How are all you new mummies doing?

I made a potato, carrot and broccoli purée today that was basically boiled in stock. When I puréed it, it went like glue.No idea what I've done wrong there.

Toria did you use normal potatoe? It's that!! Did it go really glupey etc?

I read somewhere not to blitz potato but to do it through a sieve or colander cos it goes all sticky, maybe that?

I don't cook anything, it's beyond me. I'm using jars and that's it.

As by beyond me I mean I can't figure out what to do and I'm a shit cook so I'm giving up

It's honestly really simple Hun?!

Get some veg- cook it untill it's soft! Blend it down.... Add water to make it thinner if needed

Freeze it

The AK books are dummy proof- where's your hubby? Can't he cook?

You should have a go! For the price of a carrot and a sweet potatoe!

Or buy the AK book and give it a bash- no harm rather than not even giving it a go

You'll have to cook him food eventually - he can't live on packet and jars all his childhood :)

There's not big wrong with jars. I do 50/50. I cook plenty for myself but sometimes you can't blend it all down for them. Hrs are good way to find out what flavours they like without doing a whole batch

Bex and Jen, yip blitzed potato and went glupey. I followed an ak recipe though and it was all cooked in stock. Maybe next time I'll just mash it all.

Jojo, I'm doing 50/50 too. Usually get a cube out the freezer and half a jar or pouch. Or just pouches when I'm out.

I never said there was anything wrong with jars - Oscar has pouches if we are out and about etc

Just making a point in saying it's really easy and just having a go ?

It's like saying I don't know how to breastfeed so I'm not going to bother :)

No harm in trying right? :)

I have tried and it's meh! Lol I'll be fine when I don't have to blend it, it's the blending that's the issue. I'm just having cools block about it. Tbf Thomas prefers the jars to what I've made him so I'm sticking with that! Ha, he obviously knows I can't cook lol

Hubby works 9-6, leaves at 8 and doesn't get in till 6.45 ish. He does enough at the weekends and we're fine as is so I'm
Not worrying about it.

Everything I've cooked so far 4 Macie she's turned her nose up little bugger it's all tasted nice too! Lol need to get my ak books out n do some more recipes! But I do give jars n pouches too it's just convenience as most of out meals aren't really suitable to blend as we eat alot of salad n stuff n finding time to have a good cooking sesh is hard! Need to make time! Xxx

Why has Harry decided that 5.40 everyday is time to get up I'm refusing to leave my nice warm bed till 6 just lying here listening to him on the monitor talking away to his animals!!!

I went to Tesco yesterday afternoon and bought some stuff to use to wean Hayley once she's 6 months, but a packet of rice cakes split on the journey on the way home. So I gave her one when we were home, so broke a teeny bit off put it in her mouth, started gagging and was sick everywhere. Safe to say no more food for her until at least 6 months!

Hayley went to bed straight away after getting home from my ex last night - i kept wake and she keeps spinning in bed! Her head ended up at the foot of the bed twice. Now im lying in bed still feeling really ill, with bad tummy pains and shes lying beside me playing with her dummy.

Highly recommend the Tommee Tippee blender only £10 at Asda at the moment! Just have to pop the cooked food in and it blends it to mush and also chunkier option when they get a bit older. I'm not the best cook but even I can manage with this!

Emma prefers the pouches and jars to my cooking too. I put a cube of mine in a bowl, and half a jar or pouch next to it then do a spoonful of each in her mouth. Confuses her enough she just eats it. Lol

Luke did that with finger food. He's fine with purée and lumpy purée

I'm at the dentist... I've had three panic attacks thismorning fans feel another one coming on and I'm not even in yet! Terrified.

I have a blender! It's just difficult with meal times etc.. Cause I feed Thomas at 5.30 but we don't eat till 7/7.30 so some of the stuff we eat and could be blended is not ready.

I was fed from jars when I was a baby and I've never had a serious illness so in sticking to this for the one being. Any I don't necessarily think it is any healthier as it all depends on what you use, how fresh it is and whether you cook all of the goodness out, with my skills it's probably comparable to cardboard
