drinking them?

That's a great check to have! Like you say tho, it's not worth worrying about development too much. It won't matter in a while when the first started talking or walking x

Hope your ok too Bex! You've a lot going on just now so no wonder your overwhelmed! 5 days a week too - that superwoman stuff. I'm doing 4 and literally feel sick at the thought x

My best friend was supposed to visit this week but had to cancel because someone on her family is sick - she made up for it big time by booking tickets for us to go to ye arena in January to see queen! I swear I would climb Brian May like a tree!!

Oscar still having 5x 5oz bottles a day - sometimes 6? And 3 wacking meals :/
