How are all you new mummies doing?

We did have seperate accounts and then a joint account where we out money in for bills. Now though we share the joint account as my earnings are about a quarter of what they were while I was at work. I normally pay half of everything but hubby is paying Abit extra to overpay on our mortgage.

I like to have my own money that I've earnt as I feel guilty spending hubbies money normally as I haven't earnt it. Since being on mat leave though my mindset has changed slightly as Im starting to relax abit more about it being 'his money'

Oh I haven't! I feel guilty every penny I spend because I have to worked for it - even when I spend maternity pay or my tax credits. This is the long I've not worked in my life! We have a joint account we use for baby stuff and saving

Thanks everyone for the nice comments!

I never feel guilty about spending money and we have just enough to get by, I'm quite generous with it but I'm also not very careful with it!! We share all our money too x

He's always been like that we have joint ac n me n him put the same amount in each month to cover the bills n his money is his n mine is mine he's still got hump on this morning how he expects me to still pay half to bills and I pay 4 the car out if my money is beyond me he said if I spent less I'd still have redundancy left to pay in I have still got some left but don't want it all to go on bills! I'm going to kill him soon! Everything is really getting on too of me this then his family I've tried talking to him but get no response he's a good dad but not so good partner anymore just don't no what to do :-( xx

Tell him you want paying for childcare? This is the sole reason your working part time because you're looking after the child you've had together?

Thanks everyone for the nice comments!

This sounds like me!

Aww Bex, hope you feel better soon. That's the same bug Chris and Emma had too. I've escaped it so far though thank goodness.

We were up early this morning too. Emmas still got the runs, so changed her at 5:30 then she was wide awake. But 6:30 she was so tired from waking early she was inconsolable. She fell asleep on the floor bout 7:15, woke at 8 a different baby! All happy. I thought I was going to have to keep her out of nursery today. Fingers crossed she doesn't pick up another bug today!

Nat, sorting out money is always an issue. I get all Chris's money in to my account then I give him £400 a month spending. Then I deal with all the bills. I see it as my job looking after the kids is unpaid. I'm actually saving him childcare costs! If I did go back to work, that would mean both of us out of the house 7am - 7pm. So this way the kids have one of us around during the week.

For those who's babies have cut teeth or teething for that matter, how have your little ones dealt with it?

Austin's not been great at all. Crying a lot & waking during the night. His top tooth is on its way & past week has been dreadful. I've been up at silly o'clock with him for an hour every night since Sunday. Last night was probably the best as it was about 5am when he did it. I changed him, cuddles, fed him (extremely unusual) & gave him medicine. He also Had medicine last night at 7pm & I've just had the same issue with him. Would stop crying, he'd had lunch, refused his bottle, nappy changed, wouldn't nap, wouldn't let me put anbesol/bonjela & on cuddling he bit my shoulder quite hard so I figured his teeth again & gave him medicine.

Hubby phoned & warned me not to be giving him too much! I honestly try to avoid it & now I'm angry at him for making it sound like I'm giving it him all the time & upset because he's made me question whether I am? This is the first time in a while he's needed more than one dose in 24 hours & it's not like he's even had medicine on a daily basis it's just these past few days have been horrible for him! What do you ladies think? I hate being made to question myself

Aw wee shame I witch, not looking forward to that at all. Hope your feeling better Bex!

Nat, that's rubbish. Having a baby does all sorts to a relationship. Money is the root of all evil I think. Me and my ex shared an account and money and it's all we ever argued about. Chris and I consolidate the money and whatever is left after bills and stuff, we half. It's a win win! We never argue about money. Like nat says, he should be paying you to look after Macie - your Saving him a fortune on childcare! Hope your ok.

Well I'm off for a whole weekend with the Inlaws - wish me luck! ;-) x x

So pissed off! Some little idiot thought it would be oh so funny to jam he stop buzzer on he bus in the baby/disabled section of the bus! Bus ended up not atoppingn and I had to walk half an hour to get home from he bus stop! That's further Han the pool in he first place! Luke got in late for his lunch and now he's down a bottle and he won't have it for ages now so god knows what he's going to be like tonight when I have to keep him awake to feed him his bottle!

Good luck Jen :-/

Jojo, I would have screamed at someone to push another buzzer. Could the bus driver not just pull over a bit later? How annoying.

I'm having a bad day too. My one day with Emma in nursery. Had all sorts of errands to run, lots of bills and phone calls to make. Spent an hr and a half getting back from my first errand even though its normally a 10 min drive at most. Apparently it was down to one lane as they were cutting the grass. Saw the cones, but not a grass cutting person in sight! Grrrr. Then start paperwork. My mother in law asked me to get Premium bonds for 6 yr olds bday. Sent the forms to then be told I need to verify her identity. Fine, so they tell me the postoffice are free and to go there. Cost £7.50! Paid it and sent form off. Got letter back saying not good enough, need ph number and address. Fine, go back to postoffice and they add the info. Then get letter today. "Sorry, we don't accept postoffice confirmations". Omfg! So annoyed. They are the ones that sent me there! £7.50 for service, £1 each time I had to park, and whatever fuel costs to get there twice. What a bunch of idiots. Back to square one.

I don't separate account thing either! We have a joint account and share everything - what's his is mine and mine is his

We are married and now have a child together - we are a unit ! :)

The way the road works he couldn't have stopped - I wasn't drivers fault, it was the idiot there before me or whenever. I was so annoyed!!

As for teeth - Luke has still been sleeping through but I'd a pain in the evening - just refuses to settle until about midnight

Teeth - I wouldn't have known Ryan's bottom two were there if I hadn't been looking so much. Top two are just below the surface, tiny white spot on the left one... Yesterday afternoon and today I think Ryan has had a personally transplant with the devil. The sooner they cut the better! Booooooo! X

Still no sign of teeth here!

However so releaved that thomas' 2nd ball decided to make an appearance today. Was there when they checked him in hospital and then sometime between that and his 8 week check it disappeared. Having to go back in October to gp to have it rechecked and if it hadn't sppeared was going to be referred to the hospital for potential operation under a general anaesthetic. I Can't tell you how happy I am that I've seen it. The thought of him under a general at this age scares me.

Jojo- so annoying! Little *******s doing that.

I've taken a RIsk and put Luke to bed 6pm. He was crying abd rubbing his eyes and took his whole bottle so I'm risking it

That's brill news! Last thing you'd want for anyone never mind a baby

Well he woke up and I popped his dummy in and you'd think someone slipped him some chloroform - in fact he's just done it again now. Wakes then as soon as dummy is in he's away. He's in his front with his bum in the air

Great news about Thomas!

Oscar has been in bed for 6.30 most evenings this week! He's been waking 6 - 6.30am which is better with work etc

I've noticed now that Emma is napping less in the day, and more active. By 6:30 she's so tired. I sometimes let her nap for 30 mins at about 5 as I can't get the other two fed and bathed and quiet by then.

That's good news Thomas's ball arrived. One less thing to worry about.
