How are all you new mummies doing?

They said to be sent prior to meeting... It's 11am

I've had to do meeting with people before about flexi working. If I don't have a few days notice in what they want I normally say at the meeting I'll look into it and get back to them as you can't really judge the effect and whether it's possible without seeing others work patterns.

Maybe they'll do that and write a reply if they can't tell you straight off the bat

Can you tell me what to expect? I'm shitting mysf about it

Lol! My names becca, Stacey :) Ruri is terrible for his eye catching the telly and he just stares! I try and turn it off as much as I can now lol!

Maud Ruri loves being outside too :) my sister has hanging baskets and he'll sit and stare at them for ages trying to grab them.

Ladies this might sound like an odd question but what sort of play do you do with babas? Ruri seems just happy lying playing with his wee gym but I just feel he's not getting enough stimulation! We are normally out every day but on the days we aren't out and about I feel like I'm just not doing enough with him :/

Luke has a saucer he loves! It's got loads if spin I g toys and an abacus type thing and dangly toys and a bee and bendy toys... Loves that! He also has a ticking chair with a bar with toys and rings on he likes to play with, he has a musically play gym, a tummy time toy, he also has a bendy chewyoy/rattle and a squeaky elephant lol. He likes to play with a material ball too. We read a few times a day also

He's always on the go!

I just let him look at the telly, a lot of the time were watching news program's and things on the morning and I think it's good for him to watch something with normal pattern of speaking instead of that kids show wow the world is so bright and colourful and annoying sounding lol

He likes the colours of the the TV and I think it's fine as long as he's not just sitting there

My Luke decided to laugh whenever they said "back to you" lol

Not sure what your place of work will do, but I would normally meet with the person and discuss their return as follows:

When they would like to come back

Previous contracted hours

If they are wishing to change, what to (hours and any specific days).

If that isn't possible do they have any alternatives and how flexible can they be with hours and times.

Any flexibility in job role (not sure about your work and whether you have different jobs at same pay level).

Main reason for request to change so that I had an understanding of the importance and circumstances.

For us first meeting is to discuss all circumstances so that the employer can then look into the request and decide whether it is able to accommodate the employees request.
Normally we need to reply in writing in two weeks and if it's not possible suggest an alternative.

Some meetings though the request is so simple that I'm able to say yes straight away and then I follow up with a written yes to the request.

I think all in all in being quite flexible. I'm not asking for set days (we work any day if the week, it's not mon-fri) I'm saying I can work 3 days available from 8-2 and an occasional 3 if it was needed but not even wry day die to financial strain and I could work full 14hr days on weekends and could do 2 a month. Also said I could work long says I bank holidays... Reducing hrs from 37 to 25

I think that's fair, right?

Sounds like you're being very flexible with your request. I've know some people say I can only do this day this time and that's it.

The fact you can do any day with those times is definitely in your favour (in my opinion!)

Basically my hubby leaves for work at 3:30 so I want to finish at 2 so that I can get home so he can get ready without stressing and we're not handing baby over at the door kind if thing. If I finish at 3 I will have to get. Taxi home which doesn't cost much (£2-£3) but every day that wouldn't be very good for us.

I know one of the services I work in can't do a 2pm finish so I'd have to do ill 3 1 day a week which is really why I said it

Hi all, I wrote a post this morning after catching up. But obviously forgot to post. Losing it!lol

Busy day today. Went to toys r us for my almost 6 year old to see what she wants for her bday, but also to check out car seats. Bex, what one did you get? So many options! With the older ones we got one that was too small by the time they were two. Got a lot of use out of that one as Jack was 2 when Maddie arrived. But don't want to make the same mistake twice.

I've been looking at the next level car seats too. Was looking at the maxi cosi 2waypearl or britax max fix 2 but they're both quite expensive. Really want an erf seat but don't know which one to go for

I went with the britax duo plus with the integrated isofix! Seems a good seat!

Kathryn, those two look good. I looked at the Britax first class today that is rear facing to 13kg, then forward facing. But I noticed the ones that are group 0/1 are smaller. Emma's bum filled the gap!lol

Bex, that one looks good too. I didn't realise some had integrated isofix. I had discounted them as thought I'd have to buy the family fix base. What's the recline like?

I was looking at the Britax king II every day, Britax eclipse, and maxi cosi priori. We were thinking we would need one for each car. But if we just get an isofix one, should be easy enough just to move it between cars. Decisions decisions!

i left hubby with luke for most of the day. i got up at 7 and gave him hos bottle but ive been feeling awful last few days - h=bad back, feeling sick, crampiness, restless legs and tired so hubby gave me a lit in till 10:00. i went out at 2:30 with mum and left him with him until 5:30 - im trying to leave them alone more because when i go back to work he will need to be with him all day. lukje was really grumpy for him though :( i need to leave them alone more often for them both to get used to it,.

This car seat thing is a minefield. So much choice. Apparently isofix rear facing ( not sure about front) only goes to 18kg

Jojo, I actually had a mini argument with OH this evening about him spending more time with Emma as she always wants me. Although I think half the problem is he expects her to just sit quietly with him while he watches tv. And he gets wound up when she cries. He wouldn't even bath her tonight, cause he did it 2 days ago!grrr. Then he started on about him having he do everything around here. Funny that considering he doesn't see the kids mon - fri really, and all he did yesterday was go for a bike ride, eat, and watch the Grand Prix! Oh and today he had to go have a nap.

It is a minefield!!

It seems good? I paid 120 for it so if it only lasts a few years then that's a good buy as far as I'm concerned ? I don't really know much about it - all I know is it's very recommended and I can attach it quickly to the car :)

Annoying!!

See idk if mark thinks thst because he wasn't happy and bouncy it meant he was grumpy. He needs a nap in his chair around 3 after hus bottle so I put his dummy in, toy given and rick him away and he usually gies down fir 30 mins but hubby smy hsve just thought he was bored but I can't tell him whst to do all the time.

I've just had a look at the Britax website, and looks like all group 1 seats are up to 18kg 4yrs old. The Britax evolva 123 is up to 36kg. I'm gonna weight my older two tomorrow. I'm sure my 8 year old is only about 25kg. He would beat me with a stick if I tried to get him in a car seat! Lol. He's been over the height restriction for over a year now. And Maddie moved to just the booster seat when she was 4, so don't think it's worth getting one of those group 1-3 seats.
